I was just curious, I thought it was cosmetic mostly, for now i think he will just go with the.. she is an exotic looking half elf.. must be her human side showing. Perhaps someone wiser in the ways of the world can clue him in... not that it matters much.
Also if any of you want me to tone down the wooing of fair maid and focus on the building of a kingdom just let me know. Been out of roleplaying for a bit, and what i did get was modules and cramped (necessarily i might add) rulesets that dont really have time or allow for such pursuits.

Well yeah, society play in my area consists of mostly min-maxing combat monsters who are heavy on crunch and light on rp. Its a style but sometimes you want more. And my last home gaming group i had to leave behind when i had to move from california like 4 years ago, so im stuck with that and/or when i visit my friends in tennessee. We have a game that takes place about every other month for a day, its been going on like 2 years now.
yeah for the most part and I dont mind it, I just dont want everyone to feel left out or that im hogging the spotlight is all I guess. I didnt mean for you to pull back or anything I meant me. I dont want group goals to get sidetracked by personal charector goals I guess i mean. I am enjoying everyone's addendums. Heck I'm sure Cerian is quite appreciative, since he didnt have a whole lot of experiance with such things.

The other pbp campaign i started on here at about the same time i feel the same way, being new to pbp i dont want to tread on toes accidently. I am loving things so far honestly. I think i check my phone or computer about every three hours at the minimum. Heck at work its been like every 15 minutes. (yay having a job where my job is basically to stay awake all night.)
My first experiance with society like play was back in 3rd ed and the living city campaign. I actually have like a 13 chapter 180 page backstory for how our group met. I really need to finish that story by the way. They are reaching the climatic boss fight >.>

Society play frustrates me for the exact same reason- they want the experience of the story to be identical for every group, and to make that happen, you're not allowed to have any meaningful interactions with NPCs that aren't preprogrammed. It stinks.
I am having fun so far! It's nice of you to check in with us to see how we feel about the whole thing, though. I appreciate that more than you know!
And so far all you've done is given us extra things to talk about in-character. Nothing wrong with that as far as I can tell ^__^
I fully support having pure fluff subplots going on in the story. It's a refreshing change for me. I tend to be way too plot focused, so it's really nice to step back and smell the flowers in this game.
I'm probably partially so plot focused because I DM so much. If I don't stay focused on the plot in those games, no one will. D:

Rodric isn't really qualified to give love advice though. He's only had one girlfriend, and she was a piece of work! Crazy... He was very naive when he joined the military.
I apologize for not having posted in game yet. I always find it difficult to re-join the goings-on after coming back from an absence.
I hope that helps Rodric, I agree it would be one thing if we had a big established presense here, we could easily like write off why you gone like "discussing this instance with group so and so. or the like. But from a tactical stand point at least riding slack from the main group gives you a reason to have not been directly present for most of the happenings.
(the 'slack' from a military standpoint is that person in a group moving somewhat tactcally who is between the point man and the main group. Close enough to both to be able to provide support to the point man, close enough to haul back to the main group if OMG stuff happens up front.) Just in case anyone wasnt super clear on what i meant by that. I do sometimes dip into military speak. Though less and less the longer ive been out.
and mostly teasing involved... but i really hope crazy ex girlfriends from militaries somehow show up somehow. Who doesnt like that in their drama shows on tv? I kid i kid... sort of.*lawls*

just to be sure, are you mapping the hexes on the way to the mites, and the mites hex, or just travelling there to deal with it? If just travelling there you'd get there around nightfall, it would be at least 3days just for the mapping for the interveneing hexes
