Sovereign Court

Gregory cuts a neat 5' x 5' hole into the massive blast door, allowing access to the room beyond.

The stripped remains of strange, metallic vehicles that look vaguely like birds with outstretched wings lie strewn across this hangar, amid stacks of parts and barrels of glowing liquids. Brilliant green banners bearing a gear-toothed eye dangle from the ceiling high overhead and flutter in the light breeze that circulates the chamber’s stale, oil-choked air.

Of more immediate concern, however, are the two enormous animate masses, comprised of dozens of armed and armored corpses, which undulate forth, like living siege towers of steel-girded flesh.

As soon as Gregory enters the room, their sinuous bodies turn to face him like giant snakes, and they let loose wordless screams of rage and hate!

Knowledge(Religion) DC 27:
These are Advanced Warsworn, Gargantuan gestalt undead beasts, formed from the fused corpses of dozens of creatures. In addition to attacking with a whirlwind of limbs, they have the ability to deliver negative levels with their touch, and absorb the bodies of the dead into themselves.

Gregory needs to make two DC 28 Will saves, or flee.

Unfortunately, this chamber does not contain anything that is salvageable, but more double blast doors exit to the East, West, and North, whist single blast doors appear to enter the area to the west from the north and south aspect.

In addition, there are a total of four single doors that leave this room, which are *not* blocked by blast doors.

Gregory casts focuses his energy, and removes the negative level (expending a Restore Eidolon to do so). He then focuses on topping-up his shielding...

Two of the four single doors lead to empty rooms.

A third leads to some sort of security-bunker, which still contains a munitions locker, which holds an Arc Rifle, Bang Grenade x6, Zero Grenade x3, and Fire Extinguisher x2.

The fourth is some sort of control room, with banks of monitors, microphones, and a ridiculous number of control panels festooning the walls.

Of more immediate interest, however, is the chain-glass window that occupies the northern wall, looking into the circular chamber that all four of the western blast doors lead into.

Hanging banners, mathematically precise runes, and glowing orbs have transformed this circular domed chamber into something like a cathedral. A strange winged vehicle sits in the northern half of the chamber.

Standing in front of this vehicle is a large, four-armed robot (wielding a massive laser rifle, and an integrated battle axe), sitting on a four-legged chassis.

Where its face should be is a single enormous, glowing red eye.

To either side of it stand two Annihilator robots, and arranged around them all like a robotic halo are a half-dozen human-sized, angelic-looking robots, floating in mid-air.

Knowledge(Engineering) DC 32:
These are Advanced Evaluator Robots, constructs originally created to act as diplomats and assess the warlike tendencies of new civilisations. They have the ability to obliterate short-term memories with their touch, but also wield integrated bastard swords with brutal efficiency.

"The large robot in the middle is the Overlord - be careful; it is an extremely lethal construct, even if Unity was not controlling it!"

As soon as Gregory enters the room, all of the robots power-up, and turn glowing red eyes to face him.

The Overload robot speaks, its voice sounding as if it emanates from a substantially larger creature; a veritable wall of sound which washes over Gregory like a tidal wave.

"Lay down your arms. Submit to Unity. Become one with me, and you shall be one with a greater mind. Your lives in flesh are transitory. Your lives in me shall endure forever. Submit to Unity. All else is meaningless. Submit to Unity."
