Edmond Harrow |
Tessai can understand Infernal. Can you Kyle? Edmond will leer by one of the doorways, standing still as a statue head cocked to one side at a weird angle.
Perception for approaching enemeies: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Kyle Gray |
Kyle takes his time to inspect the room and urns for traps. Afterward, Kyle prays to Shelyn to assist in recalling a spell to help assist him in reading infernal.
He uses a hero point to cast 'comprehend languages.'
He starts reading the urns starting with those dated 4676ar and going forward. He attempts to read without touching the urns, if possible. He points to the ones of interest naming them as he goes.
Ailyn_JCS |
A tear can be seen in the corner of the Pathfinder's eye, as she slowly removes the lid to the urn. Thank you. I really cannot express my thanks. I'll inform Arael and we'll set up to communicate with her spirit. In the mean time, you should discuss what questions you will want to ask.
Brandon Harcroft |
I agree with you, Aemon. Far too easy. says Brandon as he reemerges from his alchemical form.
Perhaps their reputation was enough to make people fear them and in truth they no longer had the numbers to be a true threat. On the other hand, this could be part of some elaborate plot to trick us and somehow when we commune with the spirit it will signal to the monks, shadow beasts and Hellknights exactly where we are.
He shrugs.
Stranger things have happened. Once, I was experimenting what would happen if I combined my mutagen with the spinal fluid of froghemoth, not a cheap ingredient by the way, and what do you know? BOOM! The first sip was enough to.....
The alchemist talks excitedly like this until they reach the entrance to the hideout.
Aemon Brooks |
Aemon listens to Brandon but then slowly as the Alchemist carries on get bored as he see's his ramblings are going nowhere. "Yah all that could happen..." He then looks to Yuko. "This could be trouble we best go seek her out before she pokes around to much and stirs up a hornets nest, do we have any idea where she lives?" He says as he looks around to Kyle.
Kyle Gray |
In regards to Calseinica, Kyle says, "She must have done something bad and feel a need to confess her sins. I'll be sure to visit her later and see what she wants. No time for relaxation just yet, Yuko. I have a very busy schedule."
Kyle looks to Janiven. "Did you find something to keep the newer member's busy?"
"So what do we know about this pathfinder? What are we going to ask her? I believe we're suppose to ask her about getting inside Delvehaven for one."
Beppo van Drotske |
I agree with you, Aemon. Far too easy.
Beppo nods in agreement.
Perhaps their reputation was enough to make people fear them and in truth they no longer had the numbers to be a true threat.
Indeed. Perhaps their reputation outlasted their abilities, - hm..a bit the opposite of us, whose reputation does not yet match our skill - or we just caught them unawares when we were ready for them
On the other hand, this could be part of some elaborate plot to trick us and somehow when we commune with the spirit it will signal to the monks, shadow beasts and Hellknights exactly where we are.
Beppo holds up a hand. Now that's a little paranoid... Is it?
Once, I was experimenting what would happen if I combined my mutagen with the spinal fluid of froghemoth...
Oh, gods. Why would you...nevermind. I clearly do not understand alchemy.
GM-JCS: Dude, Brandon needs a hero point just for working the word "froghemoth" into a conversation when there is not a froghemoth menacing us. IMHO.
Beppo van Drotske |
more RP catch-up here:
In response to Kyle's statements, Beppo responds, I think we were going to ask her some questions about what happened after Delvehaven was sealed, where that off-site cache is, and ... maybe how to get in?
After a moment of trying to recall more, he turns to Yako. Hey, I think I pulled something down there. You think you could...um...check it out for me?
GM-JCServant |
Yuko answers Kyle, I couldn't tell ya. But you better look into it.. we don't want that kind of attention, I think.
----
Yuko answers Beppo, Absolutely, darlin'. Just come into my office an hour after dinner.
-----------
Janiven answers Kyle, That's exactly what we want to know. It is important that you all know exactly what you want to ask before Arael begins the ceremony. You'll have time to ask 4 to 7 questions, depending on how fast the candle burns.
Kyle Gray |
"Questions to ask so far about the lost cache of artifacts and getting into Delvehaven. Are there any others? We can save any remaining questions that may come up after hearing the answers. One question may be of what we'll need to do to prepare to open Delvehaven."
Beppo van Drotske |
Beppo nods at Kyle's response. I think those are the best questions to start with, Kyle. We can ask about what else happened, what kind of traps, et cetera, after we find out those two key pieces and maybe ask some follow-up.
