Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

"Thanks, Elvar."

Knotting the rope around her waist, she flexes her sword arm a few times.

"Ready to go?" And, without waiting for an aswer, she dives back in, looking for the wounded elemental.

@Elvar: Seems reasonable, let's say a +4 bonus

So just so I'm clear, Talia, Parnel and Hector and going back in?

Male Elf Occultist(Battle Host) 1 (HP 8/8) (AC 19/16/13) (CMD 17) (Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +2) (Init +8) (Perception +6)

Sounds fine to me - Harold is happy to be on rope duty for this one ;-)

HP 19/19, AC 15/12/13, CMD 15, F; +2, R; +5, W +3

@Fanguar; Yep, that's right. Talia and Parnel will have ropes around their waists.

HP 22, AC 12/12/10, CMD 13/15, F;+3, R; +3, W; +5

Pacing nervously by the edge of the water, Istvan watches his companions dive in one at a time.

Sounds right to me.

Male Human, AC17/12/15; HP 24; F+4, R+2, W+7; CMD 13, CMB +1 Druid 3 (Dragon Shaman)

Parnel enters the water Hector at his side, and shortspear in hand.

Back into the depths:

There is no sign of the elemental. There is an open archway to your left and right and a closed door to the front
I've updated the map, so you can see:

CURRENT MAP

Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

underwater:
Talia gestures towards the left side alcove and starts swimming towards it. While doing that, she keeps looking all around in case the elemental is behind one of the pillars.

Talia's rope is tugged once.

HP 19/19, AC 15/12/13, CMD 15, F; +2, R; +5, W +3

Elvar gives a small start at the tug but calms down when the tug isn't followed by another.

Male Human, AC17/12/15; HP 24; F+4, R+2, W+7; CMD 13, CMB +1 Druid 3 (Dragon Shaman)

Parnell follows Talia's example. He then searches the bottom to see if there are any signs of disturbance on the floor of the chamber. If not he will lead the way to the right opening.

Underwater:

Peering into a small room. You see the water elemental spinning in an angry vortex. Below it, caught in the swirling water is the rotted remains of a long dead man.

Talia tugs on the rope once and signals the elemental to Parnel, swimming towards it to attack it.

HP 19/19, AC 15/12/13, CMD 15, F; +2, R; +5, W +3

Elvar starts again at the tug and grins sheepishly at Harold and Istvan. "Heh! This tries the nerves, huh, guys?" and wipes sweat of his brow.

Male Human, AC17/12/15; HP 24; F+4, R+2, W+7; CMD 13, CMB +1 Druid 3 (Dragon Shaman)

Parnell now seeing the enemy rushes forward stabbing with his spear.

Man...I hope to hit double figures on a die roll soon!

Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

Talia's rope is tugged once.

Underwater:
Once in position, Talia attemps to strike the elemental

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23, Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

This is a critical threat but if I'm right, elementals are immune to critical and flanking.
The elemental is down to 1 HP

Underwater:

Yup, no crits or flanking
Parnel and Talia strike true, nearly doing in the creature.

In its pain and rage, it lashes out with its remaining strength,

Parnel,GM Fangar:
With mage armor active, Hector AC is 19 so the critical threat is not damage is only confirmed and the damage is only 5

Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

Talia rope seems to move about before a single tug is felt.

Underwater:
As it is distracted by Hector and Parnel, Talia tries to finish the creature with a thrust to the center on the vortex attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19, damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Underwater:

@Talia: Good catch, I forgot about the mage armour.

Talia ends the threat with a thrust of her sword.

Searching the room you find the gnawed remains of a long dead corpse, its bones cracked and split. Nearby, you find the missing red lantern. Amoung the scraps of the corpse's leather armour, you find the familiar star insignia, common to all the dead in this area. Nearby the glint of a short sword's shining steel pokes out of a ruined scabbard.

Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

underwater:
Talia sheaths her own sword and dives for the lantern and sword. Signing to Parnel, she starts to swim back to the entrance to catch her breath.

Talia's rope is pulled once then goes slack.

HP 19/19, AC 15/12/13, CMD 15, F; +2, R; +5, W +3

Feeling the rope go slack Elvar's heart skips a beat and starts pulling on it frantically muttering curses under his breath.

Talia and Parnel return to the surface without incident, carrying their treasure.

HP 22, AC 12/12/10, CMD 13/15, F;+3, R; +3, W; +5

Istvan is seeing the next piece of this puzzle. Come, let us rest and recover from this overly wet excursion. Istvan thinks we should be well prepared befire unsealing the next area.

While talking Istvan will cast detect magic.

Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

Talia comes out of the water, half-dragged by Elvar.

"Hey, I was swimming back, you did not need to haul me back like that!!!!"

Taking a few deep breath, she sits on the stairs and relates their expedition. "It's a shower room with three openings. We've been into one whe the elemental was trying to hide and thants to Parnel and Hector, killed it. There was in this small room an body with the swod and red lantern and with a star pendant like the other ones we found."

She hands the sword and lantern to Istvan for inspection. Then she frowns, recalling something.

"We need to go back and explore the second side opening and the passage behind the stone doors. But I'm worried about something. The body down there was all gnawed with broken and split bones. I haven't seen a mouth on the elemental. Do you think something else could have caused that?"

Male Human, AC17/12/15; HP 24; F+4, R+2, W+7; CMD 13, CMB +1 Druid 3 (Dragon Shaman)

Parnell approaches Hector and notices his limp now that he is on dry land. "Are you going to be OK buddy". "That thing gave you a nasty twist...but you gave better than you got". Parnell then gives the lizard a hunk of smelly meat for his work.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 To inspect, and comfort Hector's wound.

** spoiler omitted **

Sorry that was a Heal check

Parnel pauses in putting back on his armor, at Talia's words. "Hmmm". "I hadn't thought of that". "Tie the rope back on". "I'm going back and bring a few of those bones back to inspect more closely".

Female Human Ranger 3 (HP 28/28, AC 17/14/13, F+5 R+7 W+3, CMD 19)

I'm coming with you. In the mean time, can you look at the sword, Istvan and Elvar?"

Male Elf Occultist(Battle Host) 1 (HP 8/8) (AC 19/16/13) (CMD 17) (Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +2) (Init +8) (Perception +6)

"Well, be careful - we don't want you ending up as lunch for some aquatic beast!"

I assume you will be using the ropes again?

Istvan is knowing the sword has magic, but not what the enchantment does.

HP 19/19, AC 15/12/13, CMD 15, F; +2, R; +5, W +3

"Here. Lemmetakealook.." Elvar takes the sword of Istvans hands and inspects it, casting detect magic.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

"Nope. Got nothing." he shrugs, handing the sword back.

"Ah, sorry, Talia, I forgot what to do if the rope went slack. Got worried there. No harm done, eh?"

Added the short sword to the loot sheet.

You can try to identify again tomorrow.

Talia and Parnel are going back in alone again?

Yes. Parnel wants to have a look at the gnawed bones and we need to look at the stone door then the second side entrance.

Talia and Parnel swim back to the elemental room.

Seeing Elvar frantically pulling Talia's line in, Istvan prepares himself to attack anything that may be following her.

If anything inappropriate comes out of the water, I will use an acid cloud on it.

Another elemental? Istvan was joking about fishing.

Talia scores a vicious blow to the undead monstrosity, but it fails to fall. At her tug on the rope, those topside scramble to reel in her line. She's pulled past the monster and it lashes out as she slides by:
