I threw Anis in right in front of me, he requested being second to last. Other than that I think we have our marching order. (Ygdnur - Hamailii - Gwion - Kuraishimo - Anis - Faldoc)

The party enters the door and sees the hallway goes about 20-30ft to right before ending in a door. To the left the hall goes for about five feet before it turns to the right. Attached to the north wall at this corridor junction is the relief carving of a giant face. The relief is that of a Qadiran man with a billowing beard. His eyes are closed, and his lips are parted, as if he were blowing out a flame. His lips frame a deep hole in the wall. The paint once adorning the relief is chipped and faded, but traces of its brilliant blues and pristine whites are still visible here and there. On the man’s forehead is a single Kelish word, carved in a flowing script.

As the last one in, Faldoc quietly takes a quick peek around the corner to the left and takes note of anything of interest in the area.
Stealth, if possible: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
I put myself at the corner on the map as I assume everyone else is near the door. Seems like a narrow hallway so I'm likely still rigt behind the group as a whole.
Hamailii D´Arquetai

I took the liberty to rearrange us on the map according to my understanding of the description here.
Hamailii looks at the face and the room interested.
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Anis Aniland

The gnome examines the face and tries to identify the word on it.
DC 5 Wis: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
What wrong conclusion did I draw? (I'm tempted to go with the standard "It's the name of a god"/"The object had some ritual purpose", but I'd hate to accidentally be right.)
Kuraishimo

Kuraishimo continues to remains alert, keeping an eye out for trouble.

Sorry for not posting over the weekend, crazy busy. I'm fine with what's happening, Ygdnur would be happy with where he is at.
Ygdnur takes a closer look at the rock face as well, using his stonecunning to try and find anything that he others maybe can't see.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 22

We seem to be in a large room now. Anything of note in there, other than the face in the wall? We could go check out the SW corner, seems to be a door there. Did I ever see anything around the corner and into the next room?
Kuraishimo

Kuraishimo continues to follow along those in front of him.

Ok, my bad. I read the post this weekend but did not check the map, we were gone most the weekend. It appears you chose left. The statue was back in the hall where you first came in. Moving on..
The stalwart adventurers turn left down the hall and quickly make another right into a larger room. This large room is dank, and a strange draft flows through it carrying with it a foul odor. Rubble is strewn here and there. A strange, slimy slick glistens down the western wall. Near the slick is a wooden door. The only sound in this room is a faint drip echoing from deeper in the dungeon.

The only sound in this room is a faint drip echoing from deeper in the dungeon.
Assuming you discount the sound of a gnome finishing his thought... "...that, and the ending, lead me to conclude that the word, and by extension, the face, is that of a god or perhaps demigod, which means that it must have had some ritual purpose..."
Ygdnur Copperhand
|
Listening to the gnome with some interest, Ygndur peers around the room. Looking at the slick coming down the wall, he calls out "Watch what you touch in here, that doesn't look very... healthy?" Ygndur steps gingerly around to the door, just in case any of the slick is on the floor near it.
Perception on Door: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Moved my guy to where I think he is supposed to be.

"If you plan on opening that door at least let me get into a better spot to cover you."
I've positioned myself on the map now that I'm confident we are in the right room.
Kuraishimo

Kuraishimo will move up to a better spot to help cover the door. Additionally he was draw a wand of shield and use it on himself.

H: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
S: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (13) - 5 = 8
As Ygdnur approaches the door, the slick on the wall suddenly peels off and begins attacking the dwarf.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d3 + 1 + 1d3 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (3) = 7
The creature's slimy pseudopod hits the dwarf, Ygdnur feels his skin burn where the creature touched him.

Slime
The party is up
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Ugh! Somebody knows what this slimy thing is?
Hamailii takes a step forward and lashes the whip at the creature, trying to knock it off it´s feet if it has some, if not substract 2 from the attack and just see if she hit.
Trip or attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 91d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Just saw you wrote slime, so can´t be tripped i think. Didn´t hit anyway.
Anis Aniland

The gnome remains where he is, uncertain if it is safe to approach the blob.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7, Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
After some thought, he decides to stay back and 'encourage' the party from a distance. Casting bless. Does this bump Hamailii's attack up to 10?
20/20 rounds remaining on bless.
Faldoc Tisbane

Not really having anything better to try I'll attempt to slash at the "arm" that struck our friend.
Longsword: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Wow, doesn't matter who rolls for Faldoc, he can't crack double digits.
Kuraishimo

Knowledge Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Unsure what the creature is Kuraishimo will cast Rime-Frostbite, more around to a flanking position and attempt to touch the ooze.
1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 + 1 = 17 (Atk+Bless)
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Non-lethal damage and it is fatigued, and for 1 round it is entangled.
A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.
An entangled creature moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.
AC Currently 21, assuming I had time to use the wand
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Hamaillii's whip attack hits either way, but you can't trip it, so..6 pts non-lethal damage.
Also, Anis, you need a Knowledge Dungeoneering check to get any info
Hamailii is using a scorpion whip, so it´s lethal damage.
Ygdnur Copperhand

