Ghun easily jumps to the first pad (1st of 4 required rolls) which immediately begins to descend towards the floor. It looks like each pad can only support 200 lbs. at a time. Ghun must decide: jump to the next pad, jump back to the platform, or ride the pad to the bottom of the room.

Eng tries his luck at pad hopping, only to find the most ill of fortunes as he plummets to the ground FAR below non-lethal damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 lethal damage: 8d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 5, 1, 6, 2, 6) = 27. Orett jumps onto a nearby pad only to discover the source of the droning buzz that reverberates across the cavern: A glittering blue dragonfly about the size of a horse!

It darts past Orett biting as it flies by 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 192d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11

Ghun and Daardra can hear Orett's faint cries of alarm from far below. Daardra must wait for the pad that Orett jumped on to ascend again (2 rounds).

Without rope or other conveyance, magic, flight, etc. Eng will be unable to climb the 100' to the platform above.

Ghun realizes he will have to hold the rope and succeed at 3 STR checks to lift Eng and Orett. He figures Eng will be pretty easy, but Orett, Orett is quite heavy....
