Description: Dressed in travel-worn leather armor with a dusty black cloak for warmth, Lawson projects an aura of competence. His dark hair is cut short and extremely close with only a small trace of stubble adorning his slightly tanned and weather beaten face. A pair of plain looking short swords hang at his side, giving him a sort rakish of appearance, matched by a sincere smile and warm green eyes.

Personality: Ever personable, Lawson prefers the company of people to being alone and can be found rubbing elbows with everyone: from commoners to soldiers to scholars and he loves to stay abreast of everything going on in the city. His voice is silk smooth carrying a refreshing burst of passion to the weary ears of those around him but it can quickly turn razor sharp on the battlefield as he barks orders or taunts his enemies.

Background:Born in the city of Absalom belonging to a family of merchants, Lawson’s early life was surrounded by arithmetic, ledgers and marketeering. However due to the size of their businesses and holdings, Lawson’s parents were rarely present, preferring to leave the raising of Lawson and his siblings to their retainers. This freedom led to Lawson forming an unlikely friendship with a group of children from the Rastler family, a family carrying a long history of adventuring. It wasn’t long after seeing their lives surrounded by fanciful stories and unique items from all across the world (What sort of child gets a barghest claw to play with?!) to arise no end of jealously in Lawson, wanting something more out of life than being a merchant.

Despite their neglect, Lawson’s parents easily indulged their children’s wants and requests, perhaps out of guilt for being away so often, or simply because they could afford to and it kept the children out of trouble. So when Lawson asked to be signed up at Blackblade’s Fighting Academy all his parents saw was a slightly obese boy asking for another ‘thing’. As the years passed by, Lawson was trained brutally hard by the instructors of the academy, turning his soft body into a muscular yet lithe fortress. Slightly intimidated by the athletic no-nonsense man their son had become, his parents barely raised a single objection when Lawson announced his intention to join the Pathfinder Society as an Initiate.

Where the Blackblade Fighting Academy honed Lawson’s body, the Pathfinder Society honed Lawson’s mind, forcing him to delve into the hated mathematics (or mathemagics as Lawson was apt to call it when faced with a particularly difficult problem) and showing him a world of study. Now, years later, a freshly Confirmed member of the Pathfinder Society Lawson has been living in Magnimar in wait of joining in on a Pathfinder Expedition. While waiting to be assigned to an expedition, Lawson has been training and competing intensely at the Serpent’s Run, however he is beginning to look forward to a greater challenge than the safety that the grand hippodrome provides its contestants.
