Hey folks, there's something I've been curious about since I started doing the whole PBP thing but haven't been able to find any real discussion on or the etiquette involved and that's the topic of relationships/sex, both NPC/PC and PC/PC. Awhile back it occurred to me that I might want to decide on what my own personal comfort level is with this since people *do* occasionally play flirty characters or characters who are open to finding love and/or a good roll in the hay during the course of their adventures.

I've seen some discussion about handling NPC/PC relationships from a GM's perspective and I imagine those are probably easier to manage since all the GM really has to do is throw the option out there and let the PC(s) respond to it or not *or* put something in for PCs who have stated in-character or out that they're looking for that sort of thing.

The PC-PC thing is trickier, though. If any of you have taken that route with a character, have you just let it happen organically or was there a behind-the-scenes discussion to make sure that the other player would be cool with it and if so, what the in-character boundaries needed to be? I'm asking this across several of the games I'm in because if I ever make a character who would go that route or if one of my existing ones decides to try her luck with someone, I don't want to commit some sort of PBP faux pas or come across as creepy about it since there isn't the same level of familiarity with other posters that you have with a regular RL group :)

I have never encountered it PC to PC and only one campaign did I see PC to NPC. I think most GM's avoid it. I don't think that it would be as much of a problem in pbp as table top, but who knows.

Not only have I seen Npc to PC but I encourage it. In my experience watching that relationship unfold adds depth and meaning to the game, and also keeps other players on the edge of their seat to see if the two will finally kiss etc. so by all means. PC to PC I haven't seen, but mostly cause in table top it might cause awkwardness for te pcs depending on their relationship =}

I should probably clarify that I'm comfortable with keeping things PG13 or so at the most, should such a thing ever come up in our game. Though to be honest, I don't really see Palo entering into a relationship with anyone unless they had a lot of patience for her snark!

But anyhoo, it's good to get some positive feedback and see how folks feel about that sort of thing. Thanks for humoring me and my questions :)

I'm totally ok with "it" (relationships or trysts of PC/NPCs or any mix of those) as long as the romance OR physicality is not gratuitous.

For the record, Ask is attracted to power and confidence, not a particular species, gender or orientation. But she shares her player's heightism. Sorry Fij. ;)

Heightism runs both ways; my witch received a similar response from the party gnome when I posed my question to that particular discussion thread :P

Does Relas disappear at 0 hitpoints, or does he linger a bit?

He disappears when he hits negative hitpoints equal to or greater than his Con score (13) but Palomia also has the Loyalty across Lifetimes trait which lets him treat his Con score as two points higher (15) before he's banished.

He was at 8 and just took uh....18 I think, so he's currently at -10 I believe.

@palo yeah if that's the case then yeah he won't be banished and should just be dying

lol i get the feeling this situation with the head is going to get even more wacky, and i'm gonna love every minute of it ^>^

^Sometimes those "WTF" moments in gaming make for the best memories. This is right up there with the cavalier in my Mummy's Mask game managing to take his clothes off with his armor still on :3

Sorry about that, TRO. I'll admit that some of my attention to this game has faltered in the wake of real life business and some of my other games being more active and requiring more of my time. Hopefully some fresh blood will help perk things up; I'll try to go post in your new recruitment thread a little later to give prospective recruits some additional information. Until then, I'll try and work on making my posts more 'useful' and frequent :)

Paizo is not allowing me to creat an new Alias for BoB. Think this has been going on a day or so. I will get an alias up for him soon as the boards are fixed. BoB has not ties to Torch directly, but he could easily find himself their hunting down a robot.
