Pretty much the same from me as Mr. Hammerfist. Will be driving but should be able to post once per night.
Merry Christmas, happy holidays and happy New Year everyone. Safe travels for any traveling.

@Hammerfist, After you head back to report, you can rest to heal your DEX damage.
@Ares, how you guys handle the loot is up to you as far as splitting, pooling, expenditures, ect...
@Reynaldo, you have found too much, other than all the coin, and a few other things.
I'll progress us to meeting with Devy in the morning. Let me know how much RP aspect you want. See, there ia quite a bit that can be done withing the town. I explain more tomorrow. Must get sleep now.

Since most of the loot is small sized this may be more for future reference regarding treasure and items.
I am interested in what others have done beyond the PFS "sell everything" method.
What I have seen in our RotRL AP is sell everything for half price but if anyone wants to keep an item they pay half to the party. Issues come up if there is a particular big/powerful item that should not be sold - then party decides who carries it. Also may want to buy a party wand of cure light wounds.
Any other methods work well? I just want to upgrade some equipment ( bow, armor) and was not sure of my budget.
GM Tektite |
After you talk with Devy, you will be another 500 gp for the party total and her son will offer to buy the bronze plaque for 100 gp.
Here is quick loot sheet. Depending, I think it breaks down to something like 718 gp ea.
Also, Belhaim is a small town with, population 388. Purchase limit 5000 gp, with a few items held by certain groups within town, which I'll get listed soon-ish,
GM Tektite |
What are you wanting Ares? They way I read the settlement rules-
Base Value and Purchase Limit: This section lists the community's base value for available magic items in gp. There is a 75% chance that any item of this value or lower can be found for sale in the community with little effort. If an item is not available, a new check to determine if the item has become available can be made in 1 week. A settlement's purchase limit is the most money a shop in the settlement can spend to purchase any single item from the PCs. If the PCs wish to sell an item worth more than a settlement's purchase limit, they'll either need to settle for a lower price, travel to a larger city, or (with the GM's permission) search for a specific buyer in the city with deeper pockets. A settlement's type sets its purchase limit.
If it is just masterwork, we'll just say the smithy's in town have those.

Also, I was going to ask, I thought I read someplace that multi-classing with the new beta classes had some limitations or restrictions.
Was that removed or did I misread it? I cannot find any restrictions on the guide. I thought it was strange when I first read it, so I probably missed something.

You can't multiclass with the parent classes. So, a Warpriest could not multiclass into Fighter or Cleric. (If I remeber the parent classes right for that.)

Only barely. Matched the CMD for a quadruped...
Hmmm, I just looked at the CMD and didn't add for the extra legs. Going back to the CRB.
If your attack exceeds the target's CMD, the target is knocked prone. If your attack fails by 10 or more, you are knocked prone instead. If the target has more than two legs, add +2 to the DC of the combat maneuver attack roll for each additional leg it has. Some creatures—such as oozes, creatures without legs, and flying creatures—cannot be tripped.
It didn't exceed, so I Lao isn't tripped. I think..
Lia the Huntress |
Hrm, so would this mean he can run past the other kobold?
Also, would the trip attempts provoke an AoO? Can never remember if those can only be taken when not your turn. If so... I get to nerf some monks next time I see them! ;-)
GM Tektite |
Well, they're just regular kobolds with guisarmes and don't have Improved Trip, so I guess Lao could take an AoO.
You can attempt to trip your opponent in place of a melee attack. You can only trip an opponent who is no more than one size category larger than you. If you do not have the Improved Trip feat, or a similar ability, initiating a trip provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver.

A quick note. The kobold lair encompasses the first chronicle. This one is weird in that when running in campaign mode, the expectation is all the chronicles get passed out at the very end.
To get the most benefit from the fourth bonus chronicle, you need to apply the the chronicles to a third level PC.
Pirate Rob may know what I'm talking about, but here is a link to John Compton talking about it, to clarify.

A quick (Well okay, maybe not so quick) summary (after double checking that thread) we get all the chronicle sheets after completing the entire module.
The three normal chronicle sheets are just like modules, encompass 3 levels, provide 3xp and 4PP:
p1: 1-3
p2: 3-5
p3: 5-7
If you choose to apply all 3 sheets to the same character you get an additional bonus sheet (also worth 3xp, 4pp) to apply at level 2, 4 or 6.
Assuming you apply all to the same character here's the possible results:
Character starts at level 1:
p1, Bonus sheet at 2, p3, leaving your character at level 4, with p3 pending for when you reach level 5.
Character starts at level 2:
p1, p2, bonus sheet at 4, p3, character reaches level 6 with all sheets assigned
Character starts at level 3:
p1, p2, p3, bonus sheet at 6, character reaches level 7 with all sheets assigned.
As a note the bonus sheet comes with significantly less gold than normal to help balance out the extra gold from "playing up".
Normal Wealth Distribution (Assuming playing only modules at the middle level)
lvl : wealth : total earned after leveling
1 : 1398 : 1398
2 : 1536 : 3943
3 : 3711 : 6645
4 : 4800 : 11445
5 : 6756 : 18201
6 : 8712 : 26913
DD starting at level 1:
Ending at level 4 with 7,336gp which is above the expected 6,645gp. After playing at level 4, and then applying p3 you end up at level 6 with 20,848 which is above the expected 18,201 by ~14.5%
DD starting at level 2:
Ending at level 6 with: 17,946 which is just below the expected 18,201 by ~1.4%
DD starting at level 3:
Ending at level 7 with 24486 which is below the expected 26913 by 9&
Stupid accounting and economics degrees, making me do all the math. There are of course other benefits from the bonus chronicle sheet, I don't know what they are though, I only read the gold amounts on the sheets.
I was originally planning on taking the sheets on different characters to both maximize my gold gain and avoid leveling 1 character a whole bunch without playing them. I think I've changed my mind though and now plan on putting them all on a level 2 who isn't really any good till level 5/6 anyway.

Purchasing MW Chain Shirt (250 gp), MW backpack (50), and the cloak Hammerfist is making takes care of the other item. = 300 gp
Selling Studded Leather (12.5 gp)
Reynaldo Li |
Purchases:
- MW studded leather (skin-tight, of course, LOL)
- MW buckler
- MW gladius (cold iron)
- weapon blanch: adamantine
Cost: 175 + 155 + 330 + 100 = 760 gp Ah, well, easy come, easy go. :-D
Selling studded leather and buckler
Return: 12.5 + 2.5 = 15 gp
w00t! I have 22 gp left! LOL

I was going to post this in my recruitment thread, but since it was sort of directed to Hammerfist, I figured I'd say it here, rather than potentially spoil something.
I really like the Confirmation, but I sort of wish the Chronicle was worded differently. In my mind, Master of the Fallen Fortress, First Steps 1, and Confirmation make a nice PC story arc.
