DM Stylz |

The dragon hisses at Xipe and in draconic, My DOMAIN. Leave NOW!!
The dragon raises its head and lunges to bite at Vladimir again. Before anyone has time to react, Even rushes past and takes the dragon's head from its body. All that remains is the stump of a neck and a copious amount of blood.
COMBAT OVER
The group, led by a very angry Even fell their first dragon...the legends you all heard as children are true...dragons do exist.
making camp out in the open or in the dragon cave?

Xipe |

I think the cave is safer and might be a good temporary base of operations.
"I think the cave is safer."
Xipe starts to skin the dragon, peeling off its hide. Dragon leathers are much sought after!
Teeth and claws become a necklace. Skull becomes a helmet.
"Lets checks for a dragon hoard."

DM Stylz |

Yurian, clambers to the top of the ridge where the dragon was spotted, and lets down a coil of rope to aid in the others getting to the ledge.
Once all are gathered on the ledge, you all see a cave entrance. It starts out a mere 5' wide, but quickly grows to accommodate the 4 of you. It is a tight fit, but it is better than being out in the harsh cold. Near the back of the cavern, is a small dragon hoard. In the hoard you find:
A variety of gems (850gp total)
MWK light crossbow
MWK scythe
chisel
hammer
bag of iron nails (10 count)
2 boxes of arrowheads (40 count)
bottle of cheap whiskey
bottle of cheap wine
bag of tobacco (6 cigarettes worth)

Even Fell |

Even carefully cleans the edge of his Halberd off, and slowly follows Yurian up the cliff to the ledge.
"Well, I'm not sure how useful some of this is, but that hammer, Chisel and nails might be mighty useful if we have any chance of rafting out. I suppose worst case, some of the other things can be used as trade goods... if we ever find someone willing to trade..."
Even will use lay on hands before bed, no point in letting that tiny bit go to waste. Going to roll it now, but NOT make the adjustment. No telling what else will happen. Who wants to carry what?
1d6 ⇒ 5

Xipe |

"This will be quite useful. We should carry gems in case we ever have a chance to trade. Tools are good to use. Lets drink wine and whiskey now!" Xipe chuckles. "I can take arrowheads and make new arrows for all of us."
I would like to start doing craft checks during our downtime in the evenings. I have to check the rules for crafting. Are you ok with the new Unchained craft rules?
"We can perhaps leave some items here for the future, if we wish to return, this may be a safe place to store the masterwork weapons. "

Xipe |

That's pretty much it. Progress is based more on complexity rather than gold value, which doesn't always equate well. A solid gold spoon shouldn't take any more time to make than one made from copper. In the old system, not so, in the new system its the same time.

Xipe |

Craft Roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
As many as I can. All of them it possible. I have been gathering sticks all along and we killed a lot of birds so I should have enough feathers for fletching.
I am all for going through the mountain pass.
Xipe also keeps her Pilo eggs warm or whatever it is she thinks she needs to keep them healthy.
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

DM Stylz |

Xipe figures that like most eggs, keeping the Pilo eggs warm cannot hurt their chances of survival. She then begins making more ammunition for her bow. She craft throughout the evening, and is able to turn 10 of the 40 arrowheads into working arrows, along with creating some beautiful fletching from a the local bird feather she gathered.
The next morning everyone get ready to depart, re-dons their armor, and packs up their supplies.
You look at the mountain path, and you all make your way back down the ledge, and proceed with the path you were on. Fog starts to creep over the pass, hampering vision, and you think that midday has come and gone, but it is hard to be certain.
Nightfall comes, and there appears to be no ledge, no cave or means to escape the nightfall weather.
The weather gets bitterly cold, over the night. The good news, nothing some to try and rip you from limb to limb. The bad news, the cold weather wrecks havoc on your body.
Everyone please make 4 Fort saves. Xipe, you can Gain a +2 bonus on all Fortitude saves against severe weather while moving up to half your overland speed, or gain a +4 bonus if you remain stationary. You may grant the same bonus to one other character for every 1 point by which your Survival check result exceeds 15.
I hope that makes sense, if not let me know and I will try to clarify

Xipe |

Fortitude Save - Stationary: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Even spends a slightly restless night, but knows he was spared the worst due to his long nights of patrol, unlike the city urchin, or the farmer or the Steppes Warrior, considering they each must be more used to warmer climes.
"My suggestion, is that if we don't find a path down the far side by mid-day, we turn back, and try and go around. Much more than one more night like that could be very dangerous."

