Here are some characters who will be at the social whose role you may have an interest in dictating. For example: a character can be told they'll play kitchen staff to keep them away from the general populace. A PC can choose to play a server, to have ample opportunity to speak with others in the tavern. You can ask to generally keep a character safe, and I'll keep them out of any obvious danger. The ☾ indicates how many sections their LTP clock would have if you were spending a Downtime action to make them a friend. Trying to befriend them during the mission will be about as easy, but will take time away from the mission. This is also a list of everyone who will be at future socials, if you want to think ahead to future Downtime Actions.
The Agents of Darkness:
Azumamaro - 2☾ - an Agent of Darkness who stands on the precipice of Eclipse
???? - 8☾ - One other Agent of Darkness whom you have not met before.
Friendly Faces:
Sora - 8☾ - A veteran hero who can't bear the burden again
Kyou - 6☾ - Ao's younger sister and delinquent human
Benji - 2☾ - A human from another dimension who works with Tracy's ex
???? - 3☾ - A face Tracy can't place, but recognizes.
Seven others you have not met, and are only important if you make them. You could say you're looking for someone who's good at something, and I'll tell you if you find someone.
Our Team Rocket:
Takara - 12☾ - A senior citizen in charge of training yokai
Nijitan - 10☾ - A teen who knows no other world
Retired PCs whom you could assign off-screen tasks, like watching the Agents of Darkness, or performing propaganda and coded messages on stage:
Junpei, Cygnus, Astre, Raven

Unfortunate that your posts got orphaned. :(
I think that the goal is the reclamation of the objects of power! We're hoping to snag those shiny rocks to help our friend, after all. Or at least... you guys are. Chessa wants to perform a heist in the middle of a social function. Because that is fun and cool and exciting!
Chessa wants to seat Azumamaro with Sora, bringing the broken bird back to her doorstep. I don't think the two ever met, at least not directly!
I think putting sharp knife girl into the kitchen until time to go seems wise, because she'd likely enjoy it there.
Who else do you guys think we should position, and where?

Every good show needs at least one heist episode, so I'm down for that certainly.
That said, BastianQuin, am I interpreting your words correctly that, technically, all of those potential missions would be taking place at/during the LARP/social?
On an unrelated note, if we are going to continue to have promises be a thing, I would second or possibly forward the motion that we see if we can't bring in at least one or two new players, else wise our promises will always & only be between the three of us...
that said, Tracy's impossible promise regarding Ao managed to be the key that finally unlocked my most recent creative block, so, yay!...

Sharp knife girl? Petrichor? Don’t let her be seen, and keep her away from the agents of Darkness. You don’t need three potential creatures of Darkness on top of the potential fallen angel. (Yeah, I said three.)
That said, BastianQuin, am I interpreting your words correctly that, technically, all of those potential missions would be taking place at/during the LARP/social?
The listed missions are things you can accomplish during this episode. Completing one gets the team 1 xp, completing multiple gets the team 2 xp. Some of them also overlap with other ways of gaining team xp. (listed if you hover over Team xp on the team sheet) Picking a mission as 'the mission' gives me context for the engagement roll, and for what signals the end of the episode. You can fail the episode, and still get 2 xp for completing missions.
Chessa is actually a part of the dungeon party. She is in a position to stall, attempt some bonus xp with side quests, or secure the eggs herself.
Tracy and Ao were only able to get into the house arrest by participating in the social, a team building exercise held in the tavern where the party is set to 'return victorious and laden with spoils, looking for rumors and quest hooks'. Some of the purity committee will be more enthusiastic than others. What does this have to do with the eggs? Side quests! You may want to rush to the dungeon, muster allies, or lay in wait for their return, depending on how the engagement roll goes.
On an unrelated note, if we are going to continue to have promises be a thing, I would second or possibly forward the motion that we see if we can't bring in at least one or two new players, else wise our promises will always & only be between the three of us...

Good to hear the promises are serving as an inspiration. I’ll open recruitment in a bit. Gotta write a good summary for someone entering through the pity party, and clone some character sheets...
Busy day at work today, might take some time...

You could swear you know them, but can't recall their name. You might be able to depend on them to pull punches, but the stranger looks like they wish their knives were sharp.
Sharp knife girl!
I know she'll be moving on with the party, but if she wants to play with sharp knives, then Chessa wants to give her the opportunity, by investing her in the kitchen's prep work!

At the start of the mission, Chessa and the adventuring party will be in the dungeon. Ao, Tracy, and the purity committee will be at the tavern.
Hiro and the ripper aren't part of the purity committee and therefore are not characters you can determine the roles of.
The engagement roll will determine how urgently the tavern folks need to find their way to the dungeon.

Can anyone tell I'm excited? I'm excited.
If I do anything in my writing that conflicts with your character concept let me know. I do try to customize descriptions for the character witnessing them.
Also, feel free to read spoilers. They're mostly there to contain the deluge of logorrhea and help you zero in on what you need to react to. Totally okay if you don't.

