After about 6 hours the group gets to one of the first crossings since the Stag Lord's ruins. You have passed this before but did not investigate it.

The Thorn River grows unusually shallow here just before it empties into the Shrike. The resulting ford seems shallow.

No visible threats, do you cross here or look for a better crossing?

The resulting ford is never deeper than 3 feet.

In about 3 hours the group gets to one of the first crossings since the Stag Lord's ruins. You have lost 2d6-2 items either from falling off the wagon or by being destroyed by being jostled around so much. You have passed this before but did not investigate it.

Nodding in agreement with Krazok, "I don't believe it would be wise to go too fast. We are not fully healed, I do not believe, and it would be good to take a break, as it were. The first step of our journey is done, we should not make haste to drive ourselves into the next, whatever it is that our...benefactors...demand of us."

There is something odd about how he says benefactors, as if it is something more than he has let on before, as if he is here not just on a single mission...or perhaps on the same mission from multiple sources.

After a long ride and dismounting at the ford Fizzy does a little hopping dance to stretch out.

Then he sees something. No one move. Well move all you want to find our way across. I have to see to something.

Fizzy crouches down so his belly is almost scraping the ground. He creeps off to the side, into the trees.

"A lope suggests we are sated as a lion that has eaten more than his fill," Klaus observes. "I may never be satisfied on any given day. But that aside, yes, I agree that we should take it carefully. This wagon is near overloaded with goods."

When they reach the water, Klaus stands at the edge of the river and looks at the current and tests the depth. He finally shakes his head. "It would be far too easy for the horses to lose their footing or the wheels of the wagon to slide out. Let's head towards the forest and see if there are better fording areas there."

Fizzy:
Well fire makes the bond stronger, thus it would make sense that cold would disconnect the connection, besides the accidental dieing, the bearer of me was never at a disadvantage, my bearer was the one less at fault, and typically held to the lawful side of things.

After letting the horses get some water, and everyone a chance to stretch, it looks like Krazok agrees with Klaus, but strips down to his scales, what little was on him and takes a quick dip into the water.

"Yes, we could ford over, though it looks like it is 2 to 3 feet deep along this path. I agree we should move up the Thorn river to find a better place." Krazok says in agreement with Klaus, splashing a bit around still in the water.

Again, for a brief moment, Klaus' guard is down and he looks upset about something. But then he girds himself again and just leaves his feelings unexpressed, stewing in whatever bitterness has gripped him that day.

fizzy warches the outburst. Theb he takes out a small piece of pie. He walks over to klaus and puts it in his hand then he wraps his arms around Klaus's legs in a massive hug.

then he helps Fuzz into the wagon and he clambers up.


"Cheer up Klaus.. Im sure we'll be given another contract after the completion of this one and the haul of goods we're about to deliver.. You'll be eating fine vittles and drikin sissy wine in no time! Hahaha"


The group gets back onto their horses and mounts, leading the wagon farther north along the side of the river. No one in their right mind would try to rob this bunch.

Fizzy goes around and shares the last of the pie with Sly, Selena Fuzz,Rekka and then if there is anything left with Torq, Tomas and Klaus. Fizzy crawls under the wagon with Fuzz and attempts to perform the familiiar ritual taught him by Rekka. Likley it does not work, so he winds up curling up with Fuzz and sleeping.

Will Save DC 18... fail and you are in love with her. An supernatural ability that seems to just happen every once in a while...Torq knows he was under its effects before. Anyone else looking at Selena at that moment in time would be affected as well. :P For this ability any modifiers you have for Will saves, gives you a bonus.

As he ties his horse, he sees Selena stretch and immediately nods at her comment. "Of course, is there anything else that you need, M'lady?"

Honestly, this isn't far from how he treats her anyway. He has been a bit trepidatious around her from the get go, having never been around a beautiful elf for any extended period of time, he has been having a hard time not staring during the off hours. Now it's just more obvious...and perhaps a good bit more severe.

While he is unpacking some things from the cart, Klaus watches Selena and feels a tug at his heart. Or at his loins. He cannot be certain which it is, but no sooner than he feels it does he realize how ridiculous it would be for him to have any carnal relations with Selena. He pounds his fist against the back of the cart and then points a bold finger at her.

"You are no better than the fey who fooled us into chasing a pixie halfway across the Greenbelt! Yours are the same damn charms and I will have no part of it! Are your nethers so desperate for attention that you must wield enchantments with such reckless abandon? The last time you did this a boy died!" he shouts, invoking Lelouch's death yet again.

As the others fawn and she preens, Klaus throws up his hands in disgust. "Bah! It is like speaking to boys with barely a hair on their chins. Throw yourselves on this temptress if you like, I am going to check the integrity of that bridge."

Scowling, Klaus leaves and approaches the bridge, first looking at it while off the bridge, and then slowly crossing the bridge.

Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 to judge the structural integrity of the bridge and whether it is capable of bearing the weight of the cart, horses, all the goods and the riders. And also looking for weak spots in the bridge that he can patch up in the morning with the mending cantrip.

Fizzy turns and confront Klaus, or crawls out from under the cart.

Thats enough Wizz. The boy attacked me. He brought his death on himself. If you wish to continue to think he was good and noble you can. But unless you were there and had his magics wash over you, and watched him refuse to answer my call as to who was spying on us, then keep it to yourself! Had it been you out there and you were attacked by magics you would have burned down the forest to kill him.

For the first time any of them have seen, Fizzy does not smile, does not seem fun loving or innocent. He seems world weary and sad.

It doesn't look it, but Klaus is positively giddy to have goaded the gnome into verbal conflict. "And shall I just ignore the very same tactic of his that you decried, now employed by her against us all? Hypocrisy, gnome! Tell me, what should stay my hand now? What difference is there between his idiocy, the fey's manipulation, and her trying to force my affections?"

wisdom boy. If she does something grow up and speak to her. I reprimand you for bringing up thw dead and blaming one who is blameless. Stop acting like one of your races children. Do you take pleasure in making me speak like this? Song and joy has stopped. Poetry and humor have no place here. If this is your joy I would prefer to be back in the strange forest or in the sewars of Korvosa or in one of the Pathfinder cells again. I would prefer to be taken by bandits or ruled by the stag.

For the first time today, things appear to be looking up. Klaus is actually smiling! Or barring his teeth. A little of both, really. "I am speaking to her! Right here! Right now! What she just did to us was blatantly obvious!" He balls his fists and pounds them together as he talks, one atop of the other. "And don't you question my loyalty to this campaign. By speaking out against this, I am trying to save these people," he waves one hand manically towards Torq, Tomid and Krazok, "from making foolhardy mistakes when their minds are not their own! When their feelings are commanded by her! She may not have been responsible for the nobleman's death, and she and I have already spoken to that, but now she persists in doing the same things that led up to that fateful encounter. The one I am soon to lie about to his family to protect us all!"

Klaus' roll is thrown off by Fizzwiddle's next question, about whether he is taking joy from the brief argument. The bard's words seem to be a cold rain on a forest fire. It continues to burn, but not so recklessly. He lowers the tone of his voice and his animated gestures.

"You can have your song and your poetry and your pie. But why can I not have my dignity in return, and instead must be subject to her enchantments while you defend her? You treat her like she has no control over herself. I treat her like an adult, assuming she, like any other adult, knows exactly what she is doing."
