Actually, I just read the Lock Gaze spell, and it gives me concealment, which lets me sneak attack! I may actually be able to hurt this thing!

Takkit looks forlornly at his bow and hisses through bared teeth at the Remorhaz.
You'll pay! Tomas was a good person!

He darts forward, and uses the momentum from his movement to slash with two daggers nonmagical, I don't like the description of how the heat melted the arrows, or how Tomas took damage from hitting the thing, I have a feeling our weapons will take damage if we hit it at the giant beast!

Lock gaze did not work as the creature resisted it. The curse also does not necessarily make the Remorhaz flat footed so no sneak attack. If you wish to change you action let me know as you will be taking an AoO for movement.

Sarephta's javelin and her spiritual weapon both clatter harmlessly off of the Remorhaz's thick hide, not quite able to penetrate it.

@Reavis- an 18 is still not a hit unfortunately. Though it is close.

Reavis's acid arrow flies high over the creatures spine, landing in the ice beyond.

Dolores attempts to curse the beast once again.

I will indeed be changing my actions. Not going to get close if I can't get sneak attack.

Takkit looks mournfully down at his bow and then hisses at the Remorhaz between bared teeth, before pulling a smokestick out of his bandolier. He then lights it, and tosses it At his feet, concealing himself from the massive beast.
I'm assuming that pulling it out and lighting it takes a full round, so I will do that. I am dropping it so that I am inside the edge of the ten foot cube. I can't properly edit it from my phone though. This should give most of us concealment from the thing if we get inside it, and I can light more if we need it. I'm hoping the thing comes to us so I can get a flank on it, or attack it from the smoke. Hopefully we can deal enough damage to it to finish it off...

Smokestick:

Price 20 gp; Weight 1/2 lb.

This alchemically treated wooden stick instantly creates thick, opaque smoke when burned. The smoke fills a 10-foot cube (treat the effect as a fog cloud spell, except that a moderate or stronger wind dissipates the smoke in 1 round). The stick is consumed after 1 round, and the smoke dissipates naturally after 1 minute.

EDIT: I was able to properly format it and got it situated like I was saying.

I have been doing a bit of research. I am not seeing anywhere where it says that his attack changes to a ranged touch. Simply says that he infuses his projectile with the alchemical weapon for extra damage and no longer splashes. Unless there is something I am missing.

Takkit tosses a smokestick onto the ground, creating a small cloud of nauseating smoke while Zeno places a well aimed arrow into the Remorhaz's neck.

You have time to heal before homing on the sleds before go into the next part.

Takkit loads Tomas' body inot the sled as the group sets off down the hill at a little slower pace. Behind them and around them, drums and smoke signals swiftly spread the beastmen’s voices through the lower peaks. The violation of the holy lands, slaying of their brethren has roused them to war.

@- Sarephta- everyone took damage from the Taer's spears.

As the Valley narrows within the wings the sleds begin to speed up on their downhill slope. Looking up Takkit, Reavis and Sarephta see just in time as four sleds full of eight Aspis Consortium agents that have been lying in wait in the hilltops on either side of the pass.

A chorus of yowling dogs echoes from atop the surrounding hills. Suddenly, from out of the snow-covered brush shoot four teams of dogsleds. They barrel down the hills at breakneck speed. Your sleds bounce with the racing winds and bright sun reflecting off the snow.

No map for this one. While attacking I will refer to them as sled 1,2,3,4

The four sleds are gaining quickly behind you. 60 feet behind you. You can make ranged attacks at a -4 penalty.

Drivers please make your DC 10 Handle Animal (or crash) check each round. We have about 4-5 rounds before you reach the ice dunes of the talons heading on your way back down.

Any particular reason we just don't stop the sleds and take these guys out? I worry that the crash damage is going to be worse than anything they can do. If the Taer show up, they'll be attacking them as well.

I'm very likely to crash this before I make it. Obviously, as soon as any sled crashes, we all need to stop, so I'm also on board with stopping the sleds voluntarily now, rather than wait until someone takes damage from crashing, then fighting.

Sarephta manages to guide her sled temporarily as she contemplates stopping the sled. She casts protection from evil on herself in preparation for combat.

If that is your intent. The sleds are currently going speed 5. As a move action you can slow them by 1 increment each round with a DC 12. Or as a full round you can do a full stop with a DC 20

Sarephta manages to guide the sled for a bit as she slows it down. Taking a hand off the reins she casts a protective spell over herself.

Though Takkit's aim is good he does not manage to get nearly enough distance in his throw to strike the Aspis agents. The alchemist fire explodes on the ice behind him as his sled slows.

@Dolores. You all took damage from the Taers spears as you were running to the sleds.

Reavis leans back in the sled and fires an arrow at the lead sled. His shot glances right into the sled's musher

The Aspis agent in the third sled (Fyrth) grabs a net from his side and attempts to hurl it at Takkit.

Net vs Takkit Tch AC 17: 1d20 + 7 - 4 - 10 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 4 - 10 = 6

The net falls short as the wind catches it and nearly covers the agent himself.

With distance it does. Alchemical weapons have a range of 10 feet. for every range increment past that it is -2. So you would have had an additional -10 for distance on that flask putting you at a 9 to hit as you had to throw it an additional 50 feet.

Not sure why the sleds only have one speed: 90 mph. I've taken more damage from falling off the sled this adventure than I've taken cumulatively over 5 levels, which is pretty absurd. This is the scenario's fault, not our good DM, but I've just got to say it. :/
