Faldoc Tisbane

Or perhaps its just someone who passed on while in a prison cell. Do you really think it wise to disturb the dead, especially after the warning we received and how our lovely welcoming committee treated us? Let me get my sword out, just in case, I know there won't be any stopping this idea.
Faldoc will draw his weapon and stand back from the door. He's had enough surprises for one day.
Kuraishimo
|
Kuraishimo responds: "Who know what treasures or knowledge might be hidden on the body. Is it not our duty as Pathfinders to overcome a bit of mildew to recover it?"
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
It totally is. It also is our duty to possibly find out who that was and then report it. For all we know this person could have been another Pathfinder and we need to secure it´s transition into the afterlife.
Hamailii holds her breath and tries to drag the skeleton out there with all it´s possesions.
Ygdnur Copperhand
|
Sorry, I totally read the comment to me and forgot to post!
Ygdnur smiles at the compliment, taking pride in his dwarfishness. But in taking too long to prepare for the task the elf went in ahead of him. Ygdnur now felt shamed. He held his position with warhammer drawn.
Faldoc Tisbane
|
Yes, yes, by all means. Perhaps you are right. Faldoc stands watch while to party secures the body and drags it out for inspection.
| GM Tektite |
Hamaillii takes a deep inhalation of damp dungeon air and dashes into the last cell, grabbing the skeleton. She turns and moving as fast as she can drags the skeleton back to the party, leaving a trail of metacarpals and metatarsals along the way. Returning to the party she inhales deeply. As the party examines the morbid pile at their feet, you all see bones, tattered clothing and a letter tucked into a pocket. The letter’s paper is brittle and browned with age. Its broken seal features a kirin
flying amid three clouds. Across the page is scrawled various symbols and pictographs.
Anis Aniland
|
Unless anyone tries to stop him, the gnome snatches the letter and tries to read it.
If needed:

Gwion looks over the letter. "Two sticks of butter...three cups of flour...one tablespoon of honey... No longer able to suppress his smile he continues. "I have no idea! We were sent here to find trade agreements, and those are usually written on paper. Lets just take back whatever we find and let that tall fellow sort it all out."
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
This animal here looks very unfamiliar. If you ask me it is probably something from Tian Xia, where else do they have such creatures?
Hamailii says still coughing and visibly disgusted by the dirt and mildew.
Did i see or hear something about such a creature before?
Knowldge Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
I really need more knowledge skills! Never thought those are so much fun before.
Kuraishimo
|
Apparently I didn't put my languages on my online sheet, Kuraishimo speaks: Common, Infernal, Abyssal, Tien, Draconic, Dwarven & Orc; adding to his sheet now.
"Perhaps I might be able to help, most of my time on this plane has been spent in Minata after all."
| GM Tektite |
Yeah, I noticed that, but figured it was a pretty safe bet that Tien was one of them.
Kuraishimo examines the letter and finds that it is a letter of introduction. The letter introduces the ambassador as Xeng Li, and describes the gift to Taliq Asad—a jade katana, a representation of the Li family’s honor and its ties to House Asad.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
There we go, already one step closer. Now we only need to actually find the katana. We could bury this one later, along with the former Pathfinder outside.
Which direction next? maybe let´s have a look around that corner there!
With these words, Hamailii already moves to take a look around the next corner.
See move on map. Languages are really cool in PFS, just like knowledge skills. I really like that.
Faldoc Tisbane
|
Slow down, my elven friend. Let's not walk right into another slime creature, or worse.. I will move to where I've placed myself on the map, bow in hand ready to fire if needed.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
After that noise we just made, anything here would have already come for us or fled somewhere else.

Led by Hamaillii, the party moves west into the next chamber. Cracked and crumbling frescos line the walls of this large empty room. The sections of the frescos not destroyed by the passing ages show Qadiran men engaged in battle. A rough stone tunnel leads off to the northwest, as if the
ground simply cleft in two ages ago. A pile of bones rests just inside the passage. As the group approaches, suddenly the pile of bones begins to move and the party sees a skeleton rise and begin to stalk toward them.

Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Now that surely wasn´t worse or slimy, more dusty. Probably you are right though, we should be more careful. Not much behind those bones though. This place seems to have an undead infestation. We need to clean it out. Any signs what or who this skeleton was before?
Anis Aniland
|
That was anticlimactic.
"If there's nothing to see here, we should hurry on. Hamailii, do you want any healing?"
If anyone wants to poke around, Aniland will mage hand parts of the skeleton while they do it. Look at me, I'm a necromancer!
Faldoc Tisbane
|
This is assuming Anil does his "mage hand" trick.
Faldoc stares at Anis, a look of bewilderment on his face. Is it not bad enough that whoever this poor soul once was had to be reanimated by some vile evil? You do not need to add to its disgrace with your silly games. Leave it be, and be silent about it as well. After saying his peace toward Anil he turn to the party and attempts to get them back into marching order by gesturing with his arms and hands. Let's keep moving before another surprise comes along.
Why does everybody have to touch every corpse we come across? Let's just find this katana or whatever it is and leave this unpleasant tomb.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Hamailii lays a hand on Faldoc´s shoulder, smiling at him.
Don´t worry, i´m sure those bones don´t mind, but are more happy about being freed. Let´s move along. You may go first if you wish. I will be right behind you. Or do you want me to go first?
With those words she takes Faldoc´s hand and drags him along into the small corridor north.
Kuraishimo
|
Kuraishimo will continue on with the group, glad that he was not needed to fight the undead.
Anis Aniland
|
North small hallway, the one we're moving into on the map.
Aniland opens his mouth, about to make a racy quip about Hamailii dragging Faldoc into the next room, then thinks better of it (a highly atypical thing for him), stands with his mouth agape briefly, then follows.
Faldoc Tisbane
|
North sounds good.
Disarmed by the elf-woman's words, Faldoc will follow Hamailii into the corridor, bow at the ready. If he can he will try to scout ahead with his eyes for anything out of place.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Geez, perhaps Hamailii can start rolling dice for me too.
| GM Tektite |
The corridor the party moves into is narrow, only wide enough for a single file movement. You see doors on each side of the hallway and at the at the end of this corridor sits a sinister-looking fountain in a rounded alcove. A four-headed hydra, displayed in cross formation, protrudes from the middle of the rounded wall. The hydra’s heads all face directly down the hallway. Its top head’s mouth is firmly shut, its socketed eyes staring darkly down the corridor, and its head fin is flared and up. On that head fin, a single Kelish word is carved into the stone. The other three heads have toothy mouths open wide and reclined head fins; these obviously served as spouts for the fountain. Just below the mouths is a ceramic basin. The basin has been dry for many long centuries now.
Faldoc Tisbane
|
Shall we try this door, my lady? Perhaps someone could give it a once-over before we barge in. Faldoc looks to the others in the group, hopeful someone with some type of skill in these matters may come forward.

You've got the second highest Perception in the party (I think), so you've a better chance of finding mundane traps than most of us.
The gnome mutters mystical syllables, waggles his fingers, then stares quizzically down the hallway.
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Hamailii spends a very long time watching everything intently.
We can take one of the doors, but wait a moment. I don´t like the look of that hydra, something seems odd here.
If i only knew what´s written there.
Take 20 on perception for 32.

Hamailii D´Arquetai

I think this statue is trapped. There seems to be a switch in the mouth of the top head. Someone knoes how to handle something like that?
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
I´m wondering about the stuff here. At the entracne was also something with writings on it. Either this is some sort of hommage or defensive mechanisms. What might trigger them?
Perhaps let´s open the first one to the left first, the westchamber. Who wants to go first? Are you ready? We will see then if opening a door triggers something.
| GM Tektite |
STR: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Hamaillii tries to push the door on the left open, at first it doesn't budge, but the elf puts her shoulder into it and the door flies open. Looking in, the party sees rubbish and black mold choke the far end of the chamber. The slightest movement kicks up dust and spores, choking the stagnant and already foul-smelling air.
Kuraishimo
|
"Ugh, more spores, why does it have to be spores."
Hamailii D´Arquetai
|
Hamailii disgustedly checks the room if she can see something, a hint of the jade katana or some papers or anything else.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
This place urgently needed a cleaning. I´m willing to lend a hand to take care of skeletons, but this is not my area of expertise.
| GM Tektite |
Hamaillii walks into the room, checking for papers and swords. She does not find either, but begins to notice a dull glow start up in the northwest corner of the room. Suddenly, three large beetle-like creatures with two glowing green-yellow spots on their carapaces come bursting out of the rubbish, heading straight for Hamaillii.

Holy crap! Have a busy weekend and miss almost 30 posts!
Ygdnur goes along with the group, room to room. When the undead pops out, he just about readies his swing and is once again shown up by the elf. Ygdnur is now having a very bad dwarf day. Allowing the others to peer around the room, he sits ready with his hammer, stewing in his own self pity, waiting for the next bad guy to pop out for a little game of whack-the-undead.
EDIT:Ninja'd! Readied attack if it even makes it down the line...
