2. SKITTERMANDERS USE THEIR SIX ARMS TO GESTURE A GREAT DEAL WHILE SPEAKING; THE POSITIONING OF THEIR ARMS OFTEN CHANGES THE IMPLICATIONS OF THEIR WORDS, FROM GREAT EMPHASIS TO WITHERING SARCASM.
3. A SKITTERMANDER’S NAME GROWS AS THE SKITTERMANDER AGES AND PASSES CERTAIN MILESTONES. A NAME BEGINS VERY SHORT, USUALLY NO MORE THAN ONE SYLLABLE. NEW SYLLABLES ARE ADDED WITH THE PASSING OF TIME OR WHENEVER THE SKITTERMANDER FEELS LIKE IT. ADDED SYLLABLES ARE OFTEN REPETITIVE, AND MANY SKITTERMANDERS ADOPT PARTS OF OTHER ALIEN NAMES (PARTICULARLY VESK NAMES) INTO THEIR OWN.
4. SKITTERMANDERS HAVE A FLUID OUTLOOK TOWARD LEADERSHIP, DEFERRING TO WHOMEVER HAS THE MOST EXPERTISE TO TACKLE THE TASK AT HAND; THE CONCEPT OF PERMANENT GOVERNANCE SEEMS STRANGE TO THEM.

MOST SKITTERMANDERS BECOME FASCINATED WITH A PARTICULAR SPECIFIC TOPIC, WHETHER IT BE THE RELIGIOUS RITES OF A SMALL SECT OF WORSHIPERS, THE INTERPLAY OF FUNDAMENTAL PARTICLES AT A QUANTUM LEVEL, OR THE NATIVE CUISINE OF A TINY ICE COVERED MOON. SKITTERMANDERS LEARN EVERYTHING THEY CAN ABOUT THEIR CHOSEN TOPICS, EVEN IF THE INFORMATION SEEMS USELESS TO OTHERS.
6. AN ADULT SKITTERMANDER RETAINS A WHELP’S ABILITY TO EAT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING, AND MANY GET THE URGE TO BINGE ON A SPECIFIC TYPE OF CUISINE OR A CERTAIN FLAVOR OF FOOD FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THIS TYPICALLY OCCURS IMMEDIATELY AFTER GETTING A TASTE OF A NEW TYPE OF FOOD OR FLAVOR.
7. THOUGH SKITTERMANDERS CAN TALK EXCITEDLY AND AT LENGTH ABOUT A TOPIC (ESPECIALLY ONES THEY ARE INTERESTED IN), SEEMINGLY WITHOUT NEEDING TO TAKE A BREATH, THEY ALSO FALL INTO LONG BOUTS OF SILENCE WHEN UNDERTAKING PARTICULARLY CHALLENGING TASKS.
8. SKITTERMANDERS DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY OTHER SPECIES INDULGE IN DIVERSIONS AND PASTIMES THAT GIVE A FALSE SENSE OF FEAR. SKITTERMANDERS DON’T GO ON THRILL RIDES (SUCH AS ROLLERCOASTERS) OR CONSUME ENTERTAINMENT IN THE HORROR GENRE (SUCH AS SCARY VIDS).
9. EARLY SKITTERMANDERS DEVELOPED A SERIES OF MYTHS AND LEGENDS CENTERED AROUND THE CONSTELLATIONS OF THE NIGHT SKY. MANY SKITTERMANDERS STILL HOLD THESE PARTIALLY SECULAR, PARTIALLY SPIRITUAL BELIEFS; SOME RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS THINK THIS IS A FORM OF THE FAITH OF IBRA THE INSCRUTABLE.
10. SKITTERMANDERS BELIEVE IN THE EQUALITY OF ALL BEINGS, NO MATTER THEIR RACE, CREED, GENDER, OR ORIENTATION.

Looking at the Pregens I would like to play Dakoyo as Mystic is a class I haven't gotten to really play. Also these things are FAR too cute. It pains me.
So personally I'm not too interested in playing a Soldier. So I have to ask, we have only one pre gen left...do two of make none pre-gens? or are we just gonna double up on two?
When the initial pregens run out, a second copy is made for whatever duplicates are needed ;)
As a note, one player dropped out because they wanted a table with only four players. I certainly don't begrudge anyone for that, however! I am going to contact an alternate, though.

(I've never played with a pre-gen before, but I think I've done this correctly. Vchk hasn't yet reached 2nd level.)
It looks like we've got the envoy, mystic, and mechanic taken, with an interest in a second mechanic. I'm gonna go ahead and claim Nako, the soldier. That opens up all the roles for the rest to double up. I should have my alias up and dotted in shortly.
Apologies, I wasn't sure where we were choosing our roles and so was waiting to see a list or sign up of what everyone else was taking. I have no preference at all, so will take whatever is needed.
Maybe a second Mystic (Dakoyo)? Or do we already have two of those?
Also, just a heads-up that I'll be on a week-long vacation beginning tonight. I'm hoping to keep up with my player posts using my smartphone though, so it shouldn't be much of an issue, except that I doubt I'll be posting more than once a day or so.
And we're back. Unfortunately, I'm going to be leaving for Dragon*Con this weekend and my availability may be iffy. I'll try and make a post a day, however.
So, there is an optional encounter of a space combat, but given that it's Optional and space combat is slow in the best of conditions, I'm going to opt to skip it unless there are objections. It doesn't really contribute to the plot or alter the rewards you get, it's just one more chance to cooperate as a group.
If someone really wants it run we can do it though.

Oops, somehow I didn't notice that we had new posts in discussion last week (I must've accidentally cleared the notification). I'd say I'm OK skipping the starship combat. They tend to move pretty slow in PbP, so they're not my favorite.

I still don't fully understand SFS credit and such - what's the level range that this credit can be applied to?

Thanks everyone for making this a fun run! It definitely was filled with adversity from the site issues and I had my own share of RL slowdowns, but I appreciate everyone sticking through it.
