For years the trade routes around Sandport were calm and mostly safe, even the old “goblin bounty" was discontinued. But now a group of goblins seems to have gotten their hands on firework and started to raid caravans again, disrupting trade and travel. Fearing that they'll spark a new wave of monster activity Sheriff Hemlock renewed the bounty, pledging 10 gold coins per goblins ear and an additional 500 for the eradication of this particular tribe. Determined to ensure the safety of the town and convinced the money best goes to you, you met up with some friends at the Rusty Dragon tavern to plan your foray into the marsh.

Hello! I'm starting up recruitment for a Jade Regent adventure path with Pathfinder. This will be my first time running a PbP but not my first time DM'ing. So lets get down to what you will need to make up your character.

Character Creation:

Point buy: 15 - stats no lower than 8 and no higher than 17 AFTER racial adjustments
Races: Core races only.
Classes: No Gunslingers, Summoners or paladin(and the complication that comes with them). Archetypes allowed but must be approved. I'd like a good reason for the Class/Archetype you pick.
Alignment: no evil
Traits: 2 - One campaign, one adventure.
HP: max 1st level, after half+1 or rolled.
Starting gold: 150gp
Source material: Paizo only, no 3PP
Posting frequency: One post per weekday minimum. But I know life gets in the way, so I will either take your go for you let you make it up.
Maps: I will be using the Jade Regent Interactive Maps, posted.
Initiative: To keep the flow of that game going i will be using a one team goes then the other. Broken up initiative can slow a game down I will make this all clear later on (Idea "borrowed" from JamZilla)
Number of Players: I'm going for 4-5 but that could change.

A good interesting back-story that gets me excited about your character and could be used in future plot will go a long way towards getting you a slot. I like the little things, get me excited to see how your character evolves. I don't need a novel, but a couple of paragraphs of back-story plus description as a minimum please.

After I've picked i may give you all a day or two to role play so you can introduce yourselves to each other before we start, you are meant to be friends or at least know of each other enough to group up.

Jade Regent Player's Guide

Interested in playing, probably will submit this character but I need to make some changes. I will let you know when he is ready.

Yes, very much yes. Yui is made for this campaign and had some great rp in another recruitment thread for a game that needed a replacement. Unfortunately they wanted someone who had ties with another NPC. Yui will link up with Ameiko.

Please check her background and other posts to see her character :).

She is a wayang witch focussed on shadows, I hope that her race is not an issue? It's PFS legal now ;).

Very interested, would like to submit with a druid, a halfling I think. I would most likely take the Student Survivalist trait. A druid and a ranger make a 'natural' team.

Will make a char tonight.

What is the timetable? When do you want to start and how long can we post characters?

I am interested in playing, never played a pbp but have played a few real life and roll20 games. I have a new office job with excessive free time and no restrictions on internet use, so I will be very active.

I will likely play a martial character as all my other characters have been spell casters. I will post my build tonight.

Silver Crusade

I'm totally interested. I have an alchemist I can edit to be campaign-appropriate, or I could run with any number of other ideas I have floating around.

I've never played Jade Regent before, but I do have the player's guide and would love to be a part of the campaign!

Grand Lodge

Brand new to the site here, but definitely interested!

Will try to figure this site out and post an application up! (Under this Alias!)

Vanyella Andosana is ready to play, and so am I. She's an elf monk and Shalelu's little sister. I've never played PbP or Jade Regent before, but I've been looking through other PbP games, and I have an idea of how it works. I've got experience with the Pathfinder system and more with D&D 3.5. Thanks for your consideration.

Definitely interested in playing this! :)

I have a couple of concepts; my Bloodrager Dietrich who is a classic front-line damage specialist, easy to hit but can dish it out in spades too. The other option is an archer bard - Fletcher, buffing and inspiration with some secondary ranged support.

Hmmmm.... choices...

Dotting for interest, will ponder a character and submit tomorrow.

Dotting.

Would having a character be a sibling (or half-sibling) of one of the NPCs be an issue? I have an idea peculating in my head, and I wanted to know before I did the write up.

