The Game Hamster |
Parii's team ends with a 18 on the first pull.
Grizmarks team ends with a 24 on the first pull.
Parii's team is precariously close to the mud at this point.
Khaz may make diplomacy rolls if he is trying to gather information about something in particular, but that particular should be stated beside the roll.
Leroy may begin eating at any time. the first round is a pork eating round, where you are required to eat at least 2 pounds of pork. as stated before, all the rounds will require a fortitude save, which becomes progressively more difficult. There are five other contestants.
The Game Hamster |
Leroy, plunges into the third pie! He finishes it! Make a fortitude save! The third course is brought out, and it happens to be fowl, of many different shapes and sizes. four of the other contestants have left the stage, one in the second, three in the third, one left having to be dragged of the stage, having made himself sick. So, if you make it to the fourth round it will be only you and one rather large, burly man left.
Parii needs to make a strength check as well.
The Game Hamster |
Leroy becomes sickened. do you wish to use a willpower or fortitude save to continue? failure of either will result in a loss, or you can also back out.
@Parii, Did you save any for us?
Parii, pulls with all her might, and yet, her team mates, aren't helping much at all, but unfortutely the other team seems to pull just a little bit harder, pulling Parii into the mud spot, thus ending the match, but impressing the two locals on the other team that a small Gnome could pull so well. No one fell into the mud, as no one was highly outmatched this round.
Parii |
3 big pieces. All for me. Also the day after tomorrow me and my grandma are making a full day to go to this place.
Parii smiled, and walked to Grizmark, shaking his hand. "Well, that was fun, no?"
The Game Hamster |
The church is not yet open, as the opening ceremony will not take place until after lunch. Speaking of which... The noon bell gongs. The people begin to gather in front of the temple complex again. The acolytes wheel a giant covered box right behind father Zantus, who gets up onto the stage.
"Greetings again people of Sandpoint, visitors, and all. That bell is our herald for the beginning of lunch, generously provided, free of charge, by our towns various taverns. I suggest that you all try as many of their various dishes as you want, I am sure that they will all be delicious. Of course, before our meal, I must, as it is this towns tradition, tell you all the tale of the swallowtails." The people get even quieter as he begins the story. "It was long, long ago, as the gods themselves were just discovering our planet. Desna, the goddess of luck, fell down to Golarion, injuring herself in the process. Yet, a lone blind child found her, and caring for the stranger, nursed her back to health. in return, the goddess blessed the child, turning her into an immortal butterfly, and this child then, over the centuries spawned her many children." As he said this last bit, the acolytes pull the covering off the box revealing a cage containing hundreds of swallowtails, which then fly out of it in a great cloud, dispersing over the crowd, much to the delight of the children, many of whom take off in an effort to grab the butterflies.
"Enjoy the meal!" hollers Father Zantus, as he climbs of the stage.
The meal consists of vast amounts of various stews, soups, and dishes prepared by the various taverns in town. The delicious array of offerings include a curry spiced salmon prepared by Ameiko Kaijitsu, owner of the rusty dragon, a peppercorn venison by the cooks of the white deer, a lobster chowder from the Hagfish, and a beef and venison stew by Lanalee Magravee from Risa's place. After lunch, the opening ceremony will take place. would you care to try any of these dishes?
I will make the opening ceremony post around 8-10 tonight, it is also likely to be a lengthy post.
Khaz Dourblade |
Khaz will leave Leroy to go rest off his large meal, and will go enjoy the free lunch provided by the town. He will go for the peppercorn venison. If still hungry, he will then try the lobster chowder, and will generally stick around until the opening ceremony.
The Game Hamster |
While all of the food presented is delicious, the one which truly stands out is the curry-spiced Salmon. Flocks of people gathered to taste Ameiko's latest food item, and the Gnome was not disappointed by the hype. The dish is truly first class, as is the early winterdrop mead which is served with it. Ameiko seems to have spared no expense on this meal.
The people begin to make their way back towards the temple for the opening ceremony. Would you care to strike up any conversations on the way over, or would you rather just talk amongst yourselves?
Khaz Dourblade |
Khaz will assume that the only talk will be about the church and human gods. Neither of which really interest him, but he assumes will be for both Parii and Grizmark. Instead of interacting with the crowd, he will instead talk to Leroy, and suggest that they find Grizmark so he can do something about Leroy's overburdened stomach.
