Lugert: Yes you got 1 hero point at level 1, and one per level.
So you have a few crumb trails you can follow. There are the Licktoad goblins, of course. There's the swamp witch, "Megus." And there's that pesky creature stalking you through the swamp. Walthus has offered his home as a base, which leaves you free to follow any or all of these hooks. What will it be first?
Lugert, Half-orc Ranger
They all sound awful, haha. If we trek to the other trail we can at least check on the horses. We may even pay Walthus to check on them every once in a while. The goblins are the mission.

I vote for goblins. Hard to spot roaming monsters are not my favourite target. Also Kandor likes the attack bonus he gets against goblins.
GM Wicked
@GM Wicked, what time are we leaving the hut? around noon/1pm or so?
Sounds about right.
GM Wicked
Excellent! Hope you like the new position!
Lugert, Half-orc Ranger
It's very similar to a past job. My former coworker is there and has told me all about it. Great pay, they don't track PTO, full benefits, company trips. I'm beyond happy.
Lugert, Half-orc Ranger
Sorry guys, been preparing for my last two weeks. Please act as if Lugert got back and told you everything he saw.

The plot is getting thicker.
If I get everything right:
1) Undead attacked the goblins but were bribed to go away. (Weird, since when do undead operate this way?)
2) Goblins found fireworks in some shipwreck
3) Goblin heroes (aparently the ones attacking and raiding) used those to attack the trade caravan to gather some loot for the next time the undead come by.
Am I an omnicidal maniac if I suggest first killing the undead and their leader, and the goblins afterwards?
GM Wicked
The plot is getting thicker.
It's a veritable oatmeal! *Squeal!*
That's a good summary of facts. Note that the undead came to the village after the goblin heroes came back with shinies, and the undead left after the king gave them the very same shinies the goblin heroes found.

With that order I firmly support killing the goblins and the skeletons.
I believe some of us have some flammable stuff for that occasion. :)
Gôlgast
I think Kandor is our Undead fighting specialist! :o
I really need to start sinking skill points into Intimidate.
That's a skill that comes in handy with delicate negotiations with goblins! :D
We might be able to incite the other goblins to turn on their chief for us.
Loyalty and bravery aren't exactly what goblins are good at.
GM Wicked
I did roll initiative for Plergk, but he failed his perception check to act in the surprise round. As to how he'll react during combat, that remains to be seen... :)
GM Wicked
I am taking a big exam next Friday. I'll try to post here and there, but please excuse my diminished presence over the next 8 days.
GM Wicked
Thanks! Lugert looks like you left out your BAB+Str on the attack roll. That's a +6 ill add on when I reconcile the actions.
Lugert, Half-orc Ranger
Oh wow, how'd I miss that? Good luck on those exams. I start my new job Tuesday so I don't know how that will effect my posting. For the next month it may only be in the mornings and evenings.

Mine were English Theoretical Phonetic, English Oral and Written Speech Practice, German, English Practical Grammar, English Translation and Interpreting Practice, German Culture, PE.
But only four of these were graded, others were just passed/not passed.
Also, Wicked, quick question - SR is like AC for spells, so I can try one more time, am I right?
GM Wicked
Yep you can try all you want. Each spell requires a separate caster level check (1d20+2), but if you fail you lose the spell. So you're wise to use your cantrip.
GM Wicked
I believe middle English merged with Norman French to give us modern English, ya? It's the worst of both worlds!
Lugert, Half-orc Ranger
I kick myself for not taking learning another language seriously when I was in school. Growing up in a midwest town makes you believe you'll never leave and need to speak anything but English. I'm incredibly happy I left home to become an adventurer of sorts, but I wish I had another language to get me a bit further.
GM Wicked
Duolingo is a fun (and addictive) start. It's free. They even have a mobile app.
Lugert, Half-orc Ranger
I was using that a few years ago to learn Italian. It was fun, but when I decided to bike across the US I had no time for much else. I should download it to prep for my trip to Spain next spring.

As a Dutchman I have had to learn a bit of German and French and a lot of English in highschool.
I can understand the first two a bit, but prefer to keep it in English.
And don't start me about Dutch. We have two particles, 'de' and 'het' and the moment you ask a Dutch person which is the correct one to use he will start doubting it.

That was a pretty close call Gôlgast. Crits are nasty for low level characters.
Does anyone of us have a CLW potion or some other healing item with them in case I go down?
GM Wicked
Friendly reminder: as we collect wealth and gear, keep a running tally of total wealth received. E.g. Samiya claimed the cloak of resistance +1, and that's worth 1,000gp, so she should keep track of that either in her profile or in her loot tab (maybe you already have, I just didn't notice it).
GM Wicked
Busy days ahead, sorry. I probably won't post again until the weekend. Then I'll try to propel us forward.
