Niadroub Kliip |

Niadroub Kliip directs his flaming sphere onto the only troll he can currently see (red).
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4) = 12
The ball of fire winks out after burning the troll, but the aracanist barely notices as he's already casting a second flaming sphere spell on the same spot the previous one occupied.
Damage again!: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) = 11
I keep forgetting to mention that Reflex 15 negates. And please reposition the call-out to the bottom right square that the red troll currently occupies.

Richard Harmon |

Richard draws his sword and strikes as the troll draws close, knowing he must buy time for the others to put down more of the trolls.
Aldori Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

GM_DBH |

Botting Xantria
attack on Red: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
attack on Red Crit?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14
Reflex Red on Second Flaming sphere: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Red avoids the first flaming sphere only to step into it's replacement from Niadroub.
Realized I needed another Ref save.
Colwyn puts a nasty arrow into Red.
As do Reknar & Richard.
Xantria cuts deeply with a perfect strike.
Badly wounded Red ignores his pain and lashes out at Xantria.
Bite Red vs Xantria: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Claw Red vs Xantria: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Claw Red vs Xantria: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
damage Bite: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
damage Claw: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
damage Claw: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
damage Rend: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
34 points of damage to Xantria
Purple stumbles out of the trees and snaps at Richard.
Bite Purple vs Richard: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
damage Bite: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Green does the same to Reknar, but misses.
Bite Green vs Reknar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
The party may now act.

Zelera |

What was the result of the suggestion spell?

Niadroub Kliip |

Niadroub Kliip pulls his flaming sphere back to follow the red troll.
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4) = 14 <--Reflex 15 negates, but he's on the grease spell, so maybe that affects his chances? I think we forgot to have him roll vs. the grease last round when he moved forward. That would have been a Reflex 14.
At the same time, he unloads his crossbow bolt on the green troll.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 1

Xantria Aldori |

Sorry for not posting sooner. Guess that's what I get for forgetting - Xan's now down to just 5 HP. Although that bite would've missed - her normal AC is 18 and it would've been 19 vs melee if she made a full attack that round.
Crying out as the troll tore into her, Xan realised she had to fall back.
Withdraw action, though she'll still provoke an AoO from Purple if it has a 10' reach, so hopefully this Acrobatics check to avoid it is good.
Acrobatics to avoid AoO from Purple: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
EDIT: And I'll fix up her statblock now - I think the AC she has there is from before she got her armour enchanted.

Richard Harmon |

Richard holds his ground as the troll's teeth tear into him and takes the opportunity to drive his blade into it's shoulder.
Aldori Dueling Sword Vs Purple: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Colwyn the Toad |

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Colwyn attempts to vanish back into the brush surrounding the nearby tree, but a very brittle branch snaps underfoot. He hisses a particularly vulgar Hallit curse when the two closest trolls stare right at him.
He turns, draws his bowstring one more time, aims for the troll attacking Richard, and asks Erastil to bless his shot and damn these trolls.
Using last daily use of the Stag Helmet to catch target flat-footed.
MWK Shortbow vs Purple, Inspired, Precise and Point Blank Shot: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 29
Crit?: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 15
Damage w/ Sneak Attack: 3d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6, 1, 5) + 1 + 1 = 14
Extra Crit Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Total damage of 22 if the crit confirms.

GM_DBH |

I noted that Zelera's spell on purple failed, and rolled two dex saves for the flaming shere.
Ref Red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Ref Red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Red keeps his footing, but also catches the Flaming sphere that Niadroub is happily and lethally sending around the battlefield. He expires in a heap.
Those Flaming spheres are really paying off. It's what's stopping the Trolls from regenerating and getting back up.
Colwyn & Richard both hit Purple.
Purple roars in anger and lashes out at Richard.
Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
damage claw: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
damage claw: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
damage Rend: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
26hp damage to Richard.
Greengoes to maul Reknar
Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
And misses completely? The useless bastard!
The party may now act. Purple is badly wounded but healing. Green is untouched.

