Aya's channel energy heals you as a golden light emanates from her body. 1d6 ⇒ 5. Kadin steps up to the Zombie 3 and misses. Dakaar roles past you all and the zombie trying to get it to the ground but fails to do so.We can discuss how special maneuvers work in Pathfinder at the game or check near the end of the combat section of the online reference document It swings with one jerky arm, 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 , 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9connecting wounding him(badly?). David's acid splash hits it in the face Second die for crit, 1d3 ⇒ 1. While Alcibades fire breath engulfs it. The zombie lashes out at Alcibades 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9,1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10.
ROUND 5
Aaron pivots on one foot and swings at the remaining zombie. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 , 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9, but misses.
ok I'm sure this round will finish it so we can be ready on Sunday. I also was rolling fire damage, but off screen. Thanks for being on top of things though.

What does this new individual look like? (Your note above was missing at least 1 word... "a [blank] runs into the ally".
A boy
Also, do I know anything about the Dottari?
They are the town guard.
Knowledge Local (if it applies): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
"Yes, let's get out of here."
Climb Check (if necessary to get over the wall): 3d6 + 0 ⇒ (5, 3, 6) + 0 = 14
you scale the wall in about 5 rounds. As you reach the top you hear footfalls and sound of armored men nearing the end of the ally. Arael has crossed the 10 foot span to the other side of the wall. He motions for you to follow.

Ichabod Crow |
As I follow stealthfully, I think to myself, how unusual for a cleric to run from the town guard. I'll have to uncover what he and the boy are up to. I'll try to see what if I can spot whatever he's looking for on the ground.
I whisper to Arael, "Is the boy one of the people you're looking for?"
Stealth Check: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1, 6) + 4 = 15
Perception Check: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) + 3 = 19

Fire ... 1d6 Reflex 16 ... As everyone probably knows a 9 did not hit me.
The zombie will be be dead with Kadin's hit, I just wanted to see what Aya is going to do.
The zombie goes down and the area seems clear.

Knowledge Local:3d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) + 7 = 24 What do I know of the Rego Despora? Have I heard of it being terrorized by gang members? And is it common practice for the town guard to ignore gangs, or is this gang special?
"Funny, a group of tieflings matching that description disapeared in the ally where you found me."

Dakaar |

When we have been travelling for about 5 minutes, Dakaar suggests we duck into the next suitable alley or abandoned building to remove our guard uniforms and release the prisoner's manacles. If quickly feasible, we should probably find a robe or something to conceal the prisoner's identity while we travel.
Once inside the building, we set the prisoner down in a chair and Dakaar motions for Ichabod and Alcibades to come over to a further corner of the room.
Dakaar eyes Ichabod and Alcibades up and down, and moves in closer to whisper.
"No one knows who we are, the best thing we could do is proceed normally, perhaps finding a robe for our 'friend' here.".
Dakaar turns to the other party members outside of earshot of the prisoner. "Do you suppose we can finally get paid for this complete disaster of a 'mission' now? This fellow certainly owes us at this point. Both in coin and in answers."
"I don't know how we got involved in this nonsense but what exactly have we been risking our lives for? A promise of payment from a few commoners that have no resources, manpower, or organization? Before the other night, I have not once had to resort to combat with guardsmen since my earliest jobs."
Dakaar stops his rant, and grins ear to ear a bit.
"Now, this most recent heist has bought you fine gentlemen a bit of respect and professional admiration, but think of what we could do working for competent, funded ehm.. Benefactors?"
"Playing by the rules, we can work discretely, get paid well, and not be labeled enemies of the state or heretics. Imagine that? Unless we can get this yokels to start planning properly and come up with funds to cover our expenses..."
The robed man pulls out his hooked and pouched belt holding his most readily available gear, to show the others.
"...right now, we barely were able to resupply to the amount we were before hellknights tried to chop off our heads. This is not acceptable. We'd probably make more coin turning him in to an interested party. Perhaps even gain some valuable contacts in the process. Maybe we should consider our course of action."
"Look: You want to harm the establishment, right? Thats fine, strife breeds infighting, and then all of a sudden I have more work than I can ask for. I don't care about your motives. Everyone has them, it usually boils down to the same thing: take someone out, remove a key figure at an important moment, intercept supplies to weaken the positions of defenders. Everyone has their high-and-mighty morals, but in the end, the deeds are always the same.
I'm not saying that we rush and turn this guy into the hellknights. But I think we should stop and consider how we could make the best out of this situation.
... I know an organization that might be interested in leveraging our newly acquired 'asset'. And more importantly we can stay out of the mess and keep this strictly business. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them. Is there anyone who would benefit from his return, and keep everyone happy at the same time? I'm reaching, I know, but for example, would the guard perhaps be thankful, if "Concerned parties" saved their prisoner from being taken away by the hellknights? We could gain some powerful allies.
Again, I don't usually find myself in these situations, so I'm open to suggestions. I just believe we should stop and consider our situation."
If the party still wants to take him to the safehouse, I will attempt to open his manacles.

