Yeah, the HALO guys are sweet. Started writing a story featuring HALO once, but realized it was becoming a mash-up of Halo, Gears of War, and Resistance... So I abandoned it in the name of copyright infringement.

On the subject of who our characters sound like I can not help but Imagine Scarlett Johansson for my character. Most of you would know her has the Black Widow from the Avengers.

I've changed my mind. Q doesn't have a deep enough voice for an Elite. Instead I chose Tony Jay.

Most notably known for playing Judge Frollo in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. That's a better voice for an elite, don't you think?

Ram'Daim brought up who would your character sound like and finally after much thought I have decided Mar'Gonee sounds like Bruce Willis.

I'm thinking Mark Wahlburg would be a suitable voice for my character.

So, I was thinking, and tell me how this would work, or at all.

Could I be able to make a Knowledge: Engineering check to build and launch a probe to Paradise? No one has been there yet, so one question I have is would we be able to even land there without having to resort to breathing equipment.

The probe would contain sensors for atmospheric conditions, life forms of any kind, and maybe even a technology sensor if it could fit.

Based on the current path of the ship and the location and trajectory of Paradise and the ship we're on, the probe--if launched from a standard missile pod--would land on Paradise in roughly an hour.

Also, what's the name of the ship we're on? The Gorgon is the small decoy ship the fireteam is on. What's the name of the large exploration vessel everyone else is on?

EDIT: One more question, what's the name of the AI that pilots the ship? I love that name, by the way

EDIT: The name of the AI is Daniel. Daniel is a fan of the Victorian era, and dresses accordingly. His avatar has a monocle, top hat, and bow tie. The avatar is also dominated by the color red.

the fly roll was high enough to manuver the probe out of the way of anything it could possibly crash into...The argument could EASILY be made that I as a HUMAN marine Corp PILOT am not use to ELITE PILOT controls to FORERUNNER CRAP...something only me AND the ELITE Can understand...so EXCUSE ME IF YOUR NOT HAPPY WITH MY PERFORMANCE!

In the end, it's the GM's ruling as to what happens to the probe.

Does anyone have a prefered way to do Battle, or should we just simply use the messageboards? I think the boards should be fine, since, for the most part, we'll be using guns.

I prefer maps. But if you're not up for making them, we can just use the boards. Just make sure everything is clearly described and that people post in order or it gets really confusing really fast.

Alright, I'm going to see if I can figure out a map for this place, and post it on a google doc. I'm also going to roll initiative for all of you here and you may post when it is your turn. Try to be on, though, because waiting for one person all day can get slow and bothersome.

roll20.net is good for maps.

Another good option is MapTool, but you have to build up a library of images before it's any real use.

One DM I have just uses google docs spreadsheets and colors in the cells different colors to represent whatever. Ghetto, but it works.

If one person takes more than 24 hours to act in combat, just DMPC them for that round.

Good idea. I say, that I'll think about doing roll20, I don't know how to do it just quite yet, but I can figure it out. Shouldn't be too hard.

I don't yet have a roll20 account, but I can make one. Any way we end up doing combat works by me.

I like the idea of a Hearo-Point system. Perhaps something along the lines of one point per encounter, based on a vote system among us in the discussion on who gets it?

How you use the points is up for debate. I've always done it where when you get three, you can trade them in for one free reroll.

I'm fine either way. If we do use hero points we should probably just use the rules on d20pfsrd.com.

I am indifferent since some of my games do some of them do not.

Either way works. Sometimes I like the idea, because it really lets you do something, for lack of a better word, heroic--the impossible tasks that heroes occasionally pull off. The whole "cheat death" thing is also interesting.

But I dunno. I'm up for either/or.

I'd say that if they were a playable race, they'd have low-light vision as well as something involving increased vision, since they have multi-lensed eyes.

Oh high and mighty GM, if we roll a nat one in combat do we have to roll for a fumble...I know a nifty chart for confirmed fumbles.

Also, good work field-team! I've only seen one other combat go that fast before, and it was because of Color Spray at 1st lvl.

I keep an eye on it constantly, however, I will say that a small OOC tag on each of the DM's post telling us who he still needs actions from is very helpful in combat.

Also putting the intiative order outside a spoiler, and reposting it each round is helpful. As is a clear delineation of rounds, not sure if Tirq was intending to post one or not. I believe this combat lasted exactly one round so it didn't come up yet.

Just a suggestion. I thought that combat went extremely well Tirq. Especially for not having a map.

I have my browser open automatically to my campaign tab whenever I start it up, so I can keep a close eye on it.

Does anyone want to be the cartographer? I'll just need some blank maps with co-ordinates on the sides. Like A-G on top with 1-10 on the side. Google docs would be the best way to publish them. Any volunteers?
