Tofutee - I'm surprised at you for not reading my post closely enough. You have surprise, so you cannot charge (during the surprise round) but you can wait, and do it when regular rounds begin

Oh no I read your post. I'm just using part of the charge rules commonly used by Zombies. I'm assuming that 30ft is enough to get me in range to hit an Alligator.

Charge rules, SRD wrote:

Movement During a Charge

You must move before your attack, not after. You must move at least 10 feet (2 squares) and may move up to double your speed directly toward the designated opponent. If you move a distance equal to your speed or less, you can also draw a weapon during a charge attack if your base attack bonus is at least +1.

You must have a clear path toward the opponent, and nothing can hinder your movement (such as difficult terrain or obstacles). You must move to the closest space from which you can attack the opponent. If this space is occupied or otherwise blocked, you can't charge. If any line from your starting space to the ending space passes through a square that blocks movement, slows movement, or contains a creature (even an ally), you can't charge. Helpless creatures don't stop a charge.

If you don't have line of sight to the opponent at the start of your turn, you can't charge that opponent.

You can't take a 5-foot step in the same round as a charge.

If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.

male

Alright then, well, you can't draw a weapon then, there, I have spoken on the matter, moving on

I would love to draw a weapon, a distinct lack of thumbs on my part will make that hard though. I'm assumingI have a natural attack of some variety. If not would a wombat with a knife held in its teeth be feasible? However regardless if I'm prevented from charging toffee will just try to sneak her way around the alligators for easy flanking once beast comes into the room.

male

A Wombat has a Bash attack, and I think with a charge it would be at a +4 to hit and cause the enemy to be knocked prone, unless a fortitude save DC equal to the to hit roll, if the attack is successful, is made

Next Bud places a slightly damp hand on his shoulder, ready to push him into action, and at his signal Beast springs forwards into the room, ready to take on any challengers.

If I can do a partial charge like above with 20ft move speed, then I will do that, if its too far, not a clear line to charge (such as through the door), or something else, then Ill do the second spoiler.

If I can partial charge, like above:

Beast rushes in and tries to slip past Tofutee and land a blow on the alligator closest to Tofutee.

Surprise Round

Catching the lazy Alligators by surprise, Bud sves beast into the room after Tofutee and then with the snap of an outstretched hand sends a magical blast of acid into the darkness, striking one of the alligators in the hind leg. The acid has a pungent aroma and wafts in a small cloud all around the alligator.

The strange odor seems to make the reptile hungry instead of sick

Tofutee and Beast leap at the unsuspecting creatures

Tofutee manages to catch an alligator as it is turning in place, and flips the thing over onto its back with the force of her charge, while beast leaps completely over Tofutee and lands with a slam on the last Alligator, killing it instantly

Round 1…

my AC is at 15 this round because I charged so that gator got me :)
Also the Gator has grab so he gets a free grapple check on me if he wants. If he does I can roll a counter-grapple check in the next post and if it works then I'll have to re-roll the attack and damage. My CMD is +20.
I could use a new pair of gator boots :)

The Alligators are all dead, and suddenly, looking around, the room appears much smaller than it was at first. It is now only twenty feet by twenty feet.

I was out of it for a while an forgot that this was supposed to be a room, not a chamber

In the corner of the room stand four small crates, about one foot square each. The crates have open tops and seem to be holding several dozen flat objects all of uniform size (about 10” square).

Will someone check for exits?

Tofutee snorts in satisfaction savagely chomping down on one of the alligators and ripping off a chunk of flesh. The wombat chews, once, twice, then spits out the chunk with an aggravated noise.
"Stupid blunt herbivore teeth..."

With that the wombat walks over to the crates and makes a short hop to see inside them. "Hey look, loot!. Oi, fuzzy you think you could toss this in the big bag of loot you've got?"
With that tofutee snuffs once and gives the room itself a more obvious look.
"I don't see any exits in this room, might be a dead end. Might be a hidden exit. Hrmmm... where would I put a hidden door?"

Beast mimics the wombat once more, tearing a chunk of nose off of the Gator in front of him and pops it into his mouth, chewing slowly.
Hey! Dis is actually kinda tasty! the beginning of Beast the cannibal >:)
Beast then sets down to work to skin the Gators as he had seen his hearders do countless times before on any animal that had fallen. To the poor farmers everything was used, and nothing wasted. Hides turned into clothing or coverings, bones into tools and handles, the meat into preserves. While Beast lacked everything needed to completely finish the task, he was able to to at least sepperate and clean the components (aided by the anytool).
Gator boots in progress! Do I need to do any rolls?
With the pool slowly taking on a bloody hue Beast interrupts his task to store the objects that Tofutee hands him, then continues (and takes another morsel to eat!)

Tofutee catches up to her companions and snuffs loudly to gain their attention. "So I didn't catch much in that room. We are going to need to pick a different path, so we could head through the door that turned me into a wombat. I figure if it follows the traditional method that its magic is spent until someone comes with a wind-up Magi-cell. Those imprisoned pixie wizards sure can generate power when you shake them enough."