"AAAAH! It's burning me!" Ygdnur reaches out with his hammer, swinging wildly as he screams.
Power Attack
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 - 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 = 13
| GM Tektite |
Anis casts a spell and the party feels bolstered.
Gwion fires an arrow and strikes the edge of the slime.
Hamaillii lashes out with her wicked looking whip and see parts of slime tear off for her effort.
Ygdnur retaliates with his hammer and smashes the slime, sending gelatinous spray everywhere. The slime ceases moving.
Out of Combat
Sorry Hamaillii, I was going to check the type of whip and forgot to do it. Kuraishimo, you can keep that spell since the thing was killed before we got to your turn. I am sort of thankful that, I was trying last night to figure out how a amoeba would react to being fatigued and like -5 Dex and entangled. :0
Ygdnur Copperhand
|
Ygdnur will pop open one of his cure light wound potions.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Woah! I'm liking my rolls right now. Statistically I should run and hide the next time we fight...
After fully curing himself, Ydgnur pokes at the slime with his hammer. "What in the hell... Well I for one am ready to move on. No use hanging around this thing." Ygdnur moves towards the door.
I rolled perception on the door earlier but the door earlier but got attacked before I could get anything on it. So does he notice anything before he opens it?
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
What a nasty thing! I´m only glad it didn´t touch me!
Hamailii whispers some words and makes a gesture as if pouring some water over something. Promptly some water emerges from nowhere, removing much of the slimy leftovers. She then looks out if there was something else in the slime.
My fault, should write scorpion whip next time.
Kuraishimo
|
"Yuck! This slime is disgusting"
says Kuraishimo as he tries to wipe slime splash off of his jacket.
| GM Tektite |
Ygdnur finds nothing unusual about the door, though it is a little stuck. It takes a little dwarfhandling to finally get it to budge. Inside he see a small room with three doors down a narrow hall. This cramped chamber stinks of something worse than rotten eggs. A black mildew covers the walls and the three doors that lie beyond the entrance. Each has a small metal slot at its bottom, but the latched covers long ago rusted away.
Ygdnur Copperhand
|
Ygdnur backs away from the repugnant odor. "There's more goop on the walls, though I don't know that it's the same as before. I don't have the use of magic, can someone check this stuff to see if it's the same? Have caution, though. It packed a wallop when it hit me!" He holds his warhammer up, ready to pounce at the first hint of trouble.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Hamailii checks the rooms for anything magic and other suspicious things, casting detect magic.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
This looks much like cells. Should we open them?
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Coughing, Hamailii quickly steps out of the area.
I moved Ygdnur, so maybe he is not sickened, only Hamailii, since i´m not sure if he wanted to go in there.
Kuraishimo
|
Kuraishimo will help pull Hamailii out of the area.
Ygdnur Copperhand
|
Sorry, I couldn't move myself when I said that Ygdnur moved back. I would have taken about a 5 ft step away from the door. However, if you want me to feel sickened I'll roll with it. Any sort of saves that we can roll for this?
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Actually i think this is my fault, i read your post wrong because i was reading too fast and with only half an eye, so i thought you moved into there ready to fight.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
This mildew is really bad, the air inside there makes you feel sick. Still there might be something important inside. Perhaps it´s a spawning place for slime monsters.
Should i now worry about Hamailii? Will she turn into something else later because she is infected? Or maybe something growing inside of her later coming out? hehehe
Anis Aniland
|
"Is there anything I could fish out in there?" asks the gnome, peering cautiously into the hall and as much of the cells as he can see from the doorway.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Are there any loose items that look like they weigh five pounds or less within sight? He'll use mage hand on the most interesting - grabbing the keys to the cells hung neatly on a hook would be ideal, but he'll take what he can get.
Gwion Bach
|
"Stand back lads & lasses!" Gwion takes a deep breath and darts into the small area in the back of the room. He holds his breath as long as he is able, searching the small rooms in turn.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
I'm OK with breathing in when holding my breath is no longer a possibility...no need for the little fella to pass out!
Faldoc Tisbane
|
Faldoc will keep an eye out for any movement that could come into the area while the rest of the group is fixated on the small corridor. "Do you truly believe that anything useful is going to be found within a few prison cells? If you're going to search, be quick about it. I'd rather not stay still for long."
| GM Tektite |
Gwion makes a mad dash into the small room, while holding his breath. He sees three sets of doors and with a little effort is able to shoulder them all open. Gwion sees that the two closest cells are empty, while the last one in the rear of the room contains a humanoid skeleton with tattered clothing. Gwion is only able to catch a quick glance before rushing back out the his companions and sucking in a deep chestful of air.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Ygdnur, dwarves are renowned for their hardiness, you think you could hold your breath and drag that skeleton out there? I think we should search it, perhaps it has something important or hides some of that papyri we are supposed to find.
