Gale:Yes, you would get your snap shot ability.

Rogard: Do spellcraft to identify why she has all those images. It will also explain the other spell. Blindsight will work if you close your eyes, if not, no.

Irra: Being covered in webs makes you entangled. If you fail the will save you have to make a fortitude save DC 20 or be nauseated.

so i'm going to sniper her, my last stealth check was a 55 -10 for sniping.

My Init for the surprise round is 32 :)

as the door swings open Gale quickly recognizes the described octopus lady and that she is in the middle of casting a spell and with lighting reflexes she snaps of a shot with her bow.

firstly sorry gm :P but if i hit her (if i missed i think we are screwed :S) she would need to make a concentration check of DC 10 + min 41 points of damage taken + the level of the spell + 5 from the distracting arrow to cast what ever spell she just used.... potentially

No, actually you didn't wait to shoot her, you fired on your fast initiative. You hit her, then she casts her spell.

She is not casting a spell until it is her turn, and you have no way to know she intends to cast a spell.

She will take all that damage since you do hit, but you will not disrupt.


If there is a surprise round wouldn't rogard be unknown combatant to her due to stealth? And as such act in said surprise round? Or did you just make the rolls in the spoiler? And unless I am mistaken I have no need to close my eyes anymore than I have to rely on scent. Certainly it would give contradicting information but then you just need to decide wich one to belive.

Since you were hiding, the spell didn't target you, though it is pretty moot since you saved anyway.

It is an illusion which uses images to distract you. Either you close your eyes so you don't see the images, or you deal with the chance of targeting images. Scent is not specific enough to negate 100% concealment, it just lets you know the square she is in.

I presume I can't get what bypasses that DR, or any rough ideas as to what the SLAs might be?

Reaching into her pocket, Irra extracts a small bone; muttering a word, she breaks it in half, and nods in satisfaction as the creature's form shivers and shakes as hideous cracking sounds emerge from within.

Fair enough with listing off SLAs, just hoping for general themes; whether that kind of creature is known to have mostly teleportation magic or enchantment magic, that sort of thing.


I already gave you more than I particularly wanted to since people usually ask specifically for resistances. You generally know that devils are defeated by either silver or good, or the combination. No way I'm going to list off SLAs.


Rogard pushes his massive frame past Gale into the room as he shouts to the half-elf. "It is an illusion get a hold of yourself!" Once he manages to get close in on the woman the tiger reveals it's fangs and tries to snatch the enemy between his jaws.

Actually there was a surprise round, but only Gale and the baddie went in it. Now we were supposed to be rolling initiative, but everyone went, even though the baddie had the best initiative.

Aramus is glad that the webbing and spiders draped over him disappear with Gale's spell, and slightly chagrined that it was only an illusion. She and the dwarf--er, tiger?--are right, man. You need to get a hold of yourself! Resolving to act more diligently, he proceeds to let his mouth fall agape at Ilia's betrayal. Working it a couple of times before he can comment, he finally shouts, "You... you b*tch!" With that he steps forward and deals the woman several wicked thrusts with his rapier.
Swift action to challenge her, five-foot step for free, and full attack. She's lost her chance.

Rogard swings and hits air most violently. Not even close enough to pop images.

Aramus drops Ilia in three deft blows like a sack of potatoes. She is dead as a stone. Then he points a finger at the squid lady, making a rather intimidating impression.

Gale volleys at the squid lady, but misses every time.

She does get an opportunist shot in on the thief, but it is fairly moot.

Arvaldo lost invisibility once he attacked. Kinetic invisibility is like the basic spell. I'll note it in the future. do you have the total on the attack? You didn't add a bonus. I'm assuming that the 7d6 was sneak attack? 25% fortification: 1d100 ⇒ 39