I mean, it's entirely possible that they spend the whole time playing house and snorting spirit money off of white picket fences, but the pantsing of Brilliance has shifted to a schism between the hot kidz and the cool kidz, and Chessa was involved in that shift.
It's been a while, I might have forgotten something. I wouldn't want to be denying you the benefit of an action, if that's what you mean. :v

:p Nah, it's fine. The Darkness just doesn't get to USE MAH PARTY, because it was offered as a Dark Bargain (at least, in my mind) that I refused. That doesn't mean the 'freed spirits' that don't attend the social can't be jerked around by Ayatori. :P Carry on!
I'm just being a pouter. :) I think it's perfectly valid to do what you're doing :P Just, the party itself, doesn't advance the agenda in some way. Social mixers always advance agendas, and the kids outside don't have to agree to the party rules! :)

Totally don't mind adding in characters, or a little overlap in the controll of characters like friends and enemies, and usually I operate with a 'yes and' policy, but I do think this character could use a different name.
Sounds like this character's role is something like a probation officer from Brilliance's re-education facility, something like skyward sword's Ghirahim in attitude?

'Ao' is Senshirou's childhood nickname. :) (Or maybe it was the Erohin name? These are all so fuzzy after years... ha, fuzzy.)
So you accidentally named a character 'blue-greenish' when we have a character named 'blue-green'. UTTER CHAOS would have occured, as phone autocorrects everywhere gave up on maintaining any sense of reality. :)

The funny bit is when you consider Ao dropped in late in Season 1 and named his step sister the same as one of the BBEGs. This was after I accidentally named a teen idol the same as a yandere Cafe maid.
It's caused problems in my DM notes, so I'm trying ever so hard to avoid it going forward.
If there are no objections, this is the Engagement roll I'll be writing the mission opener from:
Engagement: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2) = 13

I think that Chessa's Role in the adventuring party is that of SUMMONED BEAST. Familiar is much too small and needs to be protected, Animal Companion needs to always be there, must be ferocious, and still likely needs protection. What are your thoughts on that?

I'm afraid I don't understand. The 'masked' Nobody actually is her transcendent form! Her transcendent power lets her flashback in her superhero form to do something canonically prior to the current scene. That's why I appended it to the end of the scene as sort of a post-credits stinger.
Do you mean maskless Nobody is a warform? Or should I just turn into BIG CHESSA of the TWO TAILS?
I know that Ao used to do runes with his magics... but I really don't follow overall. :P

Chessa, being a nekomata and a japanese-style (original flavor) yokai, has some trickster magic. It's not as varied as a tanuki might have, but like them, kitsune, tengu, etc, Chessa has a few simple forms used to fool humans. In this world, that usually includes a portable form and a combat form. (This holds true for most yokai in this world)
Mechanically, as an Enigma, you have your 'natural' identity, and your 'transcendent' identity.
How I understood it, obergruppenführer kitty (and any shapeshift forms which exist within reason) are your 'natural' form, which is not recognized by the party. Goodfriend Nobody is your 'mask' a trickster magic clone of your Transcendent self which doesn't burn your four Transcendent actions. Wielder-of-an-Unnamed-Power Nobody is a Transcendent form, and burns your limited "magic-tier" actions.
I make this call to encourage you to take actions with your teammates while also making a big deal out of the overwhelming power of Transcendent moves and the transience of that form for others. If they run out of Transcendent Actions, they poof back to normal forms. Chessa poofs back to the form she had before Transcending (which might be mask-form) to support the unmasking part of "Shrouded in Secrets".
Also, Chessa isn't old enough for two tails without the magatama. Unnatural features (mostly extra tails or limbs for some reason) take a century of magic use to manifest. From a comment Ayatori has made, he's at least 200 years old, but his magic has been stolen so many times he's sitting at under a century of magic, and would be a normal non-talking crow if someone had stolen it one more time. (Stealing magic from yokai was an alternative to making a pact available in Season 1. It came with drawbacks Chessa's player is familiar with.)

Shuji is a classically trained chef who used to work in the mayor's mansion. This kitchen was his. It was shockingly bare of knives, and all the fuel is missing from stuff like the souffle torch, but all things "kitchen" exist in this space, especially appliances which may have been nostalgic to Tracy, and an out of place, beat up, single cup coffee maker.

Here's how I'm remembering it:
Aila, L, like a drafter's square, got to be an engineer, and doesn't miss girly things. Wears blue. Works for Temerity, is in the Purity Committee.
Aina, n for natural, as in has to work with organics, and prefers older traditions. Wears red. Works for Mercy, not in the Purity Committee.
Our cultural shoulder angels.
If I've got those sorted, I think we can remember that. If that's not right, I've just doomed us all.
