Just so I'm clear, Valen has entered the room to examine the holy symbols?
As your group gather around the cell door, Smith with his hammer in hand, you can easily make out the skeleton laid out on the floor, its body draped in a dozen chains - each with a different holy symbol etched into it.
Valen Stellori
Apologies - I had thought Smith had already entered and was following along (being a little squishy on the HP side). I'll wait until the detection magics give us a better picture before going in and assume that the details of the spoiler doesn't apply. If it's too late to make that change, then I'll run with it.
Valen starts to look in - curious about the holy symbols - but stops, a little nervous at Vaghn's implication that this might be one the more notorious villains of the prison. "After the encounter with the Piper, not sure what to make of this then..."
Creel
Creel's smile turns a tad puzzled as we contemplate the bound man.
"Well they certainly did not want whoever this was to leave. I have seen fewer chains on ocean going ships."
Assuming det evil is going nuts at this point.
Valen Stellori
Seeing no immediate danger, Vaghn enters the cell, buckler forward, other hand gripping his whip.
Given Vaghn's recent assistance to him against the stirges and the Piper, Valen decides to follow - keeping watch on the professor. "No sense letting the man go alone..." he adds with a shrug.
He calls upon Pharasma to give him a touch of her "vision" - hoping it will help identify the looming threat. Deathwatch
Not sure if this will help or not in this situation, but thought I'd give it a whirl.

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 hmmm lovely decor. See how the lightness of the cobwebs sets off the heaviness of the lead holy symbols?

"We should not trouble these poor dead bones further. Let us close the cell and move on. No doubt we will find out more further in. Perhaps the prison offices have survived."
Voting for heading east to the tables. Perhaps a cafeteria? Not that interested in the privy.
Alexa Grunwald
Alexa shakes her head: No, I sense some powerful entity in here that reeks of undead. I do not know what it is, but it is here, probably waiting and watching.
Sorry, not quite sure what the next step is. Has anyone actually touched the skeleton yet? Also, RGM, is the undead presence coming from the skeleton, or elsewhere in the cell?
Creel
Between what det evil is giving me and Alexa's description does Creel have enough data to hazard a Kn. Religion roll to get a clue? If so 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 kn religion.
Valen Stellori
Looking at the chains, Valen adds to the commentary. "Yes - someone or something is watching us. Looks like 'Father Charlatan' managed to anger quite a few faiths and I'm guessing that's why he's still here. I imagine there's no pleasant afterlife is in store for him if he goes to the Lady's Judgement Hall."
He leans towards Vaghn for confirmation and adds: "Best be on our way." If the presence continues to follow us out, Valen will try a positive energy channel to disperse or push it back.
Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Alexa Grunwald
Alexa looks at Valen: Whatever it was, you have driven it away. Whether it is permanently gone, or only temporarily banished, I do not know. But, let us continue our search of this horrid place before it returns.
Valen Stellori
"Some where within these ruined walls must be a clue as to how to settle these undead for good. The cult who claimed the professors life have much to answer for."
"Aye - let's hope we can find some answers and help bring this place to rest," Valen adds in agreement with Madeline. He gives the punished skeleton one more look and a small blessing: "Pharasma have mercy on you..."
Valen Stellori
Unless there is a differing opinion, I believe we are heading east - towards the broken tables and chairs. I agree with Creel - not much interest in the privy chamber. Valen will be looking around, in case something else catches the eye.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Even if there is something in the privy Creel won't want to know. Just saying. East it is.

Okay all, I'm back - at least mostly.
Wooden benches once lined this large hall, but several are now stacked in a jumble and others are overturned in disarray. Weakened by fire, the entire east wall has collapsed away, creating an unintended entryway to a wooden deck beyond. The view of the lake beyond would be beautiful if the silence were not so eerie.
Madeline Peshtussle
Madeline looks towards the fallen wall and the view out into the world,
"What's the bet that the floor near that rather nice view is as treacherous as the scene is calm?" She asks, even as she gazes about at the other remains within the space.
perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Valen Stellori
Any stairs downward that we have spotted? Got to be a way down to the floor we bypassed with the front door. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Valen proceeds ahead to Smith and makes some tenative steps onto the floor - hoping to see if it leads them downward someway. "That rope we brought may prove handy for climbing down afterall," he states pleasantly - almost forgetting they are in the middle of haunted prison and not on a country jaunt.

ALL - So far, you've searched the northern portion of this floor, found the ancient privy, and explored nearly all of the prison cells on the western portion of this floor. You have yet to explore the central portion of this floor, the southern walls, or most of the eastern side.

Ah - apologies then. I had thought we passed through the central portion when we crossed over from the western to the eastern side. Unless its an issue, I suggest we backtrack to the southern side and central areas before coming back to the east side.
Looking at the wooden deck, Valen pauses with apprehension in his voice. "You know - I did spy another hallway going south on the way over here. Perhaps...perhaps we should investigate that first." He has that look of hoping someone will agree.

I try to use MapTools to keep a map and then just upload them to Google Docs as needed. I am running the Temple of Elemental Evil which would probably be impossible to do without a map as it as a massive multi-level dungeon crawl - the first level is 350'x480' with 53 rooms.
The party has not gotten there, but are about to start another intro dungeon which is not much smaller with 20 rooms.
