Liberty's Edge

A charred orc corpse is hanging over a pool of redish black liquid (blood?). The pool, the corpse, and the accompanied shrine at the top of the stairs across the room give this room a grizzly atmosphere. The ceiling in this room is 20 feet high (double the height of previous rooms and passages), and there seem to be the remains of a number of bloodlessing and torture implements scattered around the altar.

Religion DC10:
Although most of the markings and symbols have been scratched, chipped, or crushed away, this looks to have long ago been a shrine dedicated to Torag. It seems to have been rededicated.

Religion DC15:
The new crudely carved symbols indicate this has more recently been used as a shrine to Nulgreth, the orc god of bloodlust and fighting.

The blood and the corpse seem to be covered in frost, half frozen, and running thicker than normal, pretty much what you would expect from freezing such things.

The crocodile steps into the room and stops without going to the body, but that move is enough, as a large swinging axe comes from the ceiling, nearly slicing the reptile in two pieces. It drops to the floor, as the blood flows out of it, mysteriously being sucked into the pool in the room. To make things even stranger, the axe itself seems to liquefy and seep from the ceiling, revealing a foul smelling brown-orange glob of slime with about a 10 foot diameter clinging to the wall just outside the staircase where the ceiling rises up. The ooze is 10 feet up, but it's tendrils seem to have no problem reaching to the floor.

Based on the ooze's actions, I don't think it matters, but I'm just curious to see if it's staggered or not... for tactical reaaaaasons... :) also, can we tell if it took -20 to grapple or if it's devoting itself entirely on Jaan? (because the grappled condition says "Grappled creatures cannot make attacks of opportunity" and the grab ability says "The creature has the option to conduct the grapple normally, or simply use the part of its body it used in the grab to hold the opponent. If it chooses to do the latter, it takes a –20 penalty on its CMB check to make and maintain the grapple, but does not gain the grappled condition itself")

Liberty's Edge

Room to the south...
Orcs’ sleep mats, broken weapons, and dirty clothes clutter the area. It looks like it has been some time since the orcs last stayed in this room, but it was tightly packed when they did sleep here.
The room beyond (second room to the south) looks to be similar, but the sleeping areas are more dispersed and had more padding.

You find lots of refuse, but nothing of actual value.
