Fine, I think we have enough quests for one night. At least we should earn a good rate in gold if we survive to collect.
Think I'm ready, we can move on once everyone is prepared.

GM Tektite |

The party retires back to the Lodge for the evening, sleeping off the effects of the plum wine. The following morning, the group rises early and makes their way north out of the city. The party finds travel to the site to be arduous; the terrain is rocky and marred with the scars of millennia of wars, making it thirsty work for the heros to get to their destination, but they encounter no resistance. The directions they have lead to a small gully; at the end of the gully, about fifteen feet above the ground on a cliff face, is an ancient, ironbound door. Its wood is dried and cracked. Directly in front of the door is a steep slope of rubble and dust-crusted debris that, as luck would have it, provides a path—albeit a rough and difficult one—right up to the door.

That doesn´t look much like the castle i imagined. As far as i see are two ways to get there. Either from the ground or we go up on that cliff and rope down. Someone got a rope?

![]() |

"Look up there! Something has already noted our arrival." Faldoc tries to indicate to the group where he saw the shadowy figure scamper.
Is there any chance to get a shot off on the creature before he runs off?

![]() |

Kurashimo speaks:
"I do indeed possess a rope, but I don't believe going all the way around and climbing down is an efficient solution. Let us however look before we leap."
Kuraishimo will proceed to check the rubble for "traps" 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7 (Perception) before casting detect magic towards the door.

![]() |

Hamailii looks at what the half-fiend is looking for.
What are we exactly looking for? And where is that something you mean Faldoc? I didn´t see anything and, come on, i´m an elf.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

![]() |

The gnome slowly unpacks something, clearly oblivious to whatever Faldoc saw. His pack seems to have twice as many clasps and knots as any other pack, judging by how many he undoes. "I can one-up the devil-man. My rope's got a grapple on it. We won't even need someone to climb up and secure a rope up top."

![]() |

Kurashimo thinks to himself: Is the large nosed buffoon a jerk or just a fool?

GM Tektite |

As the group decides how to enter the keep..suddenly you see figure scramble atop the cliff and jump down to the party. It is a woman and you hear her say “How long will it take you all to cure, I wonder? You seem so full of life, and I am oh so hungry.” She moves in a herky jerky fashion and her skin appears sallow and her face gaunt.
Anyone wearing anything that identifies them as a Pathfinder?

![]() |

Don´t go about that so hastily, Minstrel.
To the woman:
So who are you and why do you think we need to be cured?
Looking her up and down what she might be and can do, or if there are any obvious weaknesses. While speaking Hamailii also circles her, positioníng herself 15 feet away from her and unremarkable readies her whip.
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

![]() |

Faldoc fixes an arrow on the woman, ready to fire at the slightest aggressive action she might take. "Still think there was nothing to be seen, my dear?", looking at Hamailii with an I told you so smirk across his face. Proud purebreed thinks she's better than me, huh? Well, being the best of two races can often be better than all the traits of one, lady.
Faldoc takes a quick glance at Hamailii as she slowly circles our visitor. However, there is a certain beauty to behold in a purebred elf. I'll give her that.
I am trying to determine if this is definitely the shape we had seen just moments earlier. I'll make an effort to see if there are any others around watching us as the group questions our friend.

![]() |

Do we? I´m not aware of any items or gear that identifies one as a pathfinder, so i guess at least not me.
A visible wayfinder or an object with the Society's symbol on it (I think the symbol's called the Glyph of the Open Road) are the only things I can think of. Aniland has neither.
The gnome stands, open-mouthed with his grappling hook clutched in one hand, clearly not expecting the sudden arrival of whoever or whatever just jumped down. A gnomish oath is all that passes his lips as he frantically racks his brain.

Kurashimo's Bracers feature the Ankh of the Silver Crusade.
Kurashimo studies the creature, hand on the hilt of his rapier, but not yet drawn.

GM Tektite |

Glancing around at the party the woman's eye alight on Kuraishimo's bracers. "The Silver Crusade! Friends, it is I, Maurit Zergo, a Pathfinder as well, even in this horrid form. I can help you, if you will take the help of someone as damned as I.” She seems to ignore the others questions, focusing on Kuraishimo
None of you can tell anymore about her, other than what has already been said..sunken eyes, gaunt face, and sallow skin.

![]() |

The ambush you know is not an ambush anymore. If she calls the silver crusade friends, she can´t be that bad. At least give her a chance to prove herself. We all remember what we were asked too, but untill there is proof of that conditions we should be careful. Even then it is probably wiser to find out what we can before taking rash options. Your effort is appreciated Master Bach, but all at the right time please.
Hamailii eyes the bard very serious, then turns to Kuraishimo, trying to give him a sign.
Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

![]() |

Kurashimo remembers what the Silver Crusade told him, if he didn't behave they'd basinsh him to the World Wound, and now Hamailii wants me remove her guts and find out what's inside of her. Explore, Report, Cooperate the Society said.
Kurashimo delays to see what the creature does.

