Male Chelaxian-Human Ranger 4 | HP 44 | AC 18 FF 15 T13 | Saves +6/+8/+3 | Init + 4 | Percep +10

Moving with the group Aemon puts his sword away and pulls out his bow, looking around trying to pick up anything that can help.

perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Then turning to Corellon.

"I don't know i don't want to touch anything without being told, what if we make it worse!"

He then turns to kyle looking for any answers.

He then see's Devil going for the mirror.

"Wait Devil we don't know what that will do they might be trapped"

Male Human Fighter 5 HP 45/49 | AC 22 (t13 f20) | F+6 R+5 W+5(+6vs Fear) | Perc +10 | Longsword +11, 1d8+6; Greatsword +12, 2d6+8

When Corellon and Devil speak, Beppo raises his greatsword and rushes to one of the mirrors. As he is about to strike, he hears Tessai and freezes.

He looks back at the Inquisitor quizzically (Bonus hero point for 2 Q's in a row, right?), the great mass of steel hanging in the air...

Grand Lodge

Tessai KN:
The mirrors are serving as portals to the plane of Shadows. Shattering them will cut them off.

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

Brandon too stands with weapon poised, ready to bring down the morningstar with all his might.

Do we break them? Say NOW!

"Yes!!! Break them all!!!" - the Tiefling shouts.

Tiefling M Monk 1(Sohei/MoMS)

Frustated with the failure of his magicked polearm, drained of wisdom and strength, bruised, cursed, and cursed again, Devil spins a circle, lashing out with focus, against the shadowed mirror.

unarmed -1 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
[ooc]d8-1 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

not pulling a Brenton, but that is Devil's intent

Grand Lodge

The mirrors don't put up much of a fight. Within seconds, a pile of glass lies at your feet. For the first time since you entered this area, the sense of dread leaves (Except those who are cursed).

LoL BD :D

Tessai stands silent, the hair in the back of her neck still standing as she watches the area all around them, longspear pointed at ghosts and shades...

Male Human Fighter 5 HP 45/49 | AC 22 (t13 f20) | F+6 R+5 W+5(+6vs Fear) | Perc +10 | Longsword +11, 1d8+6; Greatsword +12, 2d6+8

Beppo yells at the mirror as he smashes it with all of his remaining might.

Once the deed is done, he stands amidst the remnants of the mirrors, frozen in place, sword in hands, eyes wide, panting, as though awaiting more unexpected terrors to arise from the shards of glass at his feet.

Half-Elven Rogue Lvl 2 HP 15/15 INIT+6 AC 16 CMB+3 CMD+17 Rapier/S. Sword (+6/+3 Dual +5,+1) 1d6+2/18-20x2, 1d6+2/19-20x2 Short Bow (+5) 1d6+2/x3 (F:0 R:6 W:0)

"No good deed shal go unpunished ... I wonder what awaits us next?"

Corellon examines the shards of glas and where they were positioned for anything of interest and then the secret door itself.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Grand Lodge

There appears to be nothing else of interest in this small room that produced the shadows.

The party earns 1 hero point each for destroying the mirrors. Refer to the map in dropbox to determine where you want to to go next.

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

The mirrors shattered and the threat dispelled, for now at least. Brandon has time to take stock.

This place is madness! Chaos harnessed in one evil place. The sooner we are done here the better.

Silver Crusade

Male Human Priest Lvl 5; 32 HP; AC:17 [14F/15T]; P+6; [+5F+5R+8W]; [S1:3-S2:4-S3:1-1C-4L]

Kyle follows where the party wants to go.

"We've done this city a great service today and no one will probably know about it except us."

Male Chelaxian-Human Ranger 4 | HP 44 | AC 18 FF 15 T13 | Saves +6/+8/+3 | Init + 4 | Percep +10

Finally feeling the release of dread on himself, Aemon takes a breath hoping to catch a little rest before they have to move again.

"You're right Brandon it's evil, we really need to get done with this place."

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

Come, we have to press on. No matter what.

If Corellon is satisfied the secret door is not trapped, Brandon tries to open it and see what is kept behind a hidden door in a place full of secrets.

Grand Lodge

Ummm...The secret door had the mirrors behind them, which are now smashed.

Quote:

Tessai: "Move OUT! Open this door!"- Tessai attempts to open the secret door.

GM: Two mirrors of weird black metal hang on the opposite walls of this
trapezoidal room. Strange shadowy figures writhe in the mirrors,
and they do not seem to reflect light as much as absorb it.

Look at the map in the drop box to see where you want to go next. In short, there are only two stair cases going up.

Half-Elven Rogue Lvl 2 HP 15/15 INIT+6 AC 16 CMB+3 CMD+17 Rapier/S. Sword (+6/+3 Dual +5,+1) 1d6+2/18-20x2, 1d6+2/19-20x2 Short Bow (+5) 1d6+2/x3 (F:0 R:6 W:0)

"Why not the one on the right?"

Grand Lodge

You walk up the stairs on the right.

A rickety-looking wooden set of curved stairs, supported by creaking ropes above and a lattice of wooden boards below, passes like a bridge through the center of a circular shaft. No floor is visible below, and no ceiling above. An opening in the far wall beckons about 30 feet below the point where the stairs curve.

Updated the map image.

Male Human Fighter 5 HP 45/49 | AC 22 (t13 f20) | F+6 R+5 W+5(+6vs Fear) | Perc +10 | Longsword +11, 1d8+6; Greatsword +12, 2d6+8

Beppo eyes the stairs, hoping to discern whether they will be safe for the group to use.

