"This statue is not familiar to this warrior. It might be one of the Dwarven pantheon, but they are not well know in Tian Xia."
Kasei's sword is at the ready, as always.

![]() |

Ellismus motions the others to be silent and points down the hall where the voices are coming from.

![]() |

Jaan nods and advances with weapon at the ready.

![]() |
As the party advances down the hallway, they see a fairly large chamber with a number of already triggered traps in it. A stone floor tile that must be a trigger mechanism has a piton wedged into it to keep it from moving. Several holes in the far wall look to be filled with some kind of putty or cement. You overhear two male and a female voice discussing possible methods of disabling some kind of ward without getting injured. When you come into view in the hall, a halfling notices you and holds two daggers in your direction while shouting an alarm, and 3 more halflings similarly armed come into view.

![]() |

"HOLD ON! WAIT! We're from the Pathfinder Society and we need experts like you!"

![]() |

"I'm Ellismus the Blue, from the Kortos Island, near Absalom. We've been hired by the Society to map out these halls. We've cleared a few monsters out but we're happy to see some civilized folks finally!"

![]() |
A robed female elf steps into the view of the hall. By the way the halflings immediately defer to her, it's evident she is in charge. "Pathfinders? I was worried you were a bunch of snakes or orcs. I am Laurlathsa, and this is my band of treasure hunters. We've been in these ruins for almost 2 days. After a full day sifting through orcish rubbish, we believe we found what we were looking for. We've been taking our time after hitting a rather nasty trap, and have managed to disable over a dozen more in this hall."

![]() |

"I can see you've done great work here already, yes. Perhaps we can join forces together to finish this dirty job. If I may be so bold what kind of treasure are you looking for? this old site is a lot of trouble to get to, and I hope you didn't lose any comrades on the way here!"

![]() |
"We've lost a couple of our group along the way unfortunately, and we are running very short on resources having come this far. This was originally a dwarven hold, but it's the crusaders during the shining crusade that left their treasure here. Be believe a great cache of unknown holy relics lie behind this door." The elven woman indicates a steel door on he south end of the room, wrapped in chains and covered in glowing magical runes. "We've come this far, but now that we are here, with our current condition we are afraid to proceed. Perhaps this is an opportunity for both of us. If you would be willing to go forward and face whatever lies ahead, I will provide you with the key to the door. All we ask is 25% of the take of the treasure within. At least with that much, this mission won't be a total loss, as it would be if we just turned back now taking the key with us."

Phosdlon ponders the lady's comments..

Phosdlon mumbles a little too loud...
"Hmm....I'm not so sure if she is telling the whole truth or not...

![]() |

"25% sounds fair, as you guys took care of all these traps, and our guys love to battle monsters and ancient evils... but to strike a proper deal, you need to disclose your employer. I can draw the papers if you wish. Agreed?"

![]() |

"This warrior has no objection to the deal, but is it necessary to take the time to write it down? We are not devils -- is a binding contract truly necessary?"
I like to think that among good-aligned folks in Golarion, written contracts are seen as vaguely diabolic.

![]() |

Jaan shakes his head subtly behind his Hellknight mask at Kuwabara.

![]() |

Is this game still going? I'm gonna need this character soon for a local game...

![]() |
With the agreement of the party, the elven woman hands over the key. Then instructs her companions to back off to allow your group to take over the trap springing. The halflings and elves retreat to the northern part of the room giving you access to the locked door.
Map updated. You are at the final encounter.

![]() |

Thank you GM Thrawn! did we lose the witch and her gator?
Ellismus takes the key and opens the door.

Jaan steels himself against the dangers to come.

Grythk is a legion archon, although he seems to be more powerful than a standard one. Legion Archons can create flaming swords or javelins from nothing if they are unarmed. They serve as soldiers and generals in the armies of the heavens.
Ellismus bomb hits home, but doesn't seem to slow the celestial. Jaan manages to get two very solid hits in, but it seems that the angel is highly resistant to physical attacks.
"I am the guardian, here to see the elf's remains are left alone!" The angel swings it's flaming greatsword twice at Jaan, connecting once. Although the flames do no harm to the suil, the blade does hurt.

Phosldon's arrows are not able to penetrate the Angel's thick armor, although one of the arrows manages to singe it a bit. Jaan manages to land one blow, which while less effective than he hoped, does manage to deliver it's acid.
It's pauses a moment with Kuwabara's insistence on parley. It's gaze goes over all of you. "You are not evil, why do you serve him?" Although the angel does not swing the blade again, it seems to ready a blow if it does not like the answer.

![]() |

"Who do you think we serve? we have been sent by the Pathfinder Society to reclaim these halls from evil! Right now it seems haunted by past wars waged against the dwarves!"

![]() |

Ellismus throws his arms out of his cloak in a grand gesture, revealing a pair of white wings. He spreads them wide, and stretches them. Then speaks:
"Grythyk, a great hero was buried here. A long time ago. You have performed a noble service, but this site has fallen to evil since then, and we wish to relocate her remains to a place of honor. All that is left here is death and rot and the lands outside are now overrun with warring orc tribes. No man nor dwarf nor elf remains. It has fallen. Unlike you. So follow your heart and see for yourself. Take a tour of the place. After that, if you feel like she should stay here forever and her deeds fade from history and unable to inspire anyone, then I will step aside, despite the pointlessness of it all, for surely the powers of Heaven have wisdom beyond understanding that transcends the facts that now stare us in the face."
Ellismus looks down, furious. "I don't know who these folks are over there, but they helped disable the traps in this room that got us here. I can't vouch for them, but I can vouch for my fellow Pathfinders here. And they do NOT serve Tar-Baphon! this one, even in today's modern age by your reckoning, is still trapped and held in check by Lastwall!"

![]() |

Kasei holds up his holy symbol. "No servant of Tar Baphon could serve the Lady Shizuru. Surely you know of the Empress of Heaven? This warrior has no talent for words, but you must believe us. It would be a grave injustice for there to be conflict between two servants of Heaven."
As he speaks, Kasei infuses his sword with holy energy to prove, as best he can, his bonafide connection to the forces of good. (Using the Good blessing to make his sword have a good aura.)