Liberty's Edge

I to would like to apply. I have a half-elf druid made up and ready to go, just need to change up his stats for 15 point build. I should have him reworked and presented at most tomorrow (though probably much sooner).

Dotting. Definitely interested in joining, and will have to think on what to bring to the table.

There we go one half-elf druid for your consideration. Man carrying capacity is a killer on non-strength based characters.

I believe I have gotten everything changed I triple checked it, but if I did miss anything let me know.

Also my wisdom is a 15+2 for racial trait.

Grand Lodge

Have my character complete and sorted out! Have been PbPing for years across a bunch of different sites!

Let me know if I've missed or not included something right!

Couple of quick questions Ictoo; are you planning on hero points in this game? And one other thing, when you mention that after level 1 players can take average +1 hit points or roll, can you decide to take average +1 after seeing the results of the roll? And if not, will you be rolling the hp?

Actually that turned into quite a lot of questions lol

Dotting, I've got a soft spot for this ap, and I've never had the chance to get in on this campaign, so I'll see if I can get a submission together today

....Dot for interest! Would the Wild Child archetype for Brawler be acceptable? Got an idea for a character that's been adopted by Koya floating around in my head, but want to make sure things are kosher before I write anything up :)

Silver Crusade

Extremly interested.
This is the AP I want to play from the first moment I read about it. This char was selected once and the GM disappeared after maybe 15 posts.
Human Samurai.
Just have to put him to 15 PB but that should be the smallest problem.
What I offer.
Experience, in PBP as in Japanese culture, history and the ins and out of Bushido, so that I can offer a Samurais Samurai!

The Exchange

I submit Okus for interest.

A shoanti from one of the tribes near Sandpoint, Okus spent his youth running the wilds under the guidance of Shaleelu. He Never felt quite at home in his tribe, feeling they were starting to lose their feel for the wilds with their interactions and assimilation to Sandpoint.

As such, the hunting trips with the elven ranger were a soothing balm to his growing restlessness and strength. It was his first kill that unleashed his inner rage. The goblin had caught him by surprise, leaping on his back and sinking its rusted weapon deep into his side. The fear turned to rage and he lost track of that fight. When his vision finally cleared, he had torn the creature apart using his hands and teeth. The carnage reached him at a primal level, touching something deep inside that he feared to look at.

Again the elf proved his saviour, teaching him to focus his rage and treat each kill as a professional task in clearing the wilds of the evil that seemed to be growing in Varisia.

Now he had come of age, his tribe held no interest for him and his natural list for adventure had taken over. He was ready to travel, but still had to prove himself in he the eyes of his mentor. This job might just be what he needs to show himself as a True Shoanti warrior, one who can run the wilds and defeat his foes with ease. The offer of gold doesn't concern him, it is prestige and respect he craves.

Dotting. Considering a socially awkward kensai magus. :)

Having read through the Player's Guide, I can see a lot of great role playing opportunities with the NPCS.

So on that basis I am going to submit my halfling bard, Fletch.

Backstory:

Fletcher Woodward was born to a wealthy merchant family in Magnimar. He was well educated in a fine school, taught the gentlemanly sports of archery and fencing and, as an only child, was groomed to become the next generation of the Woodward Trading Company.

In his teenage years Fletch became fascinated with music and dance, often spending every coin of his allowance to visit the many fine theatres in the city. He even joined a small weekend drama group, much-approved by his parents who felt his natural charisma would only be enhanced by the energy and acting abilities displayed there – fine qualities for a trader. However, coin and caravans were of little interest for Fletch, he knew he had been graced with a strong voice and a song in his heart and truly all he wanted to do is perform.

It wasn’t long after that he stole a meagre sum of money from his parents, knowing they would never approve of his decision not to follow in their footsteps. He used the money to secure a place in a travelling theatre group about to go on tour of Varisia, leaving a note for his parents that he had gone to chase his dream and someday soon, everyone back home will be proud of him. “

He began as a backstage hand but within a year his infectious energy and undoubted talent led to him gaining the affection and admiration of his fellow performers.

