It wasn't bad. I just really want this to work.
Ederion has mentioned someone bringing everyone together as a team. I'd like to see you guys try to invest yourselves in each others characters. Try to help each other out, and build proper friendships if you can. Our new player(s) won't be able to bring people together without everyone pitching in here and there.
----------
I've added an Allies of the Silver Ravens tab. It isn't even close to complete. Aster, I remember you offered to use your Paizo-fu to find old descriptions of the NPCs. I'd like to take you up on that offer if you're still inclined. Feel free to edit the document as you need.
Aster Cobblestone
oh no, not meant as a criticism. You know my feelings on player/character loss, I've babbled on enough in it in other games with you. The long and short of it is that it is disruptive massively to any game. To the GM you have this complete narrative that is not shared by players cause we were not there. And for players, they lose that connection they had between them because people are no longer around.
All it in all it sucks. It can't be helped though. Real-life kicks in and boom. Rexi, don't take my babbling as a comment against you potentially wanting to change characters. Being unhappy with your character in a game that still has years of life in it is not a good thing. Character loss is way better than player loss because you know what is going on and how to fit another person in.
BTW if it hasn't apparent, Aster's whole purpose in being in the rebellion is to make the city a better place for Becca. She is invested in it, just trying to balance it with being a parent.
Aster Cobblestone
Treasure, do you have a list of NPC names? Otherwise I'll start at an end and move down/up.
DM Hell's Fox
What I'm trying to say, Aster, is working as a team requires the investment in other PCs. You have to be willing to help Ederion, Bazzle, and Rexandi in their goals, and them in your's. I'd like to see others ask questions about Becca and try to help you out.
-------------------------------------
I've added a Roster link for all relevant NPC allies who have roles in the Silver Ravens.
------------------------------------
Feel free to start at an end and work your way through, Aster. I have no preference.
Aster Cobblestone
She can bring Becca for coffee and hot chocolate one day. :)
Okay, does anyone want anything removed from the sell list before we cash out so people can start planning?
Also, Treasure, do we divide by 4 or 5?
DM Hell's Fox
I've decided you divide by 4. I gave the newcomer full lvl cash. Consider it a generous gift to be taken back in taxes and renovation costs.
DM Hell's Fox
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Fun fact. Nisha uses Illusion of Calm not for the combat effect, but just to look calm when she has to be social.
Also note that these are infusions, not extracts. This means you can use them, and they use her full caster level.
DM Hell's Fox
If you need an NPC agent. Werwcapybara Phillip will be happy to bite off toes for some corn and bark. :)
I understand, Phillip. We'll consider you as fairly as possible during recruitment. Your reputation and regular posting in RotRL will not go unnoticed. If you do get picked, we can go over ways to enact the werecapybara-ness, if that's something you want to pursue.
DM Hell's Fox
Ederion, you may want to befriend Nisha and exchange alchemical notes, similar to wizard spellbooks.
DM Hell's Fox
Here again is the recruitment thread that I launched earlier this week. I've closed it, and am getting ready to read through everything and pick 1-2 people. I don't expect each of you to comb through everything, but I would appreciate it. I'd really like your input, since you're a vital part of this game. Ideally, I'd like your top 3 favourites, and a reasoning as to why. Thanks, and no worries if you can't.
Aster Cobblestone
I will work on this tonight sir.

That was just a , from my point of view , injoke about the ferocious were capybara of Kintargo. I gracefully allow others to join.
DM Hell's Fox
Thanks Phillip. I sure hope you got yourself a remove curse spell quickly. The life of an afflicted werecapybara is harsh and fraught with danger. Haha
DM Hell's Fox
Keep. I'm searching mainly for a fighter replacement, not a witch replacement. If Rexandi goes, we'll lose an important healing slot.
DM Hell's Fox
I've already started the new day. We're in a meeting at the moment. I've given a little opportunity for someone in the party to talk, but otherwise I'll move to the next part of the meeting.
Rexandi Vatia
One other thing for the party: I'm trying to find a "buddy" for Rexandi, that she can talk to about stuff, and that was originally gonna be Tasha. Stupid RP side-scenes like how to do make-up and whether to get a tattoo. Y'know, the kind of silly stuff that she does to take her mind off of being in the middle of a dangerous rebellion. I don't know if anyone has a good personality fit for that, so it might have to be an NPC. :/
Aster Cobblestone
What!? You don't want to talk tattoos with a middle-aged semi portly mom substitute with baked good obsessions???... oh... yeah I can understand that :)
Rexandi Vatia
I like Aster plenty as a character but she is... not quite the right fit for Rexandi for that.
The reason I bring it up is because in-character, Rexandi isn't sure whether to use the dragon skin or not. It would allow her to expand her spell repertoire considerably - but it would also, in her eyes, be a major change to her body, and potentially pretty disrespectful to dragons in general. So she's skittish about it and wants to talk that through with someone.
Aster Cobblestone
I do truly understand. Any options you've found in the pool of potentials to be your confidant? If not, Nisha seems like she could be a fit.
Aster Cobblestone
Ugh... I have finished my pbp homework and sent off my thoughts to our all powerful Treasure. Now, I need to kill things before bed.
Aster Cobblestone
Double Ugh... one more thing
Ed! Did you decide on keeping anything from the loot list?
Ederion
Hey Aster, here is the stuff I think we should keep from the Loot List:
- 3 doses of Myrrh
- 10 doses of Urea
- 1 deodorizing agent
- 3 vials of reanimation fluid
- 2 thunderstones
- Adamantine light pick (this one maybe not because it is worth a LOT of money, but adamantine weapons are amazing to break down doors, walls, any barriers really).