Assuming I don't find a secret door we will need to pick a different path. Looking into the past rolls the trapped Wombat-door is unlocked and would be a viable selection for use to journey into.

The group soon realizes they have come to a dead end, filled with dead alligators now.

Tofutee raises her now small wombat front end up and looks into the crates, and sees that they are filled with albums*. A quick look at the titles of the albums reveals this to be a vintage collection of vinyl, probably worth a few thousand gold pieces.

When Tofutee suggest collecting the treasure, she looks over at Beast who appears to be sizing up one of the slain alligators, trying to decide where to begin skinning the dead reptile.

On the east wall of this small ten foot by ten foot room are two doors.

On the left (north) is a Strong Wooden Door, and Tofutee creeps close enough to it to see that it is neither locked nor trapped. While on the right (south) is a small stone door that also looks to be not locked or trapped.

Having just learned the dangers of trying to open doors when you aren’t certain about them, Tofutee pauses.

Tofutee does not have to interact with either door unless the party decides to try and open one of them. Will you try to open one of the doors?

Then as Bud and Tofutee scan the room and do their other "smart Things" Beast occupies himself with tracing the writing with his finger and taking out another chunk of alligator meat to munch on.

When Tofutee goes to the wooden door and attempts to poke and prod it, Beast takes out the anytool again and asks Tofutee Do ya wants my help ta get it Unstuck?

Who knows, perhaps Tofutee knows the person who wrote it.

Might also just be something about the building itself, weird magic. Don't need to sleep like a fleshy yet I still get drained walking around this place."
The wombat rants before snuffing once
"Sorry about the tangent there. Paranoia comes as part of the package as a dungeon minion. Its best to relax for a little bit in a place we know is safe before trekking back. I'd say the room with the pool once we open this door and perhaps see whats down the way."

Beast then forms the anytool into a large rod, then starts to poke at the door in random spots. Satisfied that he has done a good job of that important task Beast then puts the tool on the ground, braces his shoulder and gives a mighty heave.
Do I have to roll for the time it takes to get the door down? Will do just in case.

Beast huffs and huffs, and after a while the door still doesnt want to budge, so he picks up the anytool again and fashions it into a doorknob, sticks it onto the side of the door, turns and pulls. It swings open easily towards him.

Satisfied that the wooden door is merely stuck, and not trapped, Bud indicates that it is safe to at least open that door, and beast moves into position,

Once through the door and into the new Passageway, Tofutee moves to the front of the small group and looks southward. Her head being much closer to the floor now, the roguish wombat spots a clever trap in the passageway ahead.

Tofutee:
The floor is dotted with several trigger plates that must set off some deadly trap, probably a hail of arrows or a passageway filled with spinning sharp blades that swing out of walls, floor and ceiling – anyway, disarming each plate will take a long time (3 turns), and has a DC of 25, or you can try to lead the party safely through the passageway trap. It is 30 feet of trap plates, and you must make a Reflex Save, DC 20, to get through.

Follow the leader?:
If Tofutee attempts to lead you through the trapped passageway, roll a Reflex Save, the DC is 20, but you can add a +2 if Tofutee succeeds at her roll, and another +2 if she beats the Save by 5+

"Oh yeah, over there. No bit higher up. Yeah there. Ah, thats nice. Also thanks, those darn keratin deposits are never any god for me despite how nice and crunchy they are. Never mind that these weird teeth likely wouldn't even work to eat that sort of stuff anyway."

Tofutee snuffs as she looks at the floor and calls a halt.

"So this entire hallway looks to be full of traps. I can either try and lead you through them or I can try and disable them." With that tofutee looks at he stumpy wombat hands and then to the rest of the party before sighing.
"You know what I really don't think either of those plans are going to work. I'm going to trigger the trap once so we can see what it does. Then if the trap is something like spinning blades or axes I'll just make out the spots where they are and Fuzzy can come behind me and bust them. Hey oldie, do you see any magic attached to this room?"

with that -8 penalty from not having effective hands Tofutee's chances at disabling this trap are quite low. Even assuming I roll well enough to give everyone that +4 bonus odds are high that one of us fails.

Have you considered going back into town, waiting to see if the wombat suit is permanent, or trying to pay someone to undo the transformation? You don't have to stay in the dungeon you know.

Bud looks thoughtful for a moment, as thoughtful as someone missing pieces of his face can. "I of course can look for magic in the hallway and will do so. I also know a little spell that will allow me to move things around. I might be able to set off the traps from a distance."

Bud then makes a few arcane gestures and examines the hallway with his magically enhanced sight.

I didnt even realize that going to town was an option. What would it take to do that? One thought I had was to go there and stock up on Sovereign Glue and use that to get past the traps :)
Velcro-Raptors? What are Velcro-Raptors?
Beast then follows the other two into the hallway (and beaming a little at the door he managed to Unstuck. Its the little things in life that are importiant. Speaking of which, time for another Gator snack!).
Beast then gets into position behind Tofutee so that he can bash any dangerous looking trap if it comes out at the little wombat, and Smiles at Tofutee (with a piece of gator in his teeth) to let her know that he is ready.
I is ready.