As the years passed Fletcher would perform with the band night after night, earning rave reviews and slowly gaining popularity – even in some of the bigger cities. It finally seemed as if his dream would be fulfilled.

However, the path of the musician can be fraught with danger because fame also brings jealousy. There were several performers that had been with the troupe many years before Fletcher joined and their resentment grew with every standing ovation, every thrown flower. It was in the small frontier town of Sandpoint that they finally made their move. He had never been so full of nervous energy. The troupe had stopped in the town to take on supplies before pushing on to a career-defining performance in Magnimar. It was to be his triumphant return, his chance to show his parents the man he had become!

Sadly, the night before they were due to leave, three men in outlandish disguises attacked Fletcher as he slept, beating him badly and venting their years of frustration. Binding him, they hid him away in an abandoned hunting lodge deep in the swamp, hoping to conceal him long enough for the troupe to roll on. Members of the band were bemused by his disappearance but a forged note from one of the attackers explained everything.

“You hacks are dragging me down. I’ve gone on to Magnimar alone, I’ve outgrown this band and decided it’s time I flew solo.”

It was difficult to accept for many of them but what choice did they have? They left the town and Fletcher never saw them again.

He managed to eventually squeeze himself out of the ropes that were binding him but by then the caravans were long gone. Stranded, injured and without a penny to his name, Fletcher was distraught. Between the stinking bogs, the bands of goblins and the terrifying legend of the Sandpoint Devil – he surely would have died if it wasn’t for the assistance of a beautiful elven Ranger named Shalelu.

She came across him in the swamp whilst out hunting goblins, a pastime she seemed to enjoy a little too much for Fletcher's taste. A fact upon which he remarked on the way back to town. Shalelu didn't seem amused by that, so he stayed quiet the rest of the way and tried to think about his next move. Fletcher found himself in the town of Sandpoint with the ragged clothes on his back, a silver coin he kept hidden in his boot for emergencies and not a clue about anything else. So he did what any man in his situation might; found himself a drink.Turns out, he couldn't think of anything at all.

It turned out the owner of the Rusty Dragon was an exotic woman named Ameiko, who was taken by Fletch's plight and through some chicanery turned his silver coin into four pints of ale - a tremendous amount for a halfling to consume. With spirit emboldened by drink he made the wondrous statement that the Rusty Dragon could become reknowned as the Greatest Inn North of Magnimar! - if only they had someone as talented as himself to perform there. Calling his bluff, she sent him staggering on to the stage that very instant but even she had to concede that despite finishing his song by pitching headlong onto a table of surly loggers, he could most certainly.

Months later, Fletcher and Ameiko had formed a firm friendship and he found gainful employment as a regular performer at the Dragon. He knew most of the people in town by that point and always had a friendly grin and a how'd-you-do for them all.

Still set on returning to Magnimar some day, Fletcher jumped at the chance to sign up for the Goblin Bounties. there was real money to be made in that game and after only a couple of forays into the swamp, he would have enough to return home.

Style:

Like many of his race, Fletch is a plucky optimist with a happy disposition that is largely infectious. He is a master of seeing the bright side in any situation – a quality that can be both reassuring or infuriating. Although perfectly friendly and charming with new people, Fletcher has built up a large circle of ‘acquaintances’ but rarely lets any close enough to call a true friend. Those he does however, he remains fiercely loyal to. He is a natural charmer with a rogueish sense of humour and easy grin.

Appearance:

Although tall for his race, Fletcher still borders on the skinny side giving him an odd gangling look, particularly when wearing his favoured skin-tight cotton breeches and his one good silk shirt. He has shoulder length brown hair that he keeps idly drawn back with a leather string and usually has a number of day’s growth on his chin. His eyes are a light blue and he has perfectly straight, white teeth, often his most notable feature.

