Zhor waits patiently with the others, ready to rush in when the signal is given.


Glitch fires two shots and the electrical transformer shuts down, dropping power throughout the neighborhood. There's a few people who wander out into the street, confused about what's going on, as the party rushes across the street into the apartment building.

Glitch:
The privacy shade cells on the window, deprived of power, clear up, allowing Kitty's feed to transmit the apartment insides - revealing a nicely appointed apartment, though marred by the signs of a struggle and bloodstains. In the center of the room, looking about in confusion at the loss of power, stands a tall elven man in a fine suit.

As the party clusters in the lobby, there's a quick realization - with the power cut, that means that you are going to need to take the stairs up to the apartment.

Building the encounters now so hopefully it's easier for me to fire off quick posts during the week, even if work stays as busy as it has been. Any last-second preparations before you head to Shurami's floor?

The party comes out of the stairwell into a darkened hallway. You walk quietly to the corner across from the door to Shurami's apartment - and almost smack-dab into a pair of four-armed security robot, who begin to swivel to attention.

Glitch:
Kitty observes as the elf in the room moves to take cover next to an interior wall in the living room, drawing a pistol and looking about the place for signs of an attacker.

Five foot steps are no longer 'free' actions in Starfinder - they cost a move action to take, no exceptions - so only a single attack. We'll take the damage from... 1d2 ⇒ 2

Blask's claws are so sharp and strong at this point, they're tearing holes in the metal with ease. The robot sparks and staggers at the claw damage.

The first robot continues to take hit after hit, including a bullet through the chassis, struggling to react to the sudden onslaught.

It's partner, unbothered by the attacks it's partner is experiencing, opens fire on Nilan and Blask, spraying the hallway with lasers.

Nilan's acrobatic battle strategy means the robot can't draw a bead, but Blask's more 'in-your-face' methodology earns him a pretty severe suntan.

Zhor pushes past Blask and comes up behind the robot.

This move will provoke an AoO form the robot.

Once past, Zhor claws at the robot, trying to tear through its metal hide.

Claw +2 Flank: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11 ...probably not.


Zhor rushes into the fray, anticipating violence from the robot in front - but the robot is still struggling to react. No AoO, still flat-footed.

However, it does successfully react once Zhor is in place. It staggers to the other side of the hallway, and there's a loud zzzzZZZZ*POP* - a panel in the thing's chest flashes, and begins to smoke, but you can see currents of technomantic energy surging across the robot, repairing some of the dents and rends inflicted upon it.

Caloo's missiles rather effectively undo all of the repairs the robot had done to itself, but the robot remains standing (if slighly askew).

Glitch:
As you watch, the elf seems to multiply - suddenly, you can see 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 of him, standing perched on the couch, weapons drawn.

Honestly, no idea - nothing in the rules about lasers getting an exception, but scientifically I think they would? And I'll give it some rule of cool, so sure, go ahead. You can bet I'm checking my encounters for glass moving forward though. ;)


Kitty receives the command to ready a shot if the target tries to disappear, or if the door is opened. Kitty makes sure to grab hold of a frame, in case the window gets broken in the fight.

I took Step Up feat: Whenever an adjacent foe attempts to take a guarded step away from you, you can also take a guarded step as a reaction as long as you end up adjacent to the foe that triggered this ability. I presume it was a guarded step and therefore move with it and then take a swing as it’s firing a ranged weapon in melee?

Caloo zaps the robot, and Zhor lands a painful blow on the thing, though Blask's relentless assault fails to connect.

Glitch:
Your readied action fails to go off - the elf is perched on the couch, aiming for the door with all of his doubles, but has not triggered the readied action. Looks like he's waiting for something, too.

Jink readies to fire, pending the response to Nilan's demands.


Glitch:
Kitty opens fire through the glass of the window... 1 is good: 1d3 ⇒ 3 and shoots one of the holographic clones clear through the head. It pops, leaving 2 of the elf... both of whom are looking directly at Kitty in surprise and anger.

No response to Nilan yet, as it's not the elf's turn. Botting Blask to keep things moving as I know I won't have another time to post today.

Blask attacks the adjacent robot, trying to put some truth to Nilan's bluff.

Full Attack: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 8 - 4 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

However, the robot's defenses prove too much for the soldier.

He unleashes another stream of magic missiles on it.

Zhor continues to press the advantage with Blask, moving up to attack the robot.

The claws rake across the chassis of the robot, making a hellish sound, but fail to do any lasting damage.

Glitch:
The elf ducks into an alcove as Kitty shoots, taking a pot-shot on the little robot as he goes.

The shot hit kitty dead on, dealing 8 cold damage to the little robot as lenses frost over and metal warps under the super-chilled blast.

Jink's readied shot puts down the robot, the automaton splaying against the wall with it's dying throes.

Jink, Glitch, you can give me regular turn actions since Jinks' readied action invalidated your stated actions. Jink now goes with Caloo due to the readied action reshuffle.

Blask move to the door and opens it in a way to use the door as a barrier between him and the hostile elf.


The space-age doors slide into the walls, leaving no cover for anyone standing in front of the door. Blask manages to open the door from a covered position on the wall.

Something has changed. Caloo and Jink are now acting after... something.