Richard Harmon |

"Niadroub, this one needs to die before I do if you can manage it." Richard stabs at the troll once more before stepping back a little and drawing a potion of cure moderate wounds... perhaps he would stay conscious long enough to drink it if fortune favoured him.
Aldori Dueling Sword Vs Purple: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Zelera |

Sorry, I missed seeing it before. I do now though.
Stepping back from the nearest of the trolls, and putting a trap between her and it, Zelera began to prey as she gestured. When she finished a searing bolt of light shot from her holy symbol but the trees and the fact she didn't want to hit her allies caused the spell to miss it's mark.
searing light w/into melee: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 4 = 32d8 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Targeting green.

Reknar Heldergast |

I did not act last round - doing it now:
As the monstrosity waded in on him and missed, Reknar took a step behind, throwing his bow to the side, and drawing his bardiche. Finding a decent footing, he swinged - "Time for getting into the nitty gritty! Let's go!" - he urges his companions.
Targetting Green.
MW Cold Iron Bardiche: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
This round:
Changing his targetting, this time around Reknar decides to go for the foe engaging Richard - "Let me at it!"
Targetting Purple.
MW Cold Iron Bardiche: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Is it a crit?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Additional damage if it is: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Attacks are with Arcane Strike and Inspire Courage. AC is 24 due to Shield.

Niadroub Kliip |

"Niadroub, this one needs to die before I do if you can manage it."
Niadroub Kliip nods. "Dreenk a pootion!" he hollers as he focuses on sending the flaming sphere south to Richard's troll.
Hey, I can edit the map, today! If purple is already dead, the sphere should be able to reach green instead.
damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2) = 13 <--Reflex 15 negates
After he sends the mental command to his giant ball of fire, he casts another grease spell, this time on the southern most green troll.
Spending an arcane reservoir point to make the grease's Reflex DC 15.

Niadroub Kliip |

Those Flaming spheres are really paying off. It's what's stopping the Trolls from regenerating and getting back up.
What's more, I didn't have it memorized when we first noticed the trolls! The Quick Study arcanist exploit saves the day.

Colwyn the Toad |

I think Yellow is down but regenerating. Hopefully we can finish these last two before it gets back up to surprise us.
Colwyn tosses aside his bow. With a hoarse, growling roar, he barrels forward while drawing his rapier.
He pushes past his allies and thrusts his blade forth with all his might.
Scout's Charge: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 26
Damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4, 2) + 3 = 11
Targeting Purple, unless it is down, in which case I will target Green.

GM_DBH |

Richard slashes Purple and backs away.
Reknar hits Green then turns and sends Purple to the ground with a lethal strike.
Zelera misses with her spell.
Niadroub. Purple was down but not dead when you sent the Flaming sphere in his direction. You can roll a ref save while unconscious. Just with heavy penalties. Since he failed anyway I didn't go looking it up. :)
Ref: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The unconscious Purple fails to resist the Flaming sphere and expires without waking again.
Colwyn zips past every one and slams his rapier deep into Green
Ref save Green vs Grease: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Green ignores Colwyn and steps out of the Grease to follow Reknar
Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Bite damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
13hp damage to Reknar.
Yellow groans and sits up.
The party may now act.

Xantria Aldori |

Last Round, because I'm a slow and forgetful bastard. Also, I'll update her HP above in a sec because I forgot to remove the damage from that bite I said should've missed.
Injured, but with the way somewhat clear, Xan headed for her dropped bow and recovered it, sheathing her sword as she moved.
Move action to sheath sword and move to bow, standard to pick the bow back up.
This round
Moving back towards the group somewhat, she took a shot at the troll the others were engaging.
Composite Longbow Attack vs Green: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Just realised; I forgot to factor in the "target in melee" penalty and anything that might be coming from the terrain.