Cast Shield other on Tofutee, then ready an action to sunder. Trigger is "Just after Tofutee or Bud goes, if there is anything that moves."

Then beast stops for a moment, Wait.
He reaches into one of his brandoliers and pulls out a vial of Impact Foam and hands it to Bud. Dis stuff is bouncy, could you use it to gum up the trapping mechanism?
Creativity time here >:D could spreading this stuff around the place work? Might absorb some of the force from the traps. What do you guys think?

The “A” Dungeon, Du’Orbna, level 5
Day 7, approximate time of day 11:10 am (turn 69), (turn 2 of 6)

Bud stares down the passageway, muttering a few words of a simple arcane spell, but nothing unusual presents itself to his magical senses.
Once Tofutee points out the traps mechanisms, it is easy to see the difference in the stones on the floor. Someone would be hard pressed to walk down this corridor and not accidentally activate one of the plates, and who knows what might happen if that were the case.

When Beast mentions a unique material at his disposal, Bud looks at the vial and tries to imagine how the bouncy substance could be put to practical use, but he simply cannot come up with any kind of a plan.
In the end it would seem that the party must take there chances walking through this trapped corridor, or turn back and look for a new area to explore.

Going back to town is easy, you just say that is what you want to do, and I will calculate how long it takes to get back to the entrance following the path you took to get where you are now, and using a formula of 1/6th the amount of time it took to get where you are now (because you are following your map, what? You are keeping your own map, right?

Tofutee snuffs once and looks up at her fellow minions "Right, so if we want to keep going this way I'm going to need a pair of working hands. My working hands in case you felt like some punnery as I am "mostly-armless" in this state. So that altar thing we came across a few rooms back with the anti-grump waves and hair care mineral water. Do you think it might be able to do something about me being an exceptionally delicious wombat? I'm thinking we could give it a shot. Then I can give this room a shot for disabling. If I can't manage then it might be time to head back to town and get something to eat. Hopefully this strange craving for lettuce will go away by then."

male

For what seems like a very long time, the three monsters stare to the south, down the supposedly deadly trapped passageway, and consider their options. Finally, Tofutee shakes all over and stares down at her new “hands” and begins to ask herself if a trip back to the healing altar is worth the money it will cost.

"I've never been a wombat before though." Tofutee speaks, mostly to herself as she comes out of a though and shrugs her little shoulders. "Wombats are pretty terrible trap removers though, I'm heading back to the altar to try and shatter this curse. If one of you could join me to carry the gold that would be lovely. That or just tying a sack of five hundred or so gold to my back."

"After that I think I'm going to see if they sell grilled wombat somewhere in town."

Bud walks up to Tofutee, "I will gladly aid you my friend and then join you in a walk back into town. We should probably check in to see if those trespassers are still in here."

"Yeah, perhaps we can ask around and see if they grabbed a meal or something. I'd always wondered why reclamations sent people into the dungeon rather than waiting at the food stand with a big mallet. Adventurers have to eat as well, its good for their marbling."
With Bud following Tofutee returns to the Altar room and sets about throwing money at the object until she is no longer a wombat.

Bud escorts Tofutee to the altar. "I think you lie down there and I'll put the coins in the slot here. Hopefully it's not a trap and a giant claw doesn't come down and try and scoop you up." He then takes the coins and inserts them for Tofutee.

Tofutee snuffs once and looks at the ceiling. "Yeah thats possible, though typically statues and altars like this have rules in one fashion or another. Typically the bad ones will just curse you without taking your money first. Though that could always be a bluff to make sure something like this works occasionally. Hrmm.. I think I'll stand on this thing, perhaps to one edge of the altar thing-y" The wombat says as a quiver of doubt worms into her voice.
"Guess I just have to hope its a form with hands if I get cursed a second time."

male

Tofutee scrambles up to the low platform of the sacred altar, while Bud runs his finger down the placard on the device’s side, until he finds the relevant instruction for operating the device.

While Tofutee waits patiently, Bud reads the requirements to activate the Altar

After a moment of quiet reflection, Bud let’s out a long low whistle

The Cost?:
This is a particularly expensive altar, and it will cost 1,000 gold pieces, per character level, to reverse the curse on Tofutee – that would be a deposit of 4,000 gold required

Male Undead Arcanist 7 | AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP 79/79 | F +7 R +4 W +5 | Init +2 | Perc +7

"Uh.............. Tofutee? How many gold coins do we have? It says here it's going to cost 4,000 gold to fix....I mean turn you back to the way you were. Do we have that much?"

Tofutee shivers as she stands back up snorting once.
"Oh! Ow, damn. Uh yeah I think we got that much from the last room with gold in it. But OW! Seriously?" The Wombat complains vibrantly as she walks over to the altar control that Bud had been looking at.
"Might be easier to just fix my wombat issue in town if thats the case. I doubt you or Fuzzy would be enthused if I used the entire reward from down here to fix my curse." Tofutee snorts and gives the suspicious look to the altar.
"Is that... A sticker?" The wombat asks one nubby hand scratching at the altars indicator.

male

Tofutee scratches away a hastily applied sticker to reveal the altars real cost of 100 gp
