Emrael Bladewalker |
"Some legends of the Namazu say that the gods can force it to excrete money as payment for the damage it causes with its earthquake, but I've never heard of that happening." She points at the quasi-people that the thing vomited up.
Beldan Vale |
Beldan heads towards the village, but he gives the lake, the big fish and its strange issue a wide berth. “Following typical patterns we’ll end up fighting some or all of those things,” he says, “but we might as well wait to see if they start trying to hurt people first. Maybe it’s just a big fish having a real bad day.”
Altai Iscarni |
"Things really are different on this side of the world, aren't they? Let's see how that fish deals with being dropped from about a mile up." Altai begins to cast a spell...
I'm burning Plane shift to cast Summon monster VII. Two celestial mega-dragonflies arrive on my initiative next turn.
dungeonmaster heathy |
right on.
You guys start in the yellow squares p-r 96 or so; make a full round's worth of stuff and call positions if you haven't done so; also somebody can do Elgan's pre combat turn if they like, unless he shows up.
initiative for the catfish and friends:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe |
Pip starts to play Lucille in quick 2/2 tempo mode
"Fish in the mud
Coughing up crud
Think you're a dud
Soon be drinkin' your blooood."
Casting >Haste< on the party, then starting up the +3 song bonuses and getting sword readied to take over next round for the archery
The newcomers notice that Pip has let go of his odd crystal sword, but it hangs in the air as if still held. The blade seems to be echoing the chords of Pip's guitar, warbling out a counterpoint to his fast-paced tune.
everyone remember +3 atk/dam/vs charm/vs. fear
If I figure it correctly I can move to about P-90 down the road? If so, then I'll do that, if not, then as close as I can get to get a better shot
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe |
Right on; does Pip want to move up?
I will, as long as I am not hanging my oh-so-tender ass out in the wind. I will stay in the group, hoping that they are moving up as well. If not, well then is there any cover for an arrow sniper to utilize? =D
Emrael Bladewalker |
As she keeps pace with Beldan, Emrael asks, "I do not often fought as part of a team. How can I fit into your strategy?"
Note: To the eye, she is unarmored, has the katana in hand, and has a quiver but no bow on her back.

row 85 and below is wooded; he could get to the edge of the woods there and fire from the side of the river.....
It's not really ideal fortification, but it's better than an "empty plain."Beldan Vale |
Beldan glances at Emreal’s blade. “Nice sword,” he says. “Looks sharp ... are you any good with it? Well, if so, our friend Stig used to generally just run towards anything that looked dangerous and hit it, I’d usually try to run around behind it and hamstring it.”
Beldan scoots forward to R84. If there’s anywhere to hide on the bridge (if its a covered bridge or has chunky posts or rails or whatever), he’ll try to hide using fast stealth: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (11) + 36 = 47
Emrael Bladewalker |
She nods, "It is very sharp. My teacher said I had some talent, but how good one is is matter of opinion and circumstance. I'll let you decide."
She will confidently stride forward, then, katana in hand, expecting Beldan to do what he needs to do to get into position and hoping to draw attention from him.
With Haste in effect, she can comfortably reach Q81, I believe.
Elgan Dreadwood |
Sorry guys and gals. Busy. The usual. + 2. ;P
Elgan makes a lot of 'Hm' noises as he checks the strange fruit growing from trees they have no business being in. When it turns out to be all good, he shrugs and eats some.
"Jes Cuz it ain't nurmul don' mean it ain't guud." He says sagely.
When they get to the big-@$$ catfish, He looks disconcerted.
"Yeuh, Ah've seen big fish befur. But dat es' ain't riight!" He declares, casing a spell.
BArkskin my self up for teh fracas! :)
Altai Iscarni |
"Heads down, folks", Altai says conversationally. Five seconds later, a pair of dragonflies the size of articulated buses blast past at 15' altitude.
Two rocs haul ass in from the southern edge of the map. With a charge (including Flyby Attack) Buzz1 ends up in EFGH 61-64 and Buzz2 in RSTU 61-64. Along the way, Buzz1 makes a grab for Slimy and Buzz2 for the big fish.
So:
Buzz1: Attack roll 13+20+2(charge)=AC 35, damage 2d6+11=17, grapple check 12+31=43. Do you get a grapple bonus for charging? I kinda doubt it... If that beats Slimy's CMD, he's held tight and the big bird will start climbing next turn in preparation for dropping him from a few hundred feet up.
Buzz2: Attack roll 11+20+2(charge)=AC 33, damage 2d6+11=16, grapple check 13+31=44. Same drill with him.
dungeonmaster heathy |
I gotta look at stuff's for a minute;
slimy, for all intents and purposes, is a "blob of black water," and as such he can't really grab slimy and carry him off.
does he want to target either of the other two i.e. the scum noid or the mud noid?
welcome to the Herculoids........again....;)
dungeonmaster heathy |
I got them in ghij 62-65; correct position if you want.
I have to look up combatty/grapply stuff; and also everybody is screaming about crap in the house because they're all going out to the mall or something and getting dressed is such a f&$~ing travesty, so I have to figure out what that's all about and help them with their problems, so I'll be back in maybe a half hour or an hour.

The fish is grappled;
I have it dangling from the roc's talons in EFG 62-64.Scum boy is as well; he dangled from roc 2's talons at IJ 64-65; also, if you want the rocs to be spread out more please say so; I guess one is a little higher than the other with the current coordinates; yay 3 dimensional combat!!! ;)
