Sorry for the delay. Will get a scouting post up for Broderus forthwith!
@ PirateDevon, Foorsooth!
I am in a strange mood because one of those history channel specials on aliens and UFOs was on while I was eating dinner. And I haven't had much sleep the passed few nights.

Treygan Gorski |

I've got a folder full of webcomics I read pretty faithfully. That one is on the list.

Hu5tru |

Quick note, going to be unavailable from Friday till Monday. Destination: No. Cal to spend time with family I have not seen since I was married and I don't have a cellphone that works in this country, much less a smart phone for keeping up with them new fangled dubbya-dubbya-dubbya dots on the interbutts.

Treygan Gorski |

Methinks I had a misunderstanding. Thought me and Valcrim were taking the rear as the less stealthy of the group. Fine with it, though. Oh, and ouch!

Hu5tru |

Ah, i thought that Valcrim was the go to lead dude since he isn't ever going to be encumbered by his armor. but, regardless of where you were, unless you said "I'm ducking behind the palisades for cover as I'm moving" for the concealment/soft cover, you unfortunately were going to get hit.
But, you should be thankful that goblins are mostly inept and the sentries have decided to show their location, and for certain members of the party, their intentions. :P

Treygan Gorski |

Sorry on brevity of post, away from computer at present.

Yamamoto Seiji |

Seiji isn't hateful, or even ruthless, but the goblin did not drop its weapon after Joyabraund's overture. Seiji is pretty certain the door is about to open, and so he took the opportunity to eliminate one more foe.
I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, but I think that is how my character would act given the circumstances.

Valcrim Flinthammer |

It's a goblin. Not like he dropped a kid that had stolen a loaf of bread and refused to surrender it. Killing evil and corrupt things is part of being good. Those without the steel in their blood to end evil, helps it flourish by doing nothing.
That is the way Valcrim sees it, as per Torag's dogma.

Yamamoto Seiji |

I think Seiji and Valcrim see eye-to-eye on this one, though perhaps their reasoning differs slightly.
For Seiji, it mostly boils down to the fact that the group was tasked with wiping out the goblins and then traveled to the swamp with the expressed intention of doing so. He did struggle with that decision, but now that it has been made, he is fully committed to it.
Invading the home of Walthus Proudstump gave him pause because it was unexpected. Maybe I'm playing Lawful Neutral too literally, but as a character, Seiji is very much governed by "What we've been told to do."
In any case, I'm not trying to launch a philosophical debate. A little roleplaying tension is always good. I honestly felt a little funny having Seiji take that action, so perhaps I'm just justifying it "out loud."

Valcrim Flinthammer |

I guess it is easier to be a cleric in some ways, as your perceptions in life is required to follow certain guidelines. As LG deities go, Torag is rather unforgiving. His first and foremost concern is the protection of those who cannot protect themselves. And for that to be achieved, contemplating what is right and wrong when it comes to dealing with murderous monsters is right out the window.
Your duty as a cleric of Torag is to ensure that those who place their trust in you will not be harmed. Killing evil is a given, and when the dwarven ancestral enemies are involved, I do not think Valcrim would even think twice about killing them even without a personal slight. After all, dwarves hate them so much they gets a mechanical bonus to hit them. In my mind, that pretty much equates to "Kill on sight."
Won't be nearly as driven to kill a human that has obvious potential for reform, of course. Nor will he insist killing a wild animal that can be scared off, and does not pose a threat to the community.

Joyabraund Northropple |

Joybraund's people have seen too much of people's darker natures and I think that is so engrained in the halfling experience that my perception of it was more a concern of the fast flying bolt than the killing of the goblin. I perceive Joyabraund's NG as "I will do the best I can but I'm no preacher". He might ask or talk about it later but he isn't too judgemental...and it is...after all...a goblin.

Valcrim Flinthammer |

To clear up any potential confusion on Valcrim's spellcasting: When he uses his hammer, which has a weapon cord attached to it, he spends a free and a swift action to drop and recover it. Just posting it here, rather than in every spellcasting post from here on out.
Good use of the grease spell, Joya ;)

Not dying. Chronic pain and lack of sleep on my part scatters my brains for running combats.
Thankfully between all you powerhouses and this by the book encounter it should be over soon and you can investigate stuff and give me more things to do than move chits about on a map and mime battle tactics.

Broderus |

Hu5tru,
I think I got a little confused during combat. I thought I had a surprise round to sneak up on the goblin and then do my full attack during round one. I see you posted my attacks during round 2. If it took me both rounds to reach the goblin, that's fine. I'll just post my next attack in round 3 if we're still engaged in combat. :)

Hu5tru |

Okay... after a week of pain on the 6-8 scale and 2-3 hours of sleep each day (spaced out over passing out at my desk occasionally every few hours) I finally have the chronic pain under control, and some stuff to help me sleep nights. Hurray!
I will look at where we were and where we need to be to get this game going again.
So be thinking about what your intrepid heroes of Sandpoint want to do when you get back to the city after utterly crushing these vile little beasties and I'll be thinking about how its really going to affect the future of the town, which is my favorite part of GMing and get myself back in this game, making it all real for you guys!
*Listens to Uchuu Senkan Yamato for inspiration*
Yosh!!

Broderus |

Hey Guys and Gal,
The amount of posting in our game has really slowed to a crawl. Are we reaching the end of this gallant campaign or is there still another resurrection scroll up our sleeves?
I'm still up for continuing. This has been my first PBP campaign, and I've had a blast, especially in the beginning when the posts were flying off the pages and the role playing was through the roof! If we are reaching the end, it's been a great experience, and I thank all of you for providing me with hours of memorable gaming. :)

Hu5tru |

Yeah, getting to it this very as we speak end, hopefully. I can actually see my feet again today, so my recovery is nigh complete!
Just gotta prod some folk in the behind, and if it means that I post every day just to say "hey, your action doesn't do much, sorry," i suppose that's what I will do.
Because I am excited about running this with fun NPCs. PD should know I put a lot of effort into my NPCs, and making the world about seem... real, at least I hope to.
So... yeah. Probably get started prepping some stuff for when you guys kill the remaining small fry and descend upon Gutwad as a group. And some other stuff that i've thrown out and need to justify.
Coz really, no goblin young in their compound? they live like 2 weeks at most, there should be some eggs somewhere... sheesh.

Treygan Gorski |

Next level for LoH, then won't be so dependant on you Valcrim. I expect you want to get in there too.

Valcrim Flinthammer |

LoH is the bomb. My paladin in Serpent Skull relied heavily on it.
Until level 3, I have no problems being secondary in terms of melee combat. That is when I get Power Attack myself, and can cast Bull Strength to start dishing out some real damage. The dice has not been nice to my hammer. Could almost just as well been a 2E warhammer for 1d4+1 :P

Hu5tru |

well, i had not thought of a dragon eating the halfling, but i admit that that would be suspenseful.
No perception checks against said large monster, either, as though you even had a chance to make the DC against a dragon with greater invisibility... but, if that was the case... hmm...
*goes to read up on dragons for next encounter*
A cat appears in front of you, it meows and suddenly entangle!

Treygan Gorski |

Apprently what Treygan does next is miss. Doh!