Niadroub Kliip |

Niadroub Kliip sends his flaming sphere at the yellow troll that just sat up, trying to maneuver it so it doesn't set fire to the forest around it. The ball of fire lands on the troll and stops for a moment before it sputters out.
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15 <--Reflex 15 negates
Sweating in concentration, the arcanist casts his final flaming sphere of the day on top of the green troll the party is engaged with.
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2) = 14 <--Spending an A.R. point to make this Reflex 16 negates

Richard Harmon |

Richard drinks his potion of cure moderate wounds before stepping back again and drawing out a tanglefoot bag as the troll in the underbrush stands up once more.
Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 8) + 3 = 13

Colwyn the Toad |

Colwyn hops back from the troll, lest it turns its foul claws and teeth upon him.
He quickly draws his dagger and, with a flick of his wrist, hurls it for the beast's breast.
Dagger, Thrown vs Green: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Trying to position myself for another Scout's Charge against whichever of the two is still standing next round - if either of them are.

Zelera |

With the fight seemingly well handled Zelera began moving around the trees and made her way back to the rest of her companions. She suspected her skills might well be needed and she knew she should get to them so she was in the right place at the right time.

GM_DBH |

Ref save Yellow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Ref save Green: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Ok, since Yellow only had just got back to being conscious that damage knocks him down again, and he can't regenerate anymore. So he's dead Jim. That just leaves Green to deal with, but he dodged the Flaming Sphere this round. Just waiting for Reknar to take his shot

GM_DBH |

Botting Reknar.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Ignoring it's wounds as all its kind do the Troll continues to try and maul Reknar to death.
Bite Green vs Reknar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Claw Green vs Reknar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Claw Green vs Reknar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
The party may now act. Less than 10hp left, even with regen. Finish it!

Reknar Heldergast |

"You'll have to do better than that!" - Reknar roared at the troll, and swinged hard again.
MW Cold Iron Bardiche: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
"Bah! They're not much to look at once you scrape'em off your boot" - he grunts as the creature goes down, then waits for Niadroub to torch it.
Colwyn, I don't want to nuke you but I believe taking a 5' foot back from the troll does not put you in line for Scout's Charge again, since to charge you need to move at least 10'? Also, even with Scout's Charge you still risk an AoO when closing in like that on bad guys with Reach. Big risk ;)

Richard Harmon |

Seeing only one troll still standing Richard puts the tanglefoot bag away and sheaths his sword.

Colwyn the Toad |

Hmm, I forgot about the reach-triggered AoO, but since there are two squares between us, I believe I have the 10' needed for the charge.
Also, Reknar, is Inspire Courage still active?

Colwyn the Toad |

Acrobatics to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
Scout's Charge w/ +1 Rapier: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 27 (-2 if I don't have distance to charge)
Crit?: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 18
Base Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
Scout's Charge Damage?: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Crit Damage?: 1d6 ⇒ 5
With some running room, Colwyn lunges forward, ducking and weaving out of the way of the troll's claws.
He thrusts his magic steel upward, piercing just behind the jaw bone, and skewers the foul beast through the skull.

Zelera |

Seeing how badly hurt Xantria was Zelera quickly weaved through the fighting to reach the woman. She quickly began to pray and gesture then reached out with a golden hued light on her hand to touch her companion. When she did the golden light began to seep into her and heal her wounds.
Convert blndness/deafness to cure serious.
cure serious: 3d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4, 7) + 4 = 17
Once she realized the last of of the trolls had gone down Zelera breathed a sigh of relief. The plan had worked quite well and she was more than happy to see they had survived. "If anyone else is injured come over here away from the troll remains, I don;t want to restore them by accident." Once they had moved away she used her holy symbol to channel a burst of diving light to heal everyone a little.
channel: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) = 6

Reknar Heldergast |

"That was a damned impressive display of teamwork, ladies and gentlemen - well done!" - Reknar smiles around at the others - "And thank you for that" - he offers a nod at Zelera for the healing - "That damned troll got too close for comfort"
At 15hp now.