Background:

Erik was born 24 years ago, third child to two loving parents. He grew up on the outskirts of a small rural village where his parents had a small farm. From a young age Erik and his siblings worked on their parent’s farm, life was harsh but good. The years went on and Erik grew into a young man, sharing his mother’s interest for nature, he frequently explored the surrounding woods. It was on one of these trips he would find trouble with a capital T. Being out and about Erik had wandered a bit too far and found himself in a forbidden part of the woods. Recent rumors told of disappearances in this part of the woods. Gathering some herbs for his mother Erik came face to face with 3 goblins. Not really armed, besides a small dagger, Erik decided to flee. He run as fast he could and thought he had outrun the kobolds when a he turned round the corner to come face to face with a ‘big’ goblin holding a large blade. Unable to dodge the coming attack, Erik felt the blade cutting him across the throat. Feeling the blood flow from the apparent mortal wound Erik put both is hands on his throat to stop the bleeding. Last thing he remembered while he lost consciousness was the ugly grin on the goblins face.
He must be dreaming, on his way to his forefathers, when a wet sensation came over him. It was more of someone was washing his face and throat with a sturdy cloth. Opening his eyes Erik got the scare of his life. A small striped cat was licking his face and the wound on his neck. Cursed I must be to almost die at the hand of that goblin, to survive by a miracle, then to get eaten by a tiger Erik thought to himself. Please make this painless and quick.
After half a minute he still hadn’t been killed so Erik opened his eyes again to look straight into the cats eyes. He was pleasantly surprised to see not bloodlust or hunger but intelligence and kindness.
A friendship was born that moment between Cuddles, tiger and Erik, halfling.
Cuddles protected Erik while he nursed himself back to life using the skills his mother had told him. After a week he was strong enough to travel and he set out for his home.
Devastated he was when he came upon the burned out ruins of his parent’s farm. No sign of any survivors Erik grieved for 2 days. That day Erik died and Scar the Silent was born. Having no family left and without a home Erik decided to find his mother’s old friend, the ranger Shalelu.
The last year with Shalelu Scar improved his already existing nature skills, becoming a druid. When asked by Shalelu for help he didn’t hesitate, seeing this is a chance to repay her for all her help and wisdom.

Description:

Scar has a tanned skin from being outside all the time. He looks at the world with his brown eyes in a positive way without forgetting the hardship that made him who he is today. His clean-shaven bald head has a nice shine to it in the morning sun. He wears a travelers outfit fit for living outdoors, all brown and green with a sturdy black leather armor over it.

The Exchange

Withdrawing Okus, going to run my own game instead. Good luck to you all.

I nominate for your consideration, Scienter Stafford, Human Wizard specializing in conjuration.

Background is in the "Description" section of this character sheet.

Submitting Sofiel here, with his Backstory, Crunch, Plot Hook data, appearance and personality all loaded into his profile for inspection.

Backstory:

Sofiel Tupilek and his family arrived in Sandpoint when they were very young, his mother having left Kalsguard for reasons she would not tell her two sons, nor where their father was. At that age, both brothers accepted her wishes, and adjusted to live within Sandpoint relatively well, although a gulf separated the two boys. Where Sofiel was shy, and largely indepentant, content to sit in the forests and sketch any animals or particularly beautiful scenes, his older brother Iradli was more self-assured, more intelligent, and physically stronger. Iradli was well aware that his brother had a deep crush on a pretty girl by the name of Ameiko, and used to constantly tease his younger sibling that he could get her to pick him over his brother – or worse, that she wasn’t interested in him anyway. Sorfiel was always distressed by this teasing, but never felt confident enough to act on his crush, though he would insist on sketching Ameiko in his spare time, largely without her knowledge.

As life went on, both boys grew up, and began to ask more pointed questions regarding their father. Their mother finally relenting, informing them that there was a legend, that their family were descendants of high ranking members of the Jinin nation in Tian Xia. Across the ages, members of the family had gone looking for evidence of this, the search consuming them, but they were always disappointed. Sofiel accepted his mother’s plea that he would never act upon this “sickness” that drove people into chasing this fictional dream, but Iradli refused, deciding he would become a genealogist, and find out the truth.

True to his word, Iradli left the house, and returned to Kalsguard, writing letters all the while and informing the family of his progress (or lack thereof). Progress was apparently slow, and Iradli told them he was widening his search, wondering if there were any records of the family name passing through other nations of Tien Xia, such as Minkai – a link Iradli was particularly hopeful about, due to the longstanding Samurai links between both nations.

