The boy excited to be with a band that infiltrated this den of horrors, walked along side Vladimir at the rear of the group. "No, this was the only door that I found. I don't know much of the lay out, since I was hiding the whole time though. Don't think of me as a coward though, If I was armed and not injured I would have stood my ground! I hope Sir Balin is alright, I'm sure glad that you all came when you did. I think that I may have been a goner if I had been there for any longer."
The group continues back in to the room where they felled the Vampire Mist, which was still a dead still pool of gelatinous material on the floor.

Goodie Thornmaple |

Goodie gives Vlad a stare so cold that there is little confusion about her thoughts his eating the child (without necessary cause).
"Don't worry, love. Children are treasures. Timeon, tell me more as we walk. How do you know of the mithral cobras, shrieker, or the way out?"
Edited.

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Kharn follows behind the child, and places the holy symbol of Asmodeus in his backpack hidden from view.

Argan Midnight |

Argan examines the door (perception 24), if that has not been done yet, and if it's ok he opens it.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Vlad walks along, keeping the boy in front of him.. He understood Goodie's glare, but he would do what he needed to once the time came for it.. "If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.. Our path isn't for the weak stomached.."

Argan Midnight |

We're still waiting for the boy's answer to Goodie's question, right?
Argan walks up to the other door, fearless of traps or anything like that in the hallway. "What is there behind this door kid?" Once everyone is ready he opens the door to the next room.
Does anyone have Guidance?

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Kharn makes sure to stay close to Argan in case anything happens, but before he goes up he whispers to Eryan
"Maybe you should change your appearance, so that this 'Sir Balin' doesn't attack you on sight."

DM Yodler |

The boy looks up from his position in the back to answer the question that Goodie and Argan asked. "I was hiding the whole time and overheard someone talking about it. Not sure who it was, but they didn't know I was there, just heard them talking about the place. So I don't really know what or where anything is, just that they are there." He sighed "Sorry I can't be of more help."
Argan creaked the door open with vigor and enthusiasm, he looked into the room at the same time and noticed two large snakes with their heads both looking his way from across the room. The metallic shimmer in their eye cold and deadly.

Does Goodie know anything about these snakes?
She will direct her dark powers to afflict the lead snake with the Hex of Misfortune. (DC 16). If it fails it needs to make all rolls twice and select the lower roll. If the hex is successful, she will cackle to extend her bane.

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Kharn roars out and charges one of the snakes with his greatsword.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

I find myself wanting to just attack 2 handed all the time.. I think ill be swapping out for a mwk falchion after this.. At least till he gets a magical shield..

DM Yodler |

You do recall from your studies that the construct snakes before you are quite resistant to damage in general, which includes magic.

Kharn charged in a fierce flurry of blade and rage. He sliced through the metal body of the snake with ease, like watching a giant throwing a pebble. The gears and spinning parts within the automaton whirred and spun slower and slower, until they fell silent. Having the eyes of the once life like head dim.
Goodie looked at the remaining snake within the room with her supernatural abilities, setting upon it the doom. With a look upon the snake it seemed as though the supposed hex had no affect.
The other snake set upon the raging man looking to strike, in which he did. Kharn heard the release of a gas within the mouth of the snake, with a liquid shooting out of the fangs. What followed was a burning sensation that screamed up his arm, the man of men shook his arm and shrugged off the burning sensation with no ill effect.
Made your Fort Save and you passed with flying colors. You still take 4 damage. (Kharn)
In the side of Argan's vision he sees a flash of metal that moves in to strike at the man, the snake lunges at the rogue and hits the side of the wall instead of the rogue himself. Counting his blessings Argan gets ready as Timeon crouches in the corner waiting for the foray to end.
Can't even hit you flat footed lol.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Vlad attacks the remaining snake..
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
But misses horribly..

Argan Midnight |

I'll assume Snake number 2 is beside Kharn, isn't it?
Argan tries to move past the snake without getting hit to flank with Vlad, attacking it right after with a weapon in two hands:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Sabre (2H): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22! Damage: 1d8 + 7 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + (5) + 1 = 16 (-5 if its immune to precision damage)

DM Yodler |

@Argan: correct thank you for pointing that out. Also not immune to precision damage ;)
Argan quickly moves into action deftly dodging another of the snakes bites and he moved to flank his opponent. After maneuvering around the metal construct, he struck aptly with a two handed swing of his sawtooth sabre. The sabre sunk into the metal surrounding the snake, you heard the grinding of gears and springs. The snake seems to have been damaged in some sort, but still standing with the large gash in the side of it's body.

Argan Midnight |

Kharn smash! I know we're enjoying having two new games to play at and new characters, but let's keep up the pace here folks! It's not hard!

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Sorry all just got back so here's my action.
Kharn still angry swings at the snake nearest to him.
Attack snake #2
Attack w/PA: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 4) + 12 = 22
But he's still hurting from the venom, and so he misses. He steps back to get ready in case the snake moves forward.