Zelera |

Realizing how hurt Reknar had become Zelera chanted once again. the resulting glow this time wasn't as bright as the one she used on Xantria but she figured it would be enough. She reached out to touch Reknar with the glowing light and the rest of his wounds healed as the energy seeped into his body. "There, that should do it."
cure moderate: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 8) + 5 = 20

Richard Harmon |

At 20 out of 35 after the channel
"If you have some healing to spare it would be apprecisted." Richard says but lets others be healed first.
"Well done by all. Let us check them for items of interest and then construct a pyre... unless someone has a use for them?

Xantria Aldori |

"Thanks, Zelera," Xan said as her magic went to work, feeling a little sheepish that she'd had to retreat but still feeling more well-disposed to the cleric (even if she still wasn't too sure about her patron).
"I'm not sure what use we'd have for troll meat - reminds me of that stupid story about a barbarian carrying a troll's 'member' around in a bag of holding for years."
They never went into detail on how they got hold of it in the first place, just that it involved Tiberius disguising himself as a female troll to distract a pair of male ones and that things almost went very badly for him had the rest of the team not showed up in time. Apparently the relevant amputation was performed via a well-aimed arrow from Vex.

Niadroub Kliip |

Niadroub Kliip spends some time after the battle is over giving each of the troll corpses an acid splash, just in case. He doesn't want anything from the bodies.
"E'm oot of megic. Noo more feights today."

Colwyn the Toad |

"I'd be keen on seeing their heads on stakes," Colwyn says, spitefully kicking one of the large green corpses, "but not enough to fancy hauling them all the way back home. Let's just put them to the pyre, then get home to warm ourselves by the hearth."

Niadroub Kliip |

Niadroub Kliip looks at Colwyn consideringly, but ultimately doesn't say anything. He starts to clear a space for a pyre.
I forget: Were we exploring, or were we heading somewhere?

GM_DBH |

You were exploring to the West when you ran into one of Kingmakers famous random encounters. :)
Your return to Thornford and recover from the arduous fight. News spreads rapidly of your victory and you are all feted as heroes by your happy populace.
Trolls are not popular visitors anywhere it seems.
Once recovered you can set again. Where are you heading?

Richard Harmon |

Head out west again and then south to the next row when we get to the edge?

Colwyn the Toad |

As the rest of the party recuperates, Colwyn uses the morning to stroll the dusty paths of his town. He takes a deep breath of air, savoring it despite the smokey tinge wafting up from the foundry. He briefly stops by the shrine to offer thanks to Old Deadeye for helping him and his coterie to slay those trolls. The victory has left Colwyn with a sense of catharsis, as though he actually avenged himself against the trolls that ate his mother.
He leaves the shrine and swaggers down to field that has been serving as a marketplace. Richard had directed him to a contact with connections within this or that noble house, and who could help secure more lucrative deals.
Going to put Richard's new False Allegiance ability to good use and clear out some items from our collective inventory.
MWK Falchion x9 (375 x 9 x 0.6 = 2025gp)
MWK Longspear x1 (305 x 0.6 = 183gp)
MWK Greatclubs x6 (305 x 6 x 0.6 = 1098gp)
MWK Breastplates x6 (350 x 6 x 0.6 = 1260gp)
MWK Heavy Shield x1 (170 x 0.6 = 102gp)
MWK Chain Shirts x9 (250 x 9 x 0.6 = 1350gp)
MWK Std Leather x1 (175 x 0.6 = 105gp)
Total Sale Value = 6123gp

Niadroub Kliip |

Divided by 6, that's 1,020 gp and 5 sp each.
Edit: Wait, did you add that to the "Currency" column on the party loot, or is that intended to split between all of us. What's the purpose of the Currency on the Party Loot spreadsheet? Apologies if you've already covered this.

Colwyn the Toad |

I don't think we've discussed this before, so it's probably good to bring it up now. The "Currency" column documents how much coinage is in our communal pool. Whenever we find cash, I add it to the column. Whenever someone wants to order an item or withdraw money, I subtract that from the column.
I have not yet added the value of these recently sold items to the Currency tab. If we wanted to simply split these proceeds, we could do that instead.
