Arrika helps Anevia and Aravashnial past the barricade and into the larger room, closing the door behind to offer some measure of protection from behind.

As Sabrina comes closer to the northeastern room, she is able to see what appears to be a pantry. A rack of hooks hangs from the ceiling, cured slabs of meat dangling from them and filling the room with a smoky aroma. A group of barrels appears to hold other preserved foodstuffs.

Kelumarion is able to reach the mongrels in front of Bertholdt but fails to bite them. Inside the room, the blue-skinned mongrel aims his longbow at Bertholdt but doesn't shot... she gives a couple orders. The mongrel in front of the door attacks the cleric but are too clumsy... one of them, perhaps in panic, hits his own ally with his claw after failing to hit Bertholdt. He then steps back, providing a clear shot for their apparent leader. The blue-skinned mongrel lets an arrow fly and Bertholdt can feel the pain on his right leg.

At Elriel's frustration, Kelumarion attempts to duck into the room past the mongrelmen and take up a position between the assailants and the door behind them. But the foes prove too quick to fall for his dodges, and he stops in his tracks as they swing.

Acrobatics to avoid provoking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 I'm guessing that doesn't beat their CMD; if that's true, he'd be stopped in the space to the right of Sabrina, since that's the closest legal space to where he'd eat the AoO.

Right, looks like I'll have to bot Bertholdt... again. Kelumarion, as you might see, since Bertholdt moved inside first, the mongrel would not be able to AoO Kelu, so I made him attack one of the mongrels instead...

Sabrina was able to slash open a grievous wound on the closest mongrel but he refused to fall. Bertholdt, following his commander, enters the room and moves south, to hit the archer with his spear... unfortunately, when he turned his back to one of the mongrels, he slashed his arm with his claw. Wounded, Berthold tried to hit the archer but her thick hide proved too strong.

Kelumarion jumping into the middle of the room and tried to bite the mongrel holding the spear but wasn't able to reach him.

One of the mongrels attacked Sabrina with his club but she was able to dodge it. The other one sent its claw at Kelumarion, dripping with Bertholdt's blood and, just like Bertholdt, Kelumarion was wounded. The mongrels commander stepped back, away from Kelumarion's reach and sent another arrow at Bertholdt, piercing his thorax. The cleric drops in the ground, bleeding profusely.

Lann also moves inside the room and, after avoid a blow from one of the Traitors, is able to send his blade into his enemy's guts. The mongrel finally falls to the ground.

Bertholdt! Arrika cries out, rushing forward as she just sees the mad priest fall. Hoping against hope that her newly-discovered magic abilities would help, she kneels beside him and lays a hand on the bleeding wound...and when no rush of energy or glow of light is forthcoming, she curses, trying to at least stanch the flow. But with little experience as a medic, her breathing grows shaky and her hands flutter as she begins to panic, shocked at how much blood the priest is losing.

Sabrina first was about to assist Berthold, but seeing Arrika move in, she breathed a sigh of relief, the best way to help him right now was to eliminate the threat.

Sabrina returns her attention to the mongrelmen and step closer to the next one

but the distraction of her fallen comrade has put her swing off balance. she needed to learn better self control on the battlefield if she was to become a true crusader general.

Bertholdt crumples in a ball as Arrika, trying to help him, places her hand right in his opened wound. "GnnnGH!" is all he manages before passing out.

Elriel is able to make the blue-skinned commander bleed but Sabrina is unable to pierce the mongrel's thick hide. Kelumarion, with his sharp teeth, tears the mongrel's flesh, ignoring any resistance his hard skin could possess.

Despite Arrika's efforts, Bertholdt is still bleeding and his spirit closer and closer to leave this world.

Enraged by the 'betrayal', the enemy mongrel steps back and sends his spear towards Lann but the wounds provoked by Kelumarion seems to have hindered their enemy. The commander, seeing herself quickly surrounded and unable to properly use her bow, draws a club made of bone and hits Elriel in his ribs. A faint sound of something breaking is heard.

Seeking vengeance, Lann follows the traitor and slashes his forehead... the enemy mongrel is bleeding but still stands.

"GAAHASP!!" goes Bertholdt has Sabrina's touch revive him. His great eyes open wide and he says: "Oh Sabrina, I've failed you... Could you ever forgive m-Wait! THE BATTLES RAGES STILL??? WHY DID YOU WASTE TIME SAVING ME!?!" he shouts, trying to push off the paladin so he can get to his feet and get his spear.

If I can, this round, Bertholdt will get up and grab his weapon. If not, it will be for the next turn.

Looks like Sabrina also forgot about the bless spell in her former round... if not, her attack would have hit and the mongrel would be dead now! In the end it made no difference because Kelumarion's attack ended it now and he would have missed the leader.

Elriel connects yet another strike against the commander, drawing blood from her right arm. Thanks to Iomedae's graces channeled through Sabrina and Bertholdt, the cleric is able to stand once more, ready to fight the enemies of his faith. Kelumarion dispatches the last mongrel with a powerful bite.