DM Stylz |

Vladimir, seems to die from hypothermia over the course of the evening.
feel free to loot the body
The next day, the group continues on their journey, traveling through the mountain pass. You don't reach the "other side", but can tell you have gotten through the worst of it. Nightfall comes, it gets cold, but not nearly as cold as the other night.
Everything goes well...almost too well. Morning comes, and everyone feels invigorated at the possibility of finding water, ocean, shoreline...something to get you off this accursed island of torture and despair.
Everyone receive +4 HP from sleeping the night
The morning passes smoothly, until midday. You see the exit of the mountain pass, chilling chorus of howls echoes through the air as a massive, white-furred wolf emerges

Yurian takes the teeth to add to his necklace collection.
"Wow. That was... different than killing something with a bow. I could feel it moving, through the sword. It's whole body was vibrating, reacting, and then it just... stopped."
"I can't believe Vladamir is dead. It was so cold." He goes silent for a few minutes of walking. "Can we find somewhere warm? Or build a fire or something? My fingers aren't black or anything yet, but I've seen people lose the tips of their noses and ears over less than what we felt last night. And I want to check my toes. I don't want to lose my toes."

DM Stylz |

The opening to the cave is lightly covered in fresh powdery snow. After wiping away, you can see a few feet into the cave, until Xipe makes a light source.
You can see the cave is roughly 40 feet in diameter. At the far northeastern wall, it appears there is a side tunnel that extends to parts unknown.
Even, leading the way, and Yurian protecting the rear, you head into the cave, and towards the back tunnel...expecting the worst.
You reach the tunnel and it isn't a tunnel, but rather a 15 foot by 10 alcove. In the alcove you see the skeletal remains of a humanoid creature. It appears the timber wolf had a meal...better them than you however.
The skeleton has a ring, a shortsword, a dagger, and a suit of tattered leather armor on. The leather armor is in an unusable condition since the timber wolf has gnawed at it, but the other items seem in useable condition.

Yurian |

"Poor bastard... Or lucky one. Who's better off right now, us or Vladamir? At least he's not running around for a mad wizard's entertainment anymore. Guess this guy won't be need in gamy of this stuff anymore..."
Yurian scoops up the short sword and checks the blade for rust and nicks. (Is there a scabbard?). He picks up the ring as well, giving it a close examination for any 'special' properties.
Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Xipe |

"We can shelter here, but we have no wood for a fire. This will keep us from the wind, and we have bedrolls. The earth will keep from freezing, the earth insulates, so it will be cool but not deadly."

DM Stylz |

After gathering a few pieces of gear, that a skeleton will not be needing, your brave group process out of the mountains and closer to the coastline...hopefully. The rest of the day goes uneventful, a few birds are seen overhead, but nothing that could bite your face off.
Evening comes and goes, and you all get a goodnight sleep and wake ready and raring to go. The next day goes well, and come late morning you reach the coast. The only catch is, there is a rocky cliff face that drops down 80 feet before you can get to a small shoreline.

Xipe |

Xipe stands at the edge peering off the cliff. It seems beautiful, but always on her mind is the fact that she is here as a prisoner, part of some twisted game.
"It seems safer to follow the coast for a while to see if the cliff disappears, rather than scale down."
They had finally reached the coast, but a small obstacle.

Even Fell |

"I agree camping seems like a good plan, I don't like the idea of trying to scale that in the dark."
Well, I don't like the idea of trying to scale that with less than a Knotted Rope, and I don't think we have that much between the 3 of us. (DC 5, -7 ACP, 3 STR)

Yurian |

"Is there a point in going down? I doubt the wizard's tower is down there, and he's not likely to have left us a boat either. I don't think he's going to let us off this island, so we might as well keep on moving until we find some stuff to help us kill him, or until we find where he lives."

Xipe |

"That makes sense Yurian, we have seen the shore now and have an idea what it takes if we want to get a raft down there."
Xipe retreats from the edge of the cliff somewhat and starts looking for a campsite, then gathers wood and materials for the night.

DM Stylz |

Xipe, gathers wood and gets a campfire set up for the evening. The evening passes by uneventful, until around midnight.
Even, is on watch, and the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. Eh looks around, and sees not one but two creatures crackling and sparking with electric current coming their way.
