    scenario rant:
    Tell me about it. This scenario is a bookkeeping nightmare. And I hate the way it is laid out. I wish they just listed the rumors at each place rather than putting them all on a separate page and making you roll for them. And even with that little tracking sheet they give you, I still got kinda lost and just starting throwing in the Encounters that have to happen to move the story as I saw fit.

    I love investigation and RP scenarios and I really had high hopes for this one but being close to finishing it as the GM, I have really grown to dislike it. Assault on the Wound was a bit opposite; I hated it at first but now that I have the Mass Combat thing down I'm starting to get into it a bit more. Except for the fact that Assault is way too long by the time everyone figures out how to do the Mass Combat stuff efficiently.

    Khamul follows Rayne to the farm. "You'll tell us what you know and let us look around, right?" He leans his scythe forward and makes sure his hood is pulled down low enough to leave his pale face in shadow.

    The party heads out to Otto's farm and this time, they have more luck getitng the man to talk, Rayne's prescence intimidating the powerfully built, clean-shaven man in his late thirties. "Eh...ok, I'll show you around. Follow me, then you can look around yourselves."

    He then walks you around his property, and relates that he had come out before dawn to feed his chickens when he spotted the victim (a young man) hanged and swinging from a tree. Otto is very insistent about the man having been naked, though he clarifies a moment later that the corpse wasn’t simply without clothes. It had been skinned—skinned alive, according to Otto’s estimation. He then leaves you to let you have a look around.

    Survival DC 14:
    You notice (Medium) humanoid tracks leading to and from Dawnton, as well as some blood on the ground.

    If you make the above, Heal or KN: nature DC 15:
    You recognize that there is not nearly enough blood for the victim to have died here.

    Perception DC 18 (16 if you make the above survival):
    You find a small button on the ground.

    If you make the above, Appraise or KN: local DC 12:
    You realize that the style and material of the button is atypical for the region, suggesting its owner is not from the region.

    Toshi is stumped at the dilemma of "pretend to not speak Taldane" and "communicate with this guy who only speaks Taldane," though he assumes applying a Gokan accent isn't going to help. Because Tien-Min certainly won't work. Heck, only one PFS scenario I know of even references the sub dialects. At least its justified with the whole Lung Wa history.

    Opening the front door, you see an entry hall with a set of stairs, to your left and right, leading to the second story. At the end of the hall, opening on the north and south lead to sunken rooms. Searching, the first floor appears empty.
