Hazel Stokes
As the rest of her companions arrive Hazel moves towards the spider, drawing her starknife as she goes. She quickly calls upon Desna yet again to further bolster her against the threat as she tries to deliver a vicious slash against some of its many legs.
Attack vs. Spider (Starknife; Bless, Divine Favor, Power Attack): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
_______
Swift action to use a point of fervor to cast Divine Favor, move forward, then attack!
GM-JZ
As Hazel darts in, the enormous spider turns and snaps at her in a surprising display of speed.
Attack of opportunity, Hazel: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 Hit
Damage: 3d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 5, 3) + 18 = 30
Hazel fort save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Success
It's teeth are the size of daggers and they plunge into Hazel's shoulder as she moves in. Crying out in pain she at least is able to pull away before it can pump thick, green venom into her veins.
Vermundr
Vermundr works a quick glamer that causes his unarmored form to fuzz and blur. He gives Zelda a nod before grabbing a nearby chair. "Back off Hazel. That thing will tear you apart."
Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Kazamir Rhuul
KNow/nat: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 9 + (2) = 20
Kazamir looks quickly around the room, looking for how the thing manged to enter,
perception: 1d20 + 1d6 + 14 ⇒ (20) + (4) + 14 = 38,
Then sends a volley of magic missiles at the hulking shape, watching carefully as the half-seen arcane distortions impact the spider.
3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) + 3 = 12
Kaz is wondering if this thing is summoned, or perhaps an illusion...
Perception on the interaction of missiles..: 1d20 + 14 + 1d6 ⇒ (12) + 14 + (3) = 29
GM-JZ
The missiles slam home, punching neat holes into the thing's carapace, holes that immediately begin to fill with thick, gunky blood. It shrieks in pain, a weirdly human sound, and rounds on the group closing in.
Kazamir, you see a series of bloody splashes and sloshes through the great hall and to the entrance to the Lodge. They don't look like they have come from wounds, more that they might have been poured from buckets.
This is a giant tarantula. The most important things to note are a wicked bite, powerful poison and hairs that can become dislodged and make a person nauseous. A tarantula can throw barbed hairs from its back at a creature as a ranged touch attack (range increment 20 feet). A creature struck by these hairs must make a Fort save or be nauseated for 1d6 rounds. A creature that attacks a giant tarantula with a non-reach melee weapon must make a Reflex save to avoid being struck by these hairs.
Constantin Ionescu
Constantin comes partway down the stairs, just enough to get the spider in his line of sight, and concentrates to cause it to suddenly heat up as etheric forces glide against it.
Using spontaneous immolation again as I presume it's a mindless vermin and thus immune to most telepathic abilities.
Fire damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1) = 11
DC 15 Fort save for half damage. If it fails the save it also catches fire and must save again every round (Ref 15 this time) or take another 1d6 fire damage.
GM-JZ
Fort: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 Success
Zed attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 Miss
The spider thrashes as a sudden blast of fire engulfs it. It crashes around the room in a panic and manages to put itself out in doing so.
Zed swings but connects with only a thick carapace and doesn't break it's defences.
GM-JZ
Round 3 - Enemy
Spider, Zed: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26 Hit
Damage: 3d6 + 18 ⇒ (6, 3, 2) + 18 = 29
Zed fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 Success
The spider turns it's multitude of eyes ont oZed and lances it's thick teeth through his shoulder and to the bone. It pumps venom into him but he shakes it off, ready to keep fighting.
Round 4 - Heroes
Valavastra Cross
Vala gestures again, calling this time upon knowledge imparted to her through Pyth, and a storm of shimmering motes cascades down around the giant spider, threatening to blind its many eyes!
Will save DC 17 or b-b-b-BLINDED! Spiders get a penalty to the save because of all their eyeballs, right? =P
Should be easy enough to position the 10-ft radius burst/cloud to avoid allies.

"Rrrgh...!" Hazel growls, frustrated at her inability to strike the spider and at the ease with which it seems to be swatting them around. But she knows that she can't take another blow like that one she just took and so makes a parting swipe at the creature with her starknife before falling back a pace.
Attack vs. Spider (Starknife; Bless, Divine Favor, Power Attack): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Kazamir Rhuul
In a few short, terse phrases, Kazamir warns his collegues about the thing's hairs. The biting and venom, he figures, are rather obvious...
He then quiets for a moment, manifesting a spectral hand.

Zed Ulmin
Sweet Jesus back into the fray! Damn that thing can 2 shot me.
Zed grimaces as the spider rips into his shoulder, and goes for healing magic before he sees the spider is blinded. He stays on the offensive, bringing down his dense newspaper to smack the spider!

Round 5 - Heroes
There is commotion everywhere in the Lodge. The sounds of screams, calls for help and someone shouting; Get Delgros, GET DELGROS!!
Zed Ulmin
Included the extra haste attack in my previous post.
Zed goes down, eyes wide. Damn, what are the odds. Zed gives a chuckle at his last thought as he slips away from the waking world.
That'll down me.
GM-JZ
105 Damage and counting. But it looks severely injured now. Imagine the Great Hall positively covered in spider hair and goop and blood
I also forgot the hairs and the non-reach thing.

Vermundr
I can't do anything about the botched fort save vs the hairs but Vermundr has mirror image up with 3 images. Should I roll an image check against the attack that hit earlier?
Zed Ulmin
Oh my that's probably true. Blinding yourself is a viable strategy versus mirror image.
GM-JZ
Sorry guys, what a crazy day yesterday turned out to be!
Following devastating attacks by Zed, Vermundr and Hazel, the spider recoils back into the room, a great shudder runs through it and after a screeching, insectoid-like cry of pain, it slumps to the ground, legs convulsing and curling up beneath it.
The Markiza lies motionless in a heap, a spilled chair lying over her while Belik, previously unseen, has pushed himself into a tiny, panting ball in one corner of the room.
Zed Ulmin
IMW: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 7) + 7 = 221d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
With some bad touch healing, Zed is back on his feet.
Vermundr
Once the dizzying nausea from the spider's bristles has passed, Vermundr gathers his wits and tries to assess the situation.
"Did that thing get the woman? Where in the Nine Hells did it come from?"
Zelda sweeps the room for signs of errant magic, while her master checks on the survivors.
Hazel Stokes
Hazel slowly lowers her starknife, staring at the spider silently. Then, she looks up at Belik and then around to see where the spider had broken in - because surely it had broken into the building - from.
"What happened?" she asks slowly, moving with Vermundr to check on the Markiza.
Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
GM-JZ
Remarkably, the Markiza looks unharmed - it appears that she just fainted from fright and that you came in the nick of time. Belik meanwhile, is a barely comprehendible, gibbering wreck.
His small hands shake uncontrollably as he uses them to cover his face, unable to look at the massive spider lying in a bleeding heap.
My lady! Ostovach cries, charging in from the main entrance and racing to her side. Is she alright? he asks anxiously, previous animosity seemingly forgotten.
Cilas looks on grimly from the corner of the room. Sweat breaks out on his forehead and he is visibly shaken, perhaps the thought of his friend being killed by a spider-creature is also on his mind.
A minute or so later, others begin to arrive such as Estovian, Quiene and even the chef.
Wha..? Oh my god! Quiene says, horrified.
Zed Ulmin
I'm a decent tracker.
Seeing that the others have the crowd under control, Zed begins following the blood trail, keeping an eye out for any siblings the spider might have had.
Zed Ulmin
Zed takes a look outside, then waits for the others to finish up. "We should follow this as a group, there might be more danger on the other end of it."
Vermundr
I assume Zelda didn't pick up anything unexpected with detect magic?
