He enters the door and detect magic around the place, expecting Nessian to be Invisible.

If I was at -3 and got 8 hp from Arilak shouldn't I be at 5 hp?


We're both wrong. You went to -2, then spent two rounds not stabilizing, which dropped you to -4. On Round 3, you got 8 point, taking you to 4 (not 3 or 5).

soory for my delayed posting... I was at work last night and injured my back... getting around is a little rough


Harlynne must stand, so that's a move action. Plus, she is attempting to move 35', so won't get all the way there, and when she does she'll be at normal defense, not total defense.

Nessian's Improved Feint: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Nessian's flail attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Nessian's damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

The celestial hound leads the way up the stairs. It alerts and leaps forward with a snarl, but Nessian is ready. The crimelord smashes the poor summoned creature with his flail, crushing its skull against the wall. With a piteous yelp, it fades back into the celestial realms. The crimelord wavers and blurs as if covered by a thick, unseen veil.

Jake hustles up the stairs, driving Nessian back. With a powerful thrust of his greatsword, he pierces the would-be crime lord's heart, killing him instantly.

Later, the Pathfinders find the ancient Taldan code book, ending the threat of the Silent Tide for all time.

Conclusion

Though few will be aware of your bravery, by stopping the Silent Tide, you have saved Absalom from a potentially devastating attack. Better still, you have have brought Nessian and his War Hounders to justice.

You have the thanks of Yargos and his friends, and they ensure that the Pathfinders' reputation within the Puddle District is deservedly enhanced. Yargos will prove to be a friend and ally that you can rely upon in the future. Finally, Grandmaster Torch may prove to be a valuable future business contact.
