So Lan trying spellcraft here, is probably a waste. He'd still see it as possibly symbology like the kind he uses.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Lan looks at the stone, then shrugs lightly. It's -probably- not his kind of ability.
Jin Hebimoto
Jin nods, " Deal, my friend. now lets get the perimeter secure.. Did you bring any twine or thine rope to set an early warning system? We should also set who goes on what watch preferably in pairs. I think our scouting this day was not fruitless.. Giants ARE roaming around and that in itself is a case for worry. " Jin starts taking branches nearby to keep a healthy fire going after it starts, nice dry ones.
As he scavenges from nature he also checks to see if there are materials to make an Elixir hoping to create a more potent concoction. " One the watches, I believe I should take the middle one. that tends to have the highest chance of danger. " Jin breathing in the air as if it was an old friend.
Lan Minerva
Lan would shrug. He only needed a shortened timespan of rest, same as the other Elan. So there wasn't really a 'middle' watch for him. Just four hours of meditation to either side.
James Crownwell
"I am calling the first watch, if I first drift off to the wondrous dreamlands then you'll need a thunder strike to wake me up." James withdraws a tin can from his satchel and a crude looking improvised pipe from his inner pockets and occupies himself with cleaning, stuffing and then finally igniting the sweet smelling tobacco with a piece of flint and tinder.
A few moments later he has placed himself directly upon the flat rock in the middle of the circle where has has taken to heaving violently on his pipe, only pausing periodically to let out a stream of smoke or spit out phlegm.
"Well? What are you waiting for? I'll wake Jin, he will wake Lan. Stop dallying and get in your bunks."
Jin Hebimoto
" Well this hammer HAS been known to be synonymous with one that breaks the earth.. Would that be good enough? I kid... I shall see you in 4 hours " The Suit dejects from his body revealing the lightly armored and sweat glistened Jin under forming into various line patterns upon his body instead.

The temperature drops below zero for just a short while, long enough to sting, but not long enough to claim lives. With exception to the howling wind, the night is quiet.

Before bed, Lan negates his hunger for the day by utilizing his psionic energy to sustain his body. He would wrap himself in his blanket and roll out his bedroll, after clearing away whatever snow he could.
Once it was his shift once more, he would give his blanket to whoever was going to sleep (along with his bedroll, which was already warmed) and spend the remaining time being mobile to keep his body temperature up. A lot of his time was spent keeping the fire stoked and alive. That, and keeping Vim active to ward away the elements while he was awake.
Jin Hebimoto
Nothing says I needed a Lab to do so nor does it say I cant do it in the wild. You need materials in the Wild actually to Craft the Elixirs.. remember? And you never really said what I needed. Just how much time it takes.
Zaralastra
Zaralastra burns psionic energy before meditating in order to negate the need for food or drink for another 24 hours. He gives silent thanks for his decision to purchase cold weather clothing before heading on this trip.
Jin Hebimoto
You need a base Alchemy lad, which doesnt cost much but weighs a little, I'll just adjust for that as well, no big deal. The BIG version gives a bonus however.
Zaralastra
Zaralastra examines the stars overhead. He does not expect this will contribute to the mission in any way, but he likes the look of the stars at night.
Jin Hebimoto
Jin wakes up a little groggy, stretching before his morning exercises. Taking 30 mins or so to do his daily 100 push-ups and squats in his Armored Suit before resetting his Alchemist's kit and setting out to do Hunting.. with his Hammer. The helmet snaps back on as his form starts to go into the nearby wilderness to get warm food. he nods to james right before leaving.
Survival Take 10: 10 + 7 = 17
Lan Minerva
Lan, Likewise, gains psionic focus, his emphasis being on animals, this time. If the night was uneventful, aside from the cold that would have chilled James significantly, then he remains quiet, having little to talk about.
Lan Minerva
with a high move speed, or ability to bypass difficult terrain -or- a good stealth, very easily! Without... God only knows. I guess splattering rabbit holes, then digging them open again?
Jin Hebimoto
I didnt most likely took a 10... because the DC is .. 10. I can roll though.. as I did note the action to find it. I can also roll if you dont want me to take a 10. Also yeah you can hunt fine with a Hammer.. just kill it before it gets to react.
Jin Hebimoto
Are you sure, last I remember the DC was 10 unless you changed it recently, as the DC was easy enough a person could at level 1 take a 10 and do so.. I actually distinctly remember the DC being 10... Now however, the Craft stayed the Same... If that was the Case I would have had to roll it for the smaller elixirs before, which I would have done if I couldnt auto make the DC, which at the time was DC 10 and require 1 hour of searching

As you sit and eat breakfast, discussing how far you should track the prints, you hear this, causing you to nearly soil your furs.
0:04-0:15 is about what I picture.
Jin Hebimoto
Ahh I see, let me react then. And if you want me to roll for the Elixir then I will roll, might invalidate it, but I dont believe you can take a 20 because the penalty for failure is. not finding any.
Jin looks up from his rock and the sound of scraping metal can be heard in his caution. " IT SEEMS WE MIGHT HAVE... COMPANY.. THE WILDLIFE MIGHT BE UPSET WITH ME "
Lan Minerva
Lan continued maintaining Vim, even as the creature let itself be known. duration: 1d5 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 rounds of one temporary hit point remaining. He did his best to rise calmly, and quietly, hopefully slipping into cover for stealth.
Zaralastra
Zaralastra has no food or drink to distract him. Upon hearing the sound of approaching wildlife he will activate 1) Inertial Armor, then 2) Vigor, in that order, then ready his crossbow.
jimibones83
@Zaralastra You will have to take those actions in initiative, which I would have rolled already but I got carried away on chores at the house. I'm about to post it now though.
@Elisa You can do that if it's a free action, otherwise you will have to wait till yur turn in initiative. The only reason I didn't roll it right away was because I wanted my sound effect to set in a lil bit. However, time got away from me. Next time I'll just post it all at once.

It's more of a signal of upcoming actions, assuming circumstances don't suggest changing course midway. E.g. if the animal is killed instantly, there's no reason I would still go on to cast Vigor.
Zaralastra
Zaralastra casts Inertial Armor. In addition, for the rest of his round, he will move behind Jin or Elisa or Lan, in that order, of preference, assuming any of them are nearby, such that there is someone between Zaralastra and the leopard.
It appears we have feline company and he looks hungry.
Lan Minerva
Someone really should roll a know(Nature) check if they have it. I get the feeling this is avoidable.
Lan, moves away and into cover on his turn, to allow himself to fade from the view of the creature.
8 rounds remaining of buff (I'd done the roll to be up to date for the first round). Move action: get to cover. Standard action: move action while stealthed.
Zaralastra
Zaralastra's knowledge of nature doesn't go much beyond recognizing that a large feline can be assumed to be dangerous. If this is an unavoidable encounter, at least the pelt may be worth something.