I walk in the direction that the group went. I assume they are long gone and I do not pick up on their trail, but here's a perception check just in case: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) + 5 = 14
If it ends up I notice anything, I'll follow the lead. If not, I'll slowly make my way back to the safe house while playing my mandolin and singing to myself.

Knowledge Local 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 Do the authorities every make trades for information? Ar they known to honor these trades? Like let the small fry go to catch the boss? Or is this considered a major crime?
Also, OOC to Matt i believe Aaron is with us.

Kadin |

Also, thanks so much for the cube. Just... Thanks for that.

Dakaar |

"OK. In the spirit of good business, we will return this man to the church.
When we return this is our story:
'In the spirit of friendship and professionalism, as we were told that your organization will now be our new employers, we daringly rescued you from imprisonment, torture, or worse from the hellknights. We did this without arousing suspicion or harming any innocents. Surely by now the guard must realize something is up, but they do not necessarily know who or why you have been freed. This might even look like an internal power play between the guard.
As a professional courtesy we will charge a modest 2000 GP to free you so that we may cultivate our future business and that our working relationship may be pleasing to both parties.'
(Aside To Aaron, Alcibades, Ichabod, DM: We will go as low as 1000GP, giving us some wiggle room in our initial offer)
'As you can see, our group is capable of completing tasks with precision and discretion. I'm sure you will be returning to us for your needs in the future.'
Dakaar returns and attempts to open the manacles of the prisoner, so that we can make better time back to the safehouse.

Kadin |

So... We got out of the sewers after being eaten by a gelatinous cube, finding a tiefling baby, and some other stuff that thankfully did not involve killing any more Hell Knights. And getting to level 2. Ding!
We then met up with Ichabod and a bunch of other people that he is keeping track of at the safe house, which is as temple to the dead god of the city whose name I don't remember. We discovered that the leader of the organization that we may or may not join has been taken prisoner. Kadin and Aya went home and other party members had deep discussions about how to deal with the loot, of which Alcibades apparently stole rather a lot, but Dakaar beat him up for it. I'm not entirely clear how that got settled, cuz Kadin didn't really know/care.
The next day, Kadin goes to work and finds out that the leader of the organization is being held prisoner at the town guard but is being transferred to the Hell Knights that afternoon. She takes an early lunch and shares this information with Ichabod. She goes back to work and the others discuss a plan. First, they get Kadin to steal them some guard uniforms. They - Dakaar, Aaron, Ichabod, and Alcibades - disguise themselves as higher-ranking-than-Kadin's-building guardsmen and insist that the prisoner be transferred to them. Their disguises, forgeries, and intimidations convince a guard (and Kadin, who doesn't recognize them) whom Jason has named Bullock that they should hand over the prisoner. As soon as they do so, the Hell Knights come to pick up the prisoner, but he is headed out the back with the "guards." Kadin's boss then emerges and immediately recognizes the forgery for what it is but doesn't tell the Hell Knights (who do NOT recognize the forgery as such) because she hates them and wants them to suffer. After the (irate) Hell Knights leave, she mobilizes the guards to find the escaped prisoner.
Present locations of characters -
Kadin: Having been hit by the obvious stick, is trying to figure out how to not lead the guard to the safe house and how not to get fired
Ichabod, Dakaar, Alcibades, Aaron: Taking the prisoner back to the safe house and/or somewhere else based on the merc monk's evil plans
Aya: On her way to the safe house after having witnessed some of this
David: Likely waiting back at the safe house. The whole gnome thing made him a bit unbelievable as a guard.
Anyone else can feel free to add to this admittedly Kadin-centric version of events.

Aside to Arael: "Well Arael, it seems to me I've at the very least repaid my debt to you for saving my life. These gentlemen may have been a little misled as I tried to give them motivation to rescue you. Perhaps you have some way to repay them. If you do, I'd encourage it, as these men put themselves at great risk. If you don't, it seems right that you and I should at least offer our services to them in some future endeavor as a substitute for payment.
Also, I suggest we may want to avoid the church for a little while. I assume not all members of your organization would be comfortable seeing an enemy of the state, particularly those who work for it. Do you know of anywhere else we can lay low for a while?"