![]() |

"Enough bickering about the definition of an ambush, friends. Our devilish companion seems to have attracted her admiration for one reason or another. Perhaps we might learn something if we just listened."
Faldoc still keeps up his guard, scanning the area over agaoin for more visitors.
Perception, if appropriate at this time: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Gwion's arrow fires forth and strikes Maurit in the side, she hisses and bares fangs. She begins to stalk forward, with a clawed hand, at Ygdnur.

Ygdnur is up!
Maps are at the top of the page. Faldoc, Anis and Kuraishimo, would you mind putting your essential stats in your Gender Field. It makes it a lot easier. Just check the others for examples.

![]() |

Ygdnur grunts when the halfling lets his arrow fly. "Well, guess we'll never know what's what. Have at you!" Lifting his warhammer Ygdnur moves to a position that will allow for the possibility of a flank.

![]() |

Just capture her! We can still get that information and we probably need it!
Trip: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18
Hamailii lashes out with her whip towards the creatures feet.
FYI +2 from trip weapon special quality.
And looking at that map i see you didn´t move me from my before post, so she would of course move into a position where the target does not have soft cover, what is probably only possible if moving up 2 north and nobody flanks with Ygnur or moving up 3 north and 1 northwest.

![]() |

Faldoc just remains still, aiming for the creature's head. I wish we'd make up our minds what the hell we're doing. I still don't like being out here longer that we need to be.
I will ready my standard action (attack).

GM Tektite |

Ygdnur swings and misses the cursed woman. While Kuraishimo and Gwion delay, trying to find the perfect opening, Hamaillii moves up, uncoiling her whip. The whip lashes out and wraps around Maurit's leg, with a quick tug from the elf, Maurit is on the ground.

![]() |

I was aware I could post. I truly want to hold my action since there seems to be a debate on whether we kill or subdue this creature. Faldoc is still suspicious that there are other enemies lurking about.

![]() |

"Gwion, she's down, no need to take her out just yet. Someone subdue her!"
I know it's out of order, but if it's allowed I will try and grapple her since I'm right there. Also, I don't know how to grapple, just 1d20 and my CMB? I'll roll it and correct me if I'm wrong.
Grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
And it might not matter because I'm just going to keep rolling crappy.

![]() |

Allright Maurit, tell us what happened to you and what awats inside this keep, speak fast, it might be your last chance!
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Added stats
Kuraishimo will draw his rapier and ready to step forward and strike the creature should she attack. "Stay down!"

GM Tektite |

Maurit, obviously in a rage now that she has been wounded and pulled to the ground, stands and, growling and hissing. She goes for Ygdnur, her claw raking down his arm.
Claw Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Claw Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Ygdnur takes 6 damage and needs to roll a Fort. Save. Anyone within reach gets an AoO. Everyone after Maurit can go, Gwion's posted next action and Yg's grapple either fails or is lost if the save fails.

![]() |

To hell creature!
1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 161d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Hamailii moves into a flanking position, dropping the whip which is fastened to a weapon cord and drawing her morning star, bringing it down with both hands on the former Pathfinder.

![]() |

Aniland half drops, half throws the grappling hook in his desperate haste to put someone else's body between himself and whatever Maurit has become. The rope he dropped is now marked on the map by the curved arrow.
"daglots’ot’ am shenni khelqumbara" he shouts with uplifted hand. Casting Bless. Everyone (except Maurit, obviously) gets +1 to attack and saves vs. fear for the next 2 minutes.
He then awkwardly draws his longspear and points it in Maurit's direction.

GM Tektite |

Kuraishimo swings at Muarit and misses.
Anis blesses the party.
Ygdnur tries to grapple Muarit, but she fends him off.
Gwion fires another arrow and hits again, but the arrow looks like it did little damage.
Hamailli moves to flank and smashes her morningstar down on Maurit's shoulder
Initiative:
Ygdnur
Kuraishimo
Gwion
Faldoc
Hamaillii
Maurit
Anis
Kuraishimo and Faldoc both have an action before Maurit.

![]() |

Aiming for the head to smash it in, Hamailii brings down the morningstar again.

I believe I drew my rapier and readied and attack, which I think should have gone off.

GM Tektite |

I believe I drew my rapier and readied and attack, which I think should have gone off.
You did and it was accounted for, this is the next round. I didn't adjust initiative order, that I was thinking you had an action yet.
Initiative:
Ygdnur
Gwiom
Hamaillii
Muarit
Kuraishimo
Anis
Faldoc
So Faldoc has action from round one if he wants to take it, otherwise I'll post Maurit's layer this evening
