New to Golarion, I would like to tell a Red Hand of Doom story.

Hi everyone, I am new to Golarion and I enjoy every moment of it. I haven't read yet any of the books, if i would like to tella Red hand of doom story (an amy of goblins, orcs, hobgoblins attacks the countryside) where could I tell this story. Is there an AP that tells a similar story? Thanks in advance.

There are no APs focused on that story, at least past Book 1.

That being said, I would read up on the nations of Isger (where the Goblinblood Wars took place) and nearby Molthune (a military nation). The orc lands of Belkzen could attack any of their neighbors as well - Ustalav, Varisia, Lastwall.

Something similar to what happens in "Red Hand of Doom" actually happened in Golarion's recent past, specifically in the nation of Isger. The conflict was known as the Goblinblood Wars, and also involved the neighboring nations of Cheliax, Druma, and Andoran.

If you wanted to stick with Golarion canon, you could set the adventure during this period, or you could simply use the events of the war and its after-effects as inspiration for your own game.

Giving the Goblinblood Wars a quick once-over on a pathfinder wiki; it looks like you could very easily modify the Red Hand of Doom adventure in and of itself for Pathfinder, with just a few minor changes. Great suggestion, PFWiki Scribe. I'm half-tempted to do just this myself now.

Hey Mantriel, if you are still looking for a place to set Red Hand of Doom in Golarion, Isger is definitely your best bet. There are several cities in it that act as perfect analogues to those in Red Hand of Doom. Further, setting it in a region that suffered from the Goblinblood wars (where the humans suffered from raids, enslavement and butchery while goblinoids suffered from ethnic cleansing) gives the Hobgoblins real motivation to unite under a leader who promises them vengeance and glory.

Thanks for the replies. I bought the adventure Fangwood keep and I will run it soonish, after that I plan to run a campaign in Isger, thanks for the suggestion! The goblinblood wars is ideal, and I antd to run an undead campaign after that anyway which will be quite easy with the Gillamoor plague. :-D

Volume 1 of Rise of the Runelords is goblins, which proceeds to lead up to evil cultists, ghouls, and ogres in volume 2-3. You can get the compiled version of that AP in the Annual Edition; it's updated from 3.5 to PF.

Giantslayer 1 starts with orcs and then moves up to ogres and giants.

You could probably take the first one or two volumes of an AP and use it to lead into Red Hand of Doom
