Anastasia gracefully leaps the river, but her spell fails to stun the minotaur. The bottom of Jack's bow gets caught in some underbrush, and both his arrows soar over the enemy, but Gardol manages a solid hit. Eurkar follows Anastasia across the water, but pulls up short in a defensive crouch.

Enraged at the elf's magic, the minotaur switches his attacks to her--and with brutal effect. Janira tries to disarm the minotaur again, but ends up dropping her own whip.

Everybody is up.

The fight seems to slow to a crawl as the beast rips into Anastasia. Jak’s song rises to a fevered, shouted pitch as he steps into the creature’s range. He had to present another threat, but he also had to … ya know … not die.

He hacks at the minotaur’s body in a massive two-handed strike, then slings his shield into place at the last moment.

Jak leaves the blade buried in the dying monster as he drops to his knees beside Anastasia. He draws on his gift, chanting healing words into her bleeding body.

Anastasia opens her eyes, then quickly jumps up.

"Danger! Where?" she shouts, and looks around, stressed. Then see sees the downed minotaur, and calms down. She runs to Janira and grabs her hand.

"Janira, must come, Aroden, city, couldn't recognize all, must continue! Help!" she tries to motivate the halfling, gently tugging her to the cave.

    Jak is a consumate drifter and adventurer. He's charming, friendly, and adventurous. Unfortunately, he also tends to have a penchant for recklessness.

    For combat strategy, it depends a lot on his teammates. Given that we have Eurkar as a heavier-hitter, Jak will likely try to keep his shield on-hand and act as the "tank" as needed. He'll tend to try to work with his teammates when possible (flanking, etc). He also has Inspire Courage and a few castings of Alter Self to help bring some additional oomph to a fight, if necessary.

    Gardol is introspective and likes to think things through. He's easy-going with friends and companions, especially once he gets to know them, but he know his limitations...not being charismatic, he tends to be more practical than charming with his words...

    Gardol can provide ranged support with his longbow in combat, but can also use his longsword in melee in a pinch...he is also willing to scout as needed...

    Having completed his training, Eurkar's master sent him out in the world to explore and come back in 10 years time to report what he has learned. If he happens to come across another monk in his travels, he is not to kill them (use non-lethal) unless they are trying to kill Eurkar.
    Other than that, he has three daily tasks: Aid someone in need, Study a plant to understand its medicinal properties and Do something unusual, like try a food he had not eaten before.

    Eurkar has a quarterstaff in his hand and a light crossbow on his back. When fighting foes that he wants to capture, he uses a special technique that his master had shown him (Stunning fist) but normally does not use it.

    Anastasia is a researcher, first and foremost. She is most interested in arcane knowledge, but will happily learn about anything. Her mind is quick, but her mouth cannot usually keep up and she tends to just skip words or even entire sentences, which makes it pretty hard to understand her. She isn’t interested in interactions if they aren’t about exchanging knowledge. She honest and open about her own thoughts, even when they should be kept back. She is not quiet or reclusive, she genuinely believes everyone shares her interests. She is not mean, but thinking about research first and people second makes her seem cold.

    In battle, she tries to use her more powerful spells to turn the odds to her favor, and outside of that uses her ranged attacks with cantrips and school powers. Her rapier and longbow are more for show, mainly used for threatening as she cannot do much damage with them. She doesn’t have any qualms about using them, and as her minor spells have short range she will switch to her longbow on longer ranges, but she does know her limited strength.

    I had forgotten to add stats for my familiar to my page. It wasn't going to do anything except keep me more alive with +3 HP, but it can be killed. Now everything should be there.

    There were a lot of people, so probably tons of stuff. Personally, I played a bunch of Terra Mystica and Taluva, some Mystic Vale and Castles of Burgundy. I know there was a large game of some social deduction-Werewolf type game, but I stay away from those.

    Alright, posting rate update.

    This weekend is Memorial Day weekend in the States, so my posting may be spotty to non-existent (family in town). Next week will be mostly normal, but then me and my little family are heading to Colorado for a long weekend next Friday (so I'll be out from between 6/2 until 6/6). I may have some ability post that weekend, but again—no guarantees.