Sofiel devoured the news, but was caught by surprise when they received a latter, blotted with ink stains – it had obviously been written with much haste. Iradli informed them that he had discovered something truly wonderful during his research, and that he would be home soon. Neither Sofiel nor his mother realised at the time that letter would be the last words they would ever receive from him.

When Iradli did not return home, Sofiel made enquires, and discovered that his brother had died soon after, his throat slit in Kalsguard, the law enforcement lacking any solid leads. Distraught, and tormented by what his brother had discovered, Sofiel prepared to leave, ignoring his now especially sick mother’s plea’s for him to stay home and forget about it, informing him that the search would consume him like his brothers search consumed him. Perhaps some part of Sofiel blamed her for what had happened, it was after all, her story that had led to this, but for whatever reason Sofiel left the house anyway, and left for Kalsguard to learn more.

Unfortunately, Sofiel fared no better in discovering who had committed the crime, nor what his brother had wanted to tell him. A contact told him that it had been a very professional job, but with nothing else to go on, it was chalked up to wrong place, wrong time, and Sofiel’s usually peaceful temperament was tested by this. Fighting with his grief and anger, Sofiel lashed out, trying to summon the very spirits to his own will. Sadly, his emotions had clouded his good sense, and he lost control, the spirits latching onto his body, a possession taking effect.

When Sofiel realised what he had done, he was overcome with shame. Not only had he dragged spirits from the very spirit world to further his own selfish aims, but he had ignored his mother’s advice, and paid the very price she had suggested he would. Embarrassed and unable to return home, for fear of how his…condition would have an effect on her. He spent time on his own, communicating with the spirits within his own body, asking for forgiveness for dragging them from their home. Thankfully, Sofiel’s mind and body was his own, the spirits within him promising they wished him no harm. Despite this, Sofiel did not return home, until he received news that his mother had passed away, and he headed into Sandpoint to pay his respects. Although still anxious as to how his old friends would react upon seeing him again, the spirits within him granted him confidence, and a self-assurance his bother would have been proud of. After paying his respects, Sofiel still found himself at a loose end, the world open to him but lacking a defined purpose. With nothing better to do, he decided to participate in the goblin bounty, deciding to use the time to catch up with old friends, and maybe gain some new purpose in his life.

Plot Hooks:

O.k, so I left a few Plot hooks if you (the GM), wanted some inspiration. Plot Hook #1 is Sofiel discovering what his brother wanted to tell him, as well as who / why his brother was killed. Aside from this, Sofiel could eventually discover his links (if any), to Tien Xia like the legend claimed and/or what happened to his father, which he knows next to nothing about. Lastly, I am sure there are many situations or interactions that could provide a great roleplay benefit, as to Sofiel and his spirits, be it in a particularly spiritual area, in a situation where they might disagree and so on. I don't mind developing this "hooks" with you (the GM), or with you developing them on your own in isolation, either is fine.

Appearance and Personality:

Sofiel is a Male Half Elf, that traditionally wears rather loose fitting "robes". Living on his own recently, as well as spending time traveling, most of his clothing is weather beaten, well worn, and unlikely to be fully fashion conscious. Sofiel has green eyes, dark brown hair and slightly tanned skin.

As far as personality goes, Sofiel still retains some how his shyness that existed before his possession, but he is much more socially aware than he was previously. This can largely be contributed to the spirits inside him, which also granted him greater insight over animals themselves, as an unseen side effect. Sofiel still retains his love of nature, and his love of sketching (he picked up his sketchbook when he returned home to pay his respects. His brush with revenge has taught him to not get overly reckless, to think and plan things through, although in particularly stressful situations the spirits can influence him into taking slightly more rash actions than he otherwise might take. As the journey goes, Sofiel will constantly wrestle with the spirits, not so much for control but in an attempt for him to try to be the person he once was, with the spirits trying to encourage him to accept who he is now, and move towards reinventing himself.

I would like to apply with Liu Na Pei, tavern waitress at the Rusty Dragon, Best Friend of Ameiko, and secret bodyguard of the Kaijitsu family. Liu Na's stats and background are in this profile.