Alcibades |

I agree with most of Kadin's or Lizzy's post save two parts...
"of which Alcibades apparently stole rather a lot, but Dakaar beat him up for it."
If any character asks my character how the division of money was made he will explain it.
However, it went somehting like this... What items did people take and keep and what were there gp value beyond what everyone else got... so people who got an extra healing potion were getting 50 gp more then other party members... characters who kept a light cross bow were getting 35 gp more then other characters...Also i took less gp the rest of the party ... everyone got about 40 gp during the dungeon and afterwards Alcibades took about 20 ... Alcibades 'needed' a chain shirt and spent 80 gp - 20 less from gp he didn't take which is 60 .... of shared money was spent towards this which is about which is about... which is about 10 gp per character .... Characters that he didn't get other perks he views as owing hte money but that he needed the protection and they shouldn't really know the exact dollar figures... characters who kept say a light cross bow that would have sold for about 20 gp are fine.... he doesn't believe they owe him or the party because they are better equipped which helps everyone .... additionally he plans on buying assessts which will add the party as a whole with the remainder of his money... The main reason some of this wasn't explained was because people didn't see me when i gave them there money ... so i guess that will happen sooner or later.
Ok second issue Dakaar...I beleive asking for money is not evil ... the other part may have been evil ... it sorta depends on the exact nature of the plan ... "...right now, we barely were able to resupply to the amount we were before hellknights tried to chop off our heads. This is not acceptable. We'd probably make more coin turning him in to an interested party. Perhaps even gain some valuable contacts in the process. Maybe we should consider our course of action." ... either way that is on the post board for anyone to read and understand as they will.

Kadin |

In fairness, I actually don't KNOW anything about the plans of the escaping "guards," cuz most of it has been posted in secret. I just know he HAS a plan, and it's prolly not full of roses and sunshine. :-p
I also didn't know all the details of the gold exchange. I TOLD you I wasn't paying attention.

Dakaar |

To be fair, it was only Kadin and Dakaar who got swallowed by the gelatinous cube. The rest of us had the good sense to stay the hell away. :-)
Dakaar, paladinlike and virtuous, saw it most effective to sacrifice himself in an attempt to finish off the beast before it hurt any more of his friends.
Thats my story and im stickin with :P

XperimentalDM |

David may either be at the safehouse, or loitering outside the main guard station in case things went bad. Which so far they have now.
There is nothing yet, I'm just keeping Kadin and Aya guessing.
You make your suggestions as the Dottari mobilize. Within a few minutes you are back at your desk while many others have mobilized to form some kind of dragnet. Peacefully alone at your desk, you notice a bag has been left by your station.
Shortly after the Hellknights take off in their wagon, you slowly move over to the alleyway you saw those 4 guards take the prisoner down. You take a look around, but they seem to be gone. You can't spot any kind of trail. You are about to turn around when you hear a very loud sound coming towards the area. It sounds almost like the wagon that just left.

You head down the opposite direction from the guardhouse, you get to the other end of the ally where the main road is and hop back as the Hellknight wagon goes barreling past. You just barely get a glimpse of Kadin seated uncomfortably next to the driver and the Hellknight commander.
Dakaar works at the manacles for a bit and they pop off.
Arael thanks you all, and listens to Ichabod's words. "While I doubt the others care about my status with the government, you have a point in not drawing attention to the Shrine. However, I have no other place nearby we can safely hide. It will become difficult for us to move through the city soon, if the guard and the hellkights react as I expect."
you de-diguise? Alcibades, yes the guard does sometimes pay for info and usually honors their agreements as long as they don't think the source is significantly complicit.

Kadin |

"I really have no idea, sir. I didn't see which direction they went in."
<pause>
"Well, since it's largely matching what I have, it could be a sign to continue on my current path. That would make sense, right?"

Well we need to get somewhere safe. If we take the sewers do you know the way back to the church?

Dakaar volunteers to perform reconnaissance for the group. If the buildings are close enough together, He will monitor from the rooftops to ensure no one follows the group escorting Arael.
Otherwise, Dakaar will follow a bit behind, scanning the crowd and sticking to alleys where applicable. Its agreed beforehand, that if someone is following them, I will throw a shuriken at their feet or to a nearby wall to let them know the jig is up and they should start running flat out.

You are in a southern district called the Rego Scripto, Further south is the Rego Sacro (it is about a mile to the safe house from your current location). The Ruined sector is more than 4 miles north. The nearest city gate is about 3 miles NNW. There is a slightly burnt tavern about a mile and a half north east. It is about 3/4 of a mile to either shoreline. You might be able to find a abandoned shop within half a mile.

a.) Actually, I usually DON'T read people's spoilers. I just flip to see how long they are sometimes, and I saw my name.
b.) I don't actually care if people read my spoilers, though I don't see why they have to be hostile to me if they do.
