He Meligaster and Cinro both damage a wolf, the rest miss. The wolves move forward
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (4) = 8 as the wolf tries to bite He Meligaster
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (19) = 23
bite: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (19) = 23 as this one tries to bite Cinro.
Those bit take dmg: 2d4 + 2 + 1d4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 + (3) = 13 per bite, with the last d4 meaning poison dmg, a con save of 11 halves this poison dmg and the dmg goes to 1/4 if you save and have poison resistance.
All heroes are up

Drek'Thar |

Who's the second bite directed at?
Drek stays away from the wolves, trying to freeze one of them.
Frostbite: Save Con DC 13 or suffer 1d8 ⇒ 5 cold damage and disadvantage on next attack.
The idol rejuvenates all of Drek's companions. Everyone gets 2 temporary hp.

DoubleGold |

con: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (15) = 17 nope
But something shakes the ground near you all and the wolves take off running.
I recommend you get inside the building very quickly and not stay outside

Drek'Thar |

"What the-" Drek curses while getting in and having a look to check what's happening outside.

DoubleGold |

As you all get inside and then look outside a gargantuan sized creatures comes nearby and then after realizing nothing is there goes away. I'm going to assume no one will attack it and just let it leave
The woman wants to talk to you but the wolves return 2 minutes later after the creature leaves. Please tell me, some of you have ranged weapons/attacks The wolves will try to find an opening. you have 2 rounds before they bust through a window, go.
that other hit was on He Meligaster, but it took out temp hp first, we will say, so he's at 2
Alright everyone take 2 rounds of ranged attack through a slightly opened window.

Drek'Thar |

So, one wolf (or 2) make two CON saves DC 13.
Save #1, take 1d8 ⇒ 8 and disadvantage on next attack if failed.
Save #2, take 1d8 ⇒ 6 and disadvantage on next attack if failed.

DoubleGold |

con: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (10) = 11 dead as that was injured one
con: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (16) = 17 saved.
The wolves look down at their dead buddy, but continue to snarl.
Wolves still looking for a weak spot inside the house, can't find one.

DoubleGold |

And cinro kills another one, the last one can't get through the window in time and you all kill it.
The woman thanks you, she is a green half-orc female with red hair.
Hello and thanks for the rescue. Oh, and what news do you bring me from my beloved?

DoubleGold |

Oh, no. Someone obviously murdered him, he would never suicide. No wonder I haven't heard from him in days And she seems distraught, but also not surprised by the news.

Drek'Thar |

By Sense Motive I guess you mean Insight
Insight: 1d20 + 0 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 0 + 1 = 14
"Okay, we only want to help. We believe you, but any info on who could have been would be very valuable."

DoubleGold |

How was he killed? and when you mention the hopeknife, she shows you a receipt
Morninghawk's Fire Steel
Receipt of purchase
Order One (1) Hopeknife
Additional options: engraving. "For Rodrik my Love."
Smith: Urusul
He lost his hopeknife several days ago and couldn't find it. He lost it on the night of Ruby's hopeknife ceremony. He had such beautiful poems.
Just then a man comes knocking on the door, wearing a guard outfit.
I found this as evidence
A note:
Melira,
I shouldn't be away for much longer. We still haven't found what we're looking for, but it's only a matter of time, and the other perparations are proceeding as planned. A meddling militia patrol captain has been poking around, but I don't foresee him being a threat for much longer. Once our work is done, it won't matter anyway, and I can return to you. I marvel that I found you in the midst of all this, and think of you constantly. Soon, my beloved.
The guard says. It ain't safe for investigators or heroes like yourselves to stay here, nor is it safe for Brinya. If you want, you can all rest in the guard station's guest room. We will follow up on more leads.

DoubleGold |

it is pure int check and not high enough. Alright, everyone to level 2
Well then it is settled you rest there well rested and are told to meet at the inn for free breakfast and a meeting.

Drek'Thar |

Drek cannot refuse a free breakfast. He remembers then that he's here to do some bartering, so he hopes the merchants have what he's looking for.

Shamsiel |

Sorry for the lack of posting the last little while...work is being more.."work-like" the last few days (budget time!)
Shamsiel nods his head in agreement with Drek'Thar.
"A warm meal would be wonderful to get us started on our way!"

DoubleGold |

I've been slow too, I didn't want this game to be fast
You all sit down. The guards sit next you to you all and have a meeting. We believe it is a cult involved, but we have to be careful, they could be listening any time You notice they are all whispering. They are going to be easy to identify, I suggest you all keep watch of the town at night if you could and report suspicious activity, what do you all say? The place is fairly empty, but the place usually isn't busy in the morning and you are sitting in the corner at least 3 tables away from any group. You all have pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns and of course an ale.

DoubleGold |

You all see him after someone points him out, but the perception is to notice he was the same guy from earlier. Basically a perception to remember one certain face appearing again and again out of the hundreds you see throughout the day. Anyway, what are you all doing? Waiting for him to leave, move to a different table, going outside to confront him, etc.

DoubleGold |

insight: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (18) = 18 insight advantage: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (7) = 7 to see if he suspects you are onto him.
Some of you head out the front door others head out the back. Is that what you are all doing, according to Drek? Anyone staying inside the building watching him out the window? Or you all heading to the front door?

DoubleGold |

As you all move away from the window and open the door, you discover he is not there, so much for trying to confront him, he must have left in the few seconds you took your eyes off of him. Or you can give me an investigation check to find where he went, dc 15

Drek'Thar |

Seek scratches his head. Where can he have gone?
Investigation: 1d20 + 0 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 0 + 1 = 10

DoubleGold |

None of you seem to know where he went, several townsfolk are walking by. A merchant nearby is handing out free samples of cider. Free samples, buy it by the gallon.

DoubleGold |

He went that way, he has a meeting in the theater play and there is no play tonight, so the meeting is on stage. He will be there for about a half an hour. Well, while there is no hurry, why don't you all stay and try my cider? The ones in Galloons have healing properties and cost 10 gold each. The free samples I didn't add that, but they taste good.
Don't try the free samples