GM-JCServant |
Arael begins the ceremony. As he lights the candle, a form coalesces in front of you, made of the smokey vapors from the candle. The female form's long hair floats gently in the air.
I hear my name, calling to me from the land of those who have yet to meet Pharasma. What do you seek from me?
New pic in DropBox.
Brandon Harcroft |
Here We go again.... Brandon whispers, clearly disturbed by this whole process.
We seek information, my lady, with the hope that you can provide it. We are seeking a means into Delvehaven and understand you might know the location of a hidden cache of weapons and items that might help us in this endeavour.
Beppo van Drotske |
Beppo leans toward Kyle and whispers to him, Ask what's in Delvehaven now - or what's in the cache? Dangers? ... What happened? He shrugs, and the look on his face makes it plain to see that talking to the dead makes him uncomfortable - hence his penchant for leaving the talking to others.
Kyle Gray |
"Cutlass Cove! Might need more specifics."
Knowledge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Kyle waits to share with the others what he knows, if anything.
Might need to know what he knows before he can ask a follow up question on that.
Kyle nods at Beppo and turns to the spirit.
"What was locked inside of Delvehaven?"
GM-JCServant |
The books in our library contain knowledge gathered by the Chelish Pathfinders. Our artifacts were locked in the basement.
The candle is half spent.
Beppo van Drotske |
Int check (unless dependent on the Kn(L) check): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Kyle, ask for more details about where the cache is hidden - I don't know if Cutlass Cove is an entire area, a tavern, or what, so we should get more specifics.
Aemon Brooks |
Aemon hesitates then lets out what he knows. "I know of it, it's located east of Westcrown a quarter mile from Delvehaven it contains a few small building was primarily used for smuggling and pirates but not anymore."
Kyle Gray |
Knowledge Poem: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
'I've never heard that poem, but according to the notes it was authored by the Loremaster. Another pathfinder we need to find.'
"Where can we find Loremaster Liriam?"
Also, if there is more time. Kyle wants to ask. "Why did you stay in Westcrown when you were urged to leave?"
"What dangers surround Delvehaven or the hidden cache that you are aware of?"
GM-JCServant |
I last saw Loremaster Liriam when I assisted him in creating an extra-dimensional space that could be accessed through a glowing door that floats on a wave in the middle of the bay at night. Liriam returned
to Delvehaven for Bisby.
I felt that we would be cowards if we just ran. We had done so much here. I thought that maybe if we let things die down, I could return to Delvehaven and retrieve our records and artifacts. I never got that chance.
In the The Foyer of Fellowship, there's a hall transposition trap. Stay together or you will become incredibly disoriented. There is a trap in the cel...
The nub of candle flickers out.
Kyle Gray |
"Cutlass Cove is located at the tip of the small peninsula east of Westcrown about a quarter mile from Delvehaven and Rego Sacero's eastern shoreline. A few small buildings dot the coast, but for the most part, it is uninhabited. In the past, it was used for pirate and smuggling activity, but the rise of the Chelish navy has caused that activity to drop dramatically.. We'll need that poem to find that cache though."
GM-JCServant |
Ailyn stands up. One of the more mysterious things in that journal is a poem by that name. On the surface it just appeared as a poorly written multi-page poem about a man’s ill-fated affair with a mermaid. But, if this ballad is in fact a clever cipher, well need to crack it.
Beppo van Drotske |
Beppo eyes the puzzle carefully, his brows deeply furrowed.
perform (oratory) (untrained): 1d20 ⇒ 20
POW!
He turns the journal around a couple of times. Hold on a moment - lays don't have this many syllables... He grabs the nearest writing implement and starts scribbling, a brief scratch every so often as he reads through it again.
There's an extra syllable every twelfth line! As he jots down the extra syllables, Beppo's eyes grow and he becomes increasingly excited. It's another poem! ... it's title is... scratchscratchscratch "the Wave Door" - maybe it has something to do with that extra-dimensh-whatever out in the bay!
He sits up abruptly, cocks his head to the side, and frowns in disappointment. I'm not sure what the hells it means, though...
Aemon Brooks |
"Wow brilliant work beppo, i had no idea where to start.." Aemon then looks over the poem randomly pulling a face as he trying to work anything out from it.
"Um maybe someone else wants to try? Brandon? this could be something for you."