Full Disclosure: I have participated in 2 Jade Regent PbP's here on the Paizo site - I had to drop out of the first one 1.5 years ago due to work commitments...

Spoiler:
... just after finishing up in the marshes.

The second one stalled last year...
Spoiler:
... just as we reached Brinewall Castle.

Thanks for your consideration, and best of luck to everyone!

I too should point out that this character was created for a Jade Regent game a long time ago, and several since. Not a single one of the games he has been accepted into has lasted longer than a month and never even gotten to the first encounter.

I'd like to offer Dranillis as a submission. He's an Elven Inquisitor of Desna.

Hello everyone, it's nice to see all your submissions! I'll answer your question now.

@Yui Hirasawa I'd prefer if you stuck to the guidelines - But i will take a proper look at your profile today.

@Wald The timetable is one week recruitment with a start about a day or two after.

@|dvh| Whatever you would enjoy the most! I find you get the best out of people then :)

@AdamWarnock Not really an issue as long as we talk it out first.

@Dietrich Stone I'm still deciding on Hero points - What i'm thinking is Hero points but with a few house rules nothing too harsh.(No saving two hero points to not die). I will roll for you and you take that roll, no deciding after the roll.(I may bring in a system where barbarians don't end up rolling ones, but i will lay that out later.)

@Lady Ladile I'm fine with that archetype, i like animal companions. So get it written up.

@Wrath Good luck with your game!

@Liu Na That shouldn't be a problem, as long as you can separate what you know and your character knows.

@Everyone else It's all looking good i've had a quick look so far, but i will wait and comment when all submissions are in at the end of the week.

If the race is a problem I could swap it to another, but shadows and the race mesh so well :).

Please note that currently she is lvl 2 and I think pb20. These are minor changes that I can adjust soon.

It's the character I'm selling. The build is of minor importance. I could switch her to another race (shame about the drop in int it will give). And I was hoping to give the witch as whirl. I could possibly transform her to a gnome illusionist sorcerer, but am hoping to keep her as she is as much as possible :).

Silver Crusade

QuickBackground:

Orphaned boy found by a wandering monk and brought to sandpoint. The monk worked as a tattoing master in the town. Gohei was trained by the monk and some other teachers in the art of kenjutsu. When he got to age, he spend two years taking care of his foster father, fulfilling the bushido duty of 孝 kō, Filial piety he stayed with him during his old age. After his father died, Gohei decided to start a Musha shugyō, a warriors pilgrimage to learn other styles of combat. Selling his meager belongings he is about to begin when the story starts.

Combat:

Running to the orc [oocC5/ooc] Gohei starts a sun and moon strike, bringing his Katana down in an overhead slash [Dice /dice] striking a deep wound in the orcs leg or ... but his balance is not perfect and he misses the orc by an inch.

Noncombat:
Slowly moving to his horse Gohei turns around. " It is our Duty! And it is unimportant that non one knows. We do know." Turning back to his horse as everything important has been said Gohei mounts it and looks at the others expectingly.

So looks like we have quite a few submissions and a good mixture already:

Scienter Stafford - Wizard - Arcane
Yui Hirasawa - Witch- Arcane
Eden Nightseed - Druid - Divine
Scar the Silent - Druid - Divine
Sofiel Tupilek - Shaman - Divine
Brom Blackmane - Fighter - Melee
Ikoma Gohei - Samurai - Melee
Kveltorin Crassus - Barbarian - Melee
Vanyella Andosana - Monk - Melee
Fletcher Woodward - Bard - Ranged
Paavo Lauritz - Alchemist - Ranged (?)
Draniliss Ecthilion - Inquisitor - Ranged (?)
Lawson Gerrard - Rogue - Skills
Liu Na - Ninja - Skills

I wasn't sure if Paavo was intended as a bomber or if Draniliss was intended as a ranged inquisitor, hence the (?). I'm guessing by both of your builds that you are more switch-hitters in fact but happy to be corrected.