Male Chelaxian-Human Ranger 4 | HP 44 | AC 18 FF 15 T13 | Saves +6/+8/+3 | Init + 4 | Percep +10

Aemon takes a look around in their new surroundings hoping to discern anything of help.

perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Grand Lodge

This may be a little confusing in a mind's eye, so to speak...but the stairs you are on now just keep going up. The stairs hover over a pit that you suspect works just like the pit you experienced earlier (Where Devil fell somewhat slower than normal, and come out of the air above). About 15' away or so to the west, you see a wall that goes on in perpetuity. However, about 30' lower in altitude along that wall you see an opening.

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

ahhh sorry JC. I couldn't see any map revealed beyond the 's' of the secret door and I wasn't clear from the description if Tessai was about to open the secret door and noticed the mirrors for the first time in the stair room. My bad.

Brandon takes a small sling bullet from his pouch and asks Kyle to cast light on it. He then takes the small glowing ball and drops it down the seemingly endless shaft, observing its fall.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure I want to know whats at the bottom of this thing.

Grand Lodge

You do so, Brandon. It disappears into the abyss below in about 5-7 seconds. Moments later, the stone appears from above you and you catch it in your hand. It seems to move slower than you expect, though it's not a 'soft' landing either.

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

Brandon's head reels at the impossible nature of the place.

This means we should be able to jump to that opening from the passageway for example?

Male Human Fighter 5 HP 45/49 | AC 22 (t13 f20) | F+6 R+5 W+5(+6vs Fear) | Perc +10 | Longsword +11, 1d8+6; Greatsword +12, 2d6+8

Oh no...Not again..

So we take the staircase up, but because this place loops around like the other shaft, the stairs end at a place that is below where we currently stand - is that correct?

Grand Lodge

That would be logical assumption, given the logic inherent with this twisted demiplane.

Tessai, given these observations, you believe it to be doable, though not without some risk. If one misses the jump, they would probably share a similar fate that Black Devil did earlier.

Looking around at the group Tessai smiles - "Ok boys, who is a good jumper? Mabe there is somewhere to tie a rope over there, and the others can slide easier"

Grand Lodge

You note that the stairs and rope on this side are not the most sturdy. While a strong person holding it up here can make a decent anchor, He'll have not great way of tying anywhere when he/she finally has to jump down.

Tiefling M Monk 1(Sohei/MoMS)

Could a flying creature with a gripping talon carry and fasten a rope? And did we bring the eagle cloak at all?

still battling a machine recovery, here. hope to be back soon

Grand Lodge

It seems feasible, though you're a bit unsure how flying may work in that environment until you try. I'll presume the cloak is in the group...but until I get an emailing detailing who kept and equipped what, I'm presuming that it's in 'party loot' when not immediately in use outside of combat. In combat, the item is not available until I'm told officially who has it, and whether or not they have it equipped.

Half-Elven Rogue Lvl 2 HP 15/15 INIT+6 AC 16 CMB+3 CMD+17 Rapier/S. Sword (+6/+3 Dual +5,+1) 1d6+2/18-20x2, 1d6+2/19-20x2 Short Bow (+5) 1d6+2/x3 (F:0 R:6 W:0)

"I'll volunteer to make the jump if you like, that is if Devil decides not to swoop in."

Male Chelaxian-Human Ranger 4 | HP 44 | AC 18 FF 15 T13 | Saves +6/+8/+3 | Init + 4 | Percep +10

"I'm not sure i could jump that,i'll leave it in more capable hands." Aemon then moves back trying to stay out of peoples way.

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

With Edmonds strength combined with my own and if Beppo or Tessai assist me we should form a pretty secure anchor point.

Male Human Fighter 5 HP 45/49 | AC 22 (t13 f20) | F+6 R+5 W+5(+6vs Fear) | Perc +10 | Longsword +11, 1d8+6; Greatsword +12, 2d6+8

I'm happy to help anchor, though I'm not sure how much it will help when down becomes up and then goes down again. The stairs on this side are not the most sturdy. But presumably would take us to that door.

After a pause, he shrugs.

"Well, we need to press on with this so Corellon or Devil, step up boys" - Tessai states with a smile.

"OK, here goes, tie the rope to my waist, leave lots of slack, and I'll make a run for the opening. You guys anchor and reel me in if I end up on some interdimensional ride."

And with that, Corellon ties himself off with his 50' of silk rope, handing the other end to Beppo and the group to secure it. He paces about 7 or 8 feet back from the edge and makes a sprint towards the gap and the opening on the other side.

"And they're off and running ..."

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Grand Lodge

As Corellon jumps, he quickly finds the weaker gravity here to his benefit, as it allows him to get much more horizontal range from his jump before falling too far. He hands on the other side, on his feet.

As long as someone is holding the rope on this end, climbing down via rope and the lighter gravity of the pit is a DC: 0...and automatic for just about any character taking 10 even with negatives. However, the last character will need to acrobatics across. As you saw earlier, it would seem that typing a rope around one's waist is no safety from falling into this looping pit.

(RETIRED) Human Alchemist 6 | HP 57 | AC 18 FF 16 T13 | Saves +7/+7/+6 (+4 disease, +2 poison) | Init + 2 | Percep +10

Brandon decides not to drink his mutagen. Edmond could be inclined to help or just let the rope go to see what happened.

He ties the rope around his waist and between him and Beppo braces against the strain. Of which there is little. The low gravity allows Correllon to sail gracefully to the other side.

Well now that's done. Who's next?

Grand Lodge

Currently in lower Hallway:
Corellon

Looks like the rest of you make it down, then.

You walk down a little ways and turn south.

These halls are lined with doors—entrances into various jail cells. Each stout wooden door contains a narrow barred window set at eye level, and is also barred from the outside, with the exception of one, which is unbarred. These halls wrap around the back sides of the cells, where smoky glass windows are set at eye level.