The Game Hamster |
Eventually everyone makes their way back to the Temple courtyard, where there is much discussion and jovial shoving amongst the locals. Father Zantus takes the stage, twists his wrist, and a second later, a sharp retort, like the crack of thunder booms through the air, calling to every ones attention the older gentleman on the platform. A stray dog, under a nearby wagon, yelps outs wakened by the crack of the thunderstone. Father Zantus clears his throat, takes a breath... And then comes the first scream. A woman cries out in terror from the back of the crowd. The dog, now dying, lies on the ground, it's throat cut from ear to ear, as several small bodied creatures begin to run into the crowd. (knowledge nature, untrained allowed) Among the numerous of these small, laughing, crazed humaniod creatures several begin a high-pitched chant, singing to a simple tune:
"Goblins chew and Goblins bite,
Goblins cut and Goblins fight,
Stab the dog and cut the horse,
Goblins eat and take by force!"
Drums begin to accompany this chant from various areas of the town.
"Goblins race and Goblins Jump,
Goblins slash and Goblins bump,
Burn the skin and mash the head,
Goblins here and you be dead!"
Much giggling accompanies this line, locals and visitors begin to realize what is occurring, and many people begin to run, fleeing for their houses and other safe places, prompting the creatures to sing their next verse.
"Chase the baby, catch the pup,
bonk the head to shut it up!
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed!
We be Goblins! YOU BE FOOD!"
The creature who just killed the dog is still standing there, and he is looking around for another target. Two more of his comrades are close by. What do our brave heroes do?
Leroy is no longer sickened, thanks to Grizmark.
Leroy Lifebender |
Leroy sees the creatures that are the hated enemy of dwarves. He pulls a pebble out and fires it at the lead goblin, the one who killed the dog:
ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
DMG: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
If he is more than 30' away he will spend a move action to gather energy, if not he just fires ... I don't care what you are, a lvl 1 goblin is dead :)
Leroy Lifebender |
Okay, Leroy gathers energy in a brilliant display of glowing violet light, gathering it into the pebble before launching it (reducing the extended range burn to 0, and making a large noticeable display 30ft wide and centered on Leroy... *hey look I'm a badass!* basically )
Same rolls*
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
It's best if you actually roll initiative for us so that combat goes faster.
Khaz Dourblade |
"Stay together! Leroy, Grizmark, stay behind me! Gnome, you as well. Shields up! We protect the two of them while they blast the bastards back to the darklands."
Hoping that she would listen, Khaz pulled his shield off his back and readied his axe. He knew from experience that foes would attempt to over whelk anyone who could kill them afar, and he was not going to allow any harm to come upon his kinsmen. Remembering that he was dealing with a paladin, he added:
""Running off won't help anyone. The humans can flee behind us while we hold back whatever comes down this street."
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
[ooc]Going forward I think that the GM should roll initiative for us[/dice]
Parii |
"What in the...?! Where did these things come from?!" the gnome yelled, pulling out her sword and shield before moving 20' towards the nearest living goblin.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
I do also believe that the GM should roll initiative.
The Game Hamster |
The goblins go first. The one who killed the dog, runs ten feet closer, stops, stoops down, and comes up with a copper piece, which he begins chewing on. The one on the far left, clambers up onto one of the food tables, and begins to chew on the pepper venison that is left. The one to the far right charges Khaz.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
It misses, Khaz easily dodges the blow.
Parii draws her sword, right before Leroy launches his attack. unless he says otherwise, he attacks the one that's closest that isn't in combat, or in other words, the one which killed the dog. The goblins is hit, lets out one last shriek, and then lies dying on the ground.
Khaz draws his shield and his sword.
Grizmark, opting to use magic instead of weaponry, takes a five foot step towards the goblin on the table, and may cast his spell.
Leroy Lifebender |
leroy smiles as the dumb thing goes down, he then forgoes gathering energy and instead picks up a peice of food and aims at the goblin eating. Eat this ya' little Rock Biter!
he launches a leg of some fowl at the goblin.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
the meat(and the goblin) collide in a very painful hit.
confirm touch Crit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
however it isn't a brutal as it could have been.
Dmg: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
If he is more than 30' away then leroy will take the burn :)
Parii |
Parii heads towards the closest standing goblin and swings her sword. "Stand down, you little maniac!"
Shortsword Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
However, her attack must have missed by a wide shot, and she curses in her tongue.