History:
Eibon Allister has always had an eye for detail, and with this innate skill he was able to learn the basics
of Alchemy as well as some additional skills. He was always with his studies and in his books. But never
applied them to the real world and because of it he almost met his end at the hands of some neighboring
goblins during a venture into the forest. It was with a stroke of luck that the known Elf Shalelu was nearby
and saved Eibon from a grizzly fate. From that day on Eibon likes to conduct business with Shalelu with the
acquiring of herbs and other plants that she would find out in the forest that he would buy off her, and he
always used this time as an excuse to spend with her and tried to get to know her better.

Silver Crusade

Paavo's straight melee from the Ragechemist archetype. I could switch that up though since it seems like we have a lot of melee offerings already.

Not a problem. Thanks!

Would having a character be a sibling (or half-sibling) of one of the NPCs be an issue?
GM Ictoo wrote:
@AdamWarnock Not really an issue as long as we talk it out first.

I sort of assumed that the campaign trait "Younger Sibling" meant it was okay. I made it part of my backstory already, but I can change it if needed.

@Ikoma Gohei Looking good.

@Fletcher Woodward Thanks alot Fletcher.

@Eibon Allister An investigator, very interesting i have yet to see one played.

@Yui Hirasawa Ok Yui, i've had a look over and i'm happy with you going Wayang - Only thing about the Witch class is i'm going to ban the Slumber hex, i've had a witch in my home game and that hex just gets silly. So stat up with my guidelines for level one and you'll be all submitted.

@Vanyella Andosana Sorry Vanyella, I didnt mean you couldn't what i meant was i'd like to talk to you about it role playing wise. I'd like a little shared background with each other(I'll get some from your backstory but every little helps.)

Taking from the point i just made, this is a very heavy on NPC/player interaction while i really like this and how it can evolve I'd really like to have a base relationship we can work on(Even giving you some more details on your siblings backstory.)

Okay Brom here is ready to go. I have made all the adjustments I think were needed, and have his backstory up. everything is in the profile. let me know if you need anything else Ictoo.

Oh that's fine! I know how evil the slumber hex can be.

II updated her to fit with the creation rules :).

Is her backstory connection with Ameiko ok? She can share it with others who are from Sandpoint during that period.

GM Ictoo:
In the interest of full disclosure, I have the entire Jade Regent AP and I have read it. I'm pretty good about not meta-gaming, so I hope this won't be an issue.

In the first volume of the AP it mentions that if Ameiko died in a previous RotRL game, then you could have her half-sister from Westcrown take her place. I was wanting to play with that a little and have my character be another half-sibling from Magnimar that came up shortly after she learned about her half-sister in Sandpoint during the course of RotRL. She'd be close to the same age as Ameiko, only a few months younger. (Which if I have the timeline straight, puts her at about 22-25 ish.)

If this is cool with you, I'll go ahead and get started on it. If not, well, I'm sure I can come up something else.

Yes, Draniliss will be a switch-hitter with a ranged focus.

Just need to check to make sure the math on the equipment adds up, other than that, Kvell here should be good to go. I look forward to any comments, concerns or questions, Will have the equipement check done shortly.

Background:
Ellowin was born and raised in Sandpoint. She's never even really left the area. Trained to hunt from a young age by her father, who died in a recent rather unfortunate goblin attack on the usually peaceful town, Ellowin makes her money selling meat and fur to buyers and travelers in and around Sandpoint.

Even at a young age, she had noticed Shalelu. The seemingly ageless ranger moved with such grace that Ellowin could never really emulate. She strove in her training to be at one with the forest, to stand silently for hours without moving a muscle, silent as the shadow she knelt within. Over the years, she learned much from Shalelu, who became the older sister she never had. Her techniques for trapping game far outmatched those of other hunters.

But she was tired of rabbits and boars. Shalelu would often spin fantastic tales of goblins, bugbears, even giants. Ellowin would sit at the campfire and listen wide-eyed to such stories, dreaming of herself in the lead role, bow flinging arrows so quick the eye couldn't see. The next morning, though, she'd be up before the sun, checking her traps for rabbit and deer sign, or checking the trails for travel. She felt in a rut.

It was time for a change...