The commander orders once more before hitting Elriel in his forehead. The elf-blooded soldier falls, bleeding profusely from his wounds. The blue-skinned commander then moves forward, stepping in Elriel's chest and smiles triumphantly.

Enraged, Lann moves forward in an attempt to hit the Traitor but fails to connect... Soon after you see two more mongrel entering the room, arriving from the hole in the ground behind the commander. Lann tries once more to stab with his shortsword and finds flesh and blood.

Seeing Kelumarion stepping between the door and the rest of the melee, Arrika suddenly notices a gap in the wall of allies hemming in the mongrelmen and takes a chance. She steps to fill in the space and swings her silver mace with all the force she can muster. Not to harm it - she knows her strength isn't enough to make much difference. But she can distract it, leave an opening for Kelumarion to capitalize on. Like we're a pack hunting.

Aid another attack vs. AC10 with bless: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

But her risk doesn't pay off - still nervous, Arrika finds herself swinging wide, and the mace passes harmlessly past the mongrelman.

The child thinks as one of a pack...wise. Though her silver stick swings wide, Kelumarion attacks as one with her, snapping at the mongrelman's leg. He has better luck than his young companion; he feels his teeth closing on the man's leg, biting down to bone.

Bite attack, damage: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 221d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

@Sabrina: Actually since Lay on Hands is a Supernatural ability, it does not provoke an AoO, no matter what.

Sabrina manages to hit a glancing slash against the commander but Berthold was more effective, piercing his stomach. Hearing Bertholdts scream, Aravashinal, guided by Anevia, enters the room and quickly begins to cast a spell... once he is finished, he touches Sabrina's leg (since she is on the top of the stone table) and she suddenly feels a wave of courage inside her. Kelumarion is able to finish the wounded mongrel in front of him with a powerful bite... the room is becoming quite filled with blood and dead mongrels.

Aravashnial casted heroism (+2 morale to attacks, saves and skill checks) and it will last for 1 hour.

The remaining mongrel tries to hit Lann with his gruesome club but fails to connect. The commander, suddenly and clearly afraid for her destiny, drops her bow and reaches for her belt... she then quickly glances back and sees that her stupid underling left her little room to maneuver. With resolute determination, the blue-skinned commander brings her bony club at Sabrina but her armor blocks yet another blow.

Lann tries to hit the Traitor's commander but fails miserably.

Sabrina is right... Heroism is a single target spell and Aravashnial cast it on her.

Taking advantage of the commander's health and her open guard, Sabrina is able to cut her neck, making blood run across the commander's breast... she falls on the ground. The other mongrel, with her leader, tries to flee but before she could move Kelumarion bit her leg, enabling Bertholdt to thrust his spear in her back... she also falls.

The room is covered in blood as the five mongrels lays around, all but one still bleeding. You are able to breath for a while, without the insurgence of more mongrels but you also hear faint sounds coming down the hole in the ground. You notice Lann is shaking... perhaps he never had to fight like this before.

Morrre coming! Kelumarion growls, placing himself between the fallen Elriel and the faint echoes. Move the fallen. Back therrre, wherrre he is prrrotected. He twitches his head toward the corner of the room where Bertholdt stands, then turns back to the hole with a snarl.

Five-foot step in front of the hole, ready standard action to attack anything within range of teeth, move action to growl very menacingly.

At Kelumarion's command, Arrika makes her way to the injured half-elf, taking him under the arms and dragging him to the corner of the room, where the table sits between him and the room's entrances.

I should be able to get him there (where Bertholdt's marker is now) with both my move actions, yes?


Bertholdt (on his turn) will follow Elriel and attempt once more to revive him: "He's severely wounded!"

Arrika is able to drag Elriel while Kelumarion and Sabrina guard the hole in the ground... but nothing comes out.

Bertholdt's spells are far less effective than he expected... perhaps there is something down here that is hampering his connection to the Inheritor, or perhaps this is Her way to tell him that his mission is not done yet down there. Even so, Elriel wakes up, even if still severely wounded.

With Anevia's help, Aravashnial comes closer to him and offers one of his potions. "Here, my friend, take one of these... I was holding it for myself but your efforts to keep me safe made me rethink..."

potion of cure moderate wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 8) + 3 = 15

Elriel sees as his wounds almost vanish, only leaving a ache or two behind.

Elriel sputtered at the liquid coming down his throat. He winced and contracted as broken ribs mended and jaw bone was set back in its right place.

He moved his jaw a couple of times before speaking, "Thank you. I seem to have bitten more than I could chew for my own sake. That mongrel archer was pretty good up close. Like she'd been taught where to hit or something."

He looked around at the still breathing mongrels and proceeded to quickly make sure they would not get up and fight again. His blades making sure work of his intentions.

He then pointed to the hole in the back, "There. Did any of you investigate whether that's latrine or something else? I thought I heard noise coming from there but it could have just been the hard knock to the jaw that jumbled my brain."