- 3 vials of silversheen
- Scroll of Raise Dead (waterdamaged, 25% chance of wild-magic)
- Bottle containing 250gp of diamond dust
- Two bottles of air
- Rope of Climbing
- 1 Antitoxin (made by Nisha)
- 2 potions (Cat's Grace, and Expeditious Retreat)
- A set of loaded metal dice
- Tumour-filled Bladder (nastier version of Pox Burster. It is called Skin Wastes [Afflictions, Diseases, Horrifying Diseases])
- 4 doses of Brain Mold Spores
- 10 nuggets of raw Cold Iron
- 3 nuggets of Magnesium (keep underwater, or out of air)
- 500 gp worth of diamond dust
I do not think Ederion can actually use the skin himself. Or it would not bring him much benefit, so that is a pass for me.
Obviously I would like to keep the Handy Specimen Bottle :D
Looking at the Recruitment thread now.
Ederion
I've already started the new day. We're in a meeting at the moment. I've given a little opportunity for someone in the party to talk, but otherwise I'll move to the next part of the meeting.
I have some stuff for the previous evening, I will retcon when I can. Actually I have quite some stuff, but some of it is OOC - I think I will post it one at a time?
Apologies for not posting before - I have been having really bad working weeks.
Aster Cobblestone
Yep, didn't price out things I knew people were keeping.
Let's see... most of that is little here and there, not worth much, the expensive items are...
1502 - Adamantine light pick
3062.5 - Scroll of Raise Dead (waterdamaged, 25% chance of wild-magic)
7250 Two bottles of air
1250 Rope of Climbing
Those are the sale prices. The bottles of air were a lot more
expensive then I had imagined. So about 13000 altogether, 3250 each. Dropping us from about 16000 each to about 12500 each.
Is everyone okay with that?
Also, Aster threw in her seafoam shawl since we shouldn't in underwater all the time. Is there any other mostly water-related gear anyone wants to put in the bin? Or do selling those items count just toward the individual player?
Ederion
Ooooph! Are Bottles of Air THAT expensive?!On afterthought maybe we can sell them , we will surely need the money. Same thing about the Raise Dead Scroll to be honest.
Keep only the pick and rope?
I don't have any water-related gear, but if I did I would not sell it - we have been underwater a LOT (so maybe keep one bottle after all?):P
DM Hell's Fox
I'll be upfront with you here. Unless you plan to use sewers and the river often, we won't be doing water stuff from here on out.
Recruitment is almost done. I've narrowed it down considerably. If anyone wants to contribute any more opinions, that would be appreciated. Otherwise no worries. You guys have already worked tons.
Rexandi Vatia
I just got my internet restored. I probably won't be able to go over recruitment though, because I have a critical/immediate response issue for my day job, and tonight my wife is returning home from her trip to see family and her birthday happened while she was away so I'll be celebrating that with her and won't be online.
DM Hell's Fox
No worries, Rexandi. I hope everything happening in your life right now goes as smoothly as possible.
Aster Cobblestone
Okay, will edit the loot list to keep everything from Ed's list other than the bottles of air (based on Treasure's comment) and the scroll.
Puts us at
60906.13 = 15226.53 each.
Aster Cobblestone
On a side note...
https://paizo.com/campaigns/HellsRebelsAdventurePath/gameplay&page=93#4 648
From when Rexandi and Aster went real estate hunting.
Aster Cobblestone
I go on vacation tomorrow, I believe I should be able to keep up with posting but I'll be down to a single computer between a family of computer nerds, so... who knows. bot Aster as much as you desire.
Abbo Lyrio
Hi team! Thanks for choosing me. It’s a pleasure to be here with you guys, helping the rebellion :) and thank you, GM.
Abbo is a hinyasi brawler - someone more used to improvised weapons than real ones. He also has the snakebite striker archetype, so you can imagine him as one of these “roguish vagabond” types, with a good heart trying to redeem himself from a life of petty crimes (not something very healthy on these lawful lands, right?).
Anyway - I believe I have some adjusts/preparations to make, to fit the story point and maybe better tie with what the team needs. Please feel free to take a look at his profile and let me know any doubts or concerns. I’m particularly considering switching my power attack with improved feint, but other than that I think he’s pretty much complete.
Feedback is welcome. He’s mostly a melee damage dealer.
Thanks again!
Aster Cobblestone
I really enjoyed your story, Old Man Tuck got me, he did. Melee damage dealer is Greatly appreciated. and WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aster Cobblestone
:) TWO stonemasons... kind of makes me worried what Treasure is going to put us through. A second <but less loud since it is late> Welcome, sir.
Ederion
Welcome aboard guys - good to have you with us!
---
On the loot front, and I know it is expensive, but we should perhaps think about buying some consumables with those main buffs/debuffs we are recurrently missing? Stuff that comes to mind:
- Ray of enfeeblement
- Ray of Exhaustion
- Fear
- Sound Burst
- Haste
- Burst of Radiance
- Silence
- Enlarge Person
- Grease
- Heroism
- Invisibility
- Magic Weapon
- Create Pit
I know stuff like this is usually not considered optimal to invest with (not all of them are as useful), but some of these can make total difference for harder encounters.
Also, we should look into condition removal scrolls/wands - I don't think we have a means to remove any of them?
What do you all think?
Aster Cobblestone
Next level I'm going to have Aster concentrate her spells into condition removal, at least lesser restoration. She does have a wand of remove fear.
We could sell the wand of water breathing which would bring in another ~5000, use that bit to buy some consumables, leaving the amount mentioned before for personal use.