@Brom Blackmane Everything is fine there Brom.

@Yui Hirasawa Thats fine by me, can't wait to see more of it in your backstory.

@AdamWarnock:
As i said before, if you can keep the knowledge you have and your character separate there shouldn't be a problem.

I wrote a lot about your idea and just got off track so i deleted it. I then decided that in theory i'm ok with it, you would take the younger sibling trait? Id also like to see where you go with this in your backstory, i won't hold it against you but i may want you to adjust it slightly. It could be the hook that gets me very interested in your character.

If you would like to talk more/ didn't understand my rambling :) you can always PM me.

@Kvell All seems good to me. I'd just like to know what your plan is for multiclassing (I'd like to try and work it into your roleplaying if you get picked too)

@KBoom Everything Looks good to me KBoom.

GM Ictoo:
I'll have it up later today. Still debating on the class, and yes, I'd be taking the younger sibling trait. I hope you do enjoy it.

Not sure if you read the posts under Yui but a lot of it is in there from the other recruitment thread.

I put some more in her background for your entertainment ;).

For everyones entertainment I put it here as well.

background as Yui would say it:

How Yui would tell her background is using her shadow stencils. With those she creates several shadows on the wall that tell her story.
"10 years ago Amie was very bored and lonely. She didn't have anything fun to do in the dreary town of Sandpoint."
She creates a shadow which look very similar to Ameiko. She is walking around, kicking stones in a town that looks like Sandpoint where tumbleweeds roll through streets.
"Then on one joyous day, a group of traveling Tien merchants arrived in Sandpoint to study western craftsmanships and learn the language and customs to improve their own trade. Among that group was a family of Wayangs, two parents and the most adorably little girl any had ever seen. Me!"
She creates the bored folk of Sandpoint looking on at the horizon where a caravan of Tien merchants arrive in the city bringing much joy to the town. And when she draws her parents and herself there the town is partying even more! There is quite some embellishment of her own persona, as she looks like a little princess.

"I found Amie-chan when she was bored and I brought joy and happiness in her lives. Together we went on many brave adventures fighting dragons, giants and even that nasty old cat Mister Fluffy from oba-chan Niska."
You see Ameiko and Yui hunting lizards, stealing food from markets where adults yell after them and the most fearsome cat you ever saw chasing the trio down the streets.

"But alas, it would not last. After 5 years, my parents and the other Tien merchants missed their own country and wanted to return there. Yui pleaded and begged but they would not allow her to stay with her friends. And so they dragged me back to Tien where I would wait until I was of age before allowed to make my own choices."
Many sunrises pass and you see the merchants packing up. Little Yui is on her knees pleading to her parents, but they will have nothing of it. They dragged her into a wagon and locked it. You see her behind the window screaming and crying at Ameiko while she does the same. As the wagons disappear of the stage the scene zooms in on Yui on one side and Ameiko on the other side. All of them very, very sad. The light darkens and it becomes very dark to indicate the story at an end.

Yui puts down her stencils and the light returns to normal as she says
"That is the story of how we met and lost each other five years ago."

She picks the stencils up again and continues the story "Now as to how I got here. I will show you!"
With the shadows she creates another story of the little princess who finally got old enough to run away from home yelling "I'm going on an adventure!"
She hid aboard a caravan that left Tien for the west, but got found out when she talked with two kids on the caravan and had to earn her keep so to speak. She had to cook and gather food. She even helped with fighting off a big group of bandits (2)! She went through huge cities and because she had no money, had to steal food to keep going. During her travel she made friends with a tiny scorpion which she calls Takei. She puts her hand in one pocket and out comes a tiny scorpion that animatedly clicks and dances in her hands when she presents him. "Takei helped me befriend two little shadow spirits that stuck with me since then." As Yui places the little scorpion on the table, she presents her hands and too little shadowy creatures extend from her shadow and float over her hands. One has one big eye that looks wierdly at everyone. The other has a big grin on his face and snickers a little at everyone. "And that is how I got back here" She says with a big grin on her face.

@GM Ictoo: Sounds awesome, I'll hopefully have everything up either today or within the next couple of days :)