Combat Round 2

Snake 3 Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Both the opposing snake looses interest and gets drawn to the sound of the clash of metal at Argan's location. The snake whips around behind the man and strikes out simultaneously with the other snake. The attacks fall short and Argan is left unscathed through the exchange. The eyes of the snakes still glowing a murderous red, they wait for their next chance to strike.
Timeon continues to cower in the corner, taking a peek through his fingers to gauge the danger around him.
No Damage taken by the metal beasts this round...damn you hex!

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Vlad will attack #3, which he's had flanked with Argan..
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
And he scores a hit, dealing some damage..

Goodie Thornmaple |

Thanks, Vlad, I was about to be very confused since it is an Su ability that is not mind effecting. Don't forget that Goodie is cackling to extend the effect to the following round.

Argan Midnight |

Argan sees Vlad destroying Snake number 3, so he sidesteps to get number two with a powerful two-handed blow, caring not about hitting a weak spot:
Sabre (2H): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21! Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
He then draws his second Sabre, ready to deliver more strikes next round.
Some flanking please?

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Coulda just attacked #3, which you were already flanked with and killed it.. Matter of fact ur AC 21 misses the snake.. Attacking the one u had flanked would have hit and maybe killed it..

Argan Midnight |

I believe you killed it Vladamir.

Argan Midnight |

I think it was disabled, but if it is not dead I'll attack snake 3 instead Yodler.

DM Yodler |

Don't worry the snake died ;)
@Goodie: I didn't forget, I had them listed as 2 rounds, while it was alive.
Vladamir's sword slices through the air with ease. Causing the once moving parts of the one snake to seize and grind to a halt. The eyes's of the snake dimmed to a dark black with the furious blow. Argan also readied himself to strike at the snake behind him, striking out quickly as he moved. Unfortunately his strikes did not hold true.
Combat Round 2
Kharn > Goodie > Snakes > Timeon > Argan > Vladamir > Eryan
Snakes AC22 T15 FF18 CMD15
Kharn: 4
Snake 1: Dead
Snake 2: 0
Snake 3: Dead

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Kharn moves up to flank with Argan and swings at the snake.
Attack w/flank: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 4) + 9 = 15
But he swung horizontally when he should have swung vertically.
7 rounds of rage left.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Post snake going Vlad will charge it..
Attack+Charge-PA: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Damage+PA: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
And lands another solid hit..
Sorry for goin out of turn, but i was heading to bed..

DM Yodler |

Combat Round 3

Snake 2: 9
Snake 3: Dead

Snake Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Damage 1: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Damage 2: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Wow sucky snake rolls again :( No fun lol.
The group quickly surrounded the remaining metallic snake in hopes to overwhelm it by numbers. All but one failed to hit, but that hit proved to be somewhat effective. The metal body torn and pieces fell out, but the snake remained operational. It craned it's neck and struck out against Argan yet again. The lunge was yet again parried by one of Argan's blades, denying it any part of his body to sink it's fangs.
I guess i'll wait until later to break out the crits.

Argan Midnight |

Just as a side note, I like your crappy rolls!
Argan huffs and puffs and slices and attempts to destroy the little thing:
Sabre 1: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23! Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + (2) + 1 = 15
Sabre 2: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20! Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + (3) + 1 = 10
One blow connects, sending pieces of gears flying through the place.

DM Yodler |

The final blow dealt by Argan, causes the final snake to fall to the ground in a lifeless manner. Waiting a bit just in case the snakes move any more proves fruitless as they are all motionless on the ground, and are seeming to stay that way. All that remains in the room are the three piles of lifeless metal upon the ground.
The three piles of metal on the ground look to be worth quite a lot. All the Mithral metal combined would be worth a total amount of 2100 gold. (10 lbs each pile @ 700 gold each pile.)
Before the group is also a barred door to the south, the door also bears an inscription: “Suffer not the fool. Stupidity is our faith’s cardinal sin.”

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"Worthless crap.. Lets be moving on.. What do yall make of that inscription.."

Argan Midnight |

Appraise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
"Not worthless at all, actually. These are not common cobras, made of iron. These are much finer, made of mithral, and thus the remains are worth a good amount." He does not state how much, but begins storing the pieces on a backpack. "That inscription? Let me think..."
K.Religion: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Is stupidity phrased by the Asmodeans or hunted by it? Or anything like that?

Vladamir Orlovsky |

"Huh.. Well that's twice now I've been wrong on the worth of something.. I'll be keeping my mouth shut in those areas from now on.."

Argan Midnight |

"Well, my interpretation is that" - his words slow down a bit, so his party may recall something - "followers of Asmodeus do not tolerate stupid people who do not study entirely the diabolic contracts the deity poses. We might take a better look at the room, so we know what they are plotting."
He walks around for a bit, studying carefully the walls for other secret doors or traps. Perception 24 on take20.

Argan Midnight |

I'll let the others add their comments to the phrase, and then I'll open the door.
