Wymond takes the time resting to pray and ensure he and the rest of the party are in prime fighting condition using Lay on Hands. Then he takes advantage of Jharun's work to take a bath of his own after Jharun's finished, while Jharun looks over his gear, especially his gambeson, which definitely has some tears from the hits he took. Once that's done, he gets a cooking fire going and starts making some supper for the group.

Juggling the newly acquired token while she paces around the room.
Frizz thinks aloud.
"Should we go back to wallop that mudman? Or see what the next level holds?" She glances to Jharun and pauses her pacing to explain. "There was a level of the spire that was flooded and we all almost died fighting a mudman."

I vote we head back to mudman from this level to see if the angle can be worked. Also, Perf... :(

Technically the mudman was upstairs...and I actually thought we could try to find the stairs and attack the enemies up there from the other end. It may mean we face that floor's "boss" first, but if we were able to beat what was down here with only one casualty, I imagine we'll be able to clean house relatively well.

"Fellows" says Perfire, "Having defeated Klarkosh and rescued Jharun, I feel my time has come to leave. I feel it in my bones that if I remain I shall die here. I'm glad Jharun is here to take over my duties."

"Jharun, before I go, take a look at my spellbook. Copy anything you like."

Wymond's countenance falls when Perfire makes his announcement.

"Are...are ye gonna stay close? Like, with the Goldfires at Thornkeep? It'd be nice to visit ye when we come back at least, and they can help ye master yer magic."

"For a little while, yes. But eventually I think I'm going home."

Frizz's jaw slacks before turning to a frown. "Awww, Perf! We've been close to dying for sure but even dying. Ol' Wymmie even died and we got him back!" she purses her lips in thought. "But I guess becoming a dwarf..." Frizz stops before glancing at Wymond then back to Perfire. "I get it."

Will definitely level up soon. Exciting!

"For a little while, yes. But eventually I think I'm going home."

"Down south? Back to the bloody Chels?! Thought your whole reason for comin' here was to get away from them."

"I've got friends there. And family. They need me."

perhaps we should use the device in order to bring your friend back home safely and report my return and the loss of my friend. I think it the right thing to do. We will find her later. If I survived as I did she may too.

Wymond nods.

"'The first gift ye ever receive is yer family,' Erastil says. I can respect that. I'll miss ye, though. Ye've been a true friend. Now then, soup's on! Let's eat an' get some shut-eye a'fore returnin' topside."

Frizz's mind drifts a bit as she watches Wymond stir the soup...

I wonder what would happen if I stirred like that with my sickle once it entered something... she ponders to herself.

She settles in with a full belly for a good nights rest.

Now Jharun rubs his spellbook a bit and settles in and does his preparation of spells for the next day his mind once more bending to the task of memorizing his spells his face could be said to be joyful concentration.

Everyone is rested and ready. You use the Spire Token to take Perfire to the surface, where he says his good-byes.

Now what?

Shall we go meet with our mutual employer to tell her about my rescue and continued attempts to learn more?

Wymond gives Perfire a firm hug, and Triath nuzzles him warmly before they part, the boar now standing a full head taller than Perfire himself.

He nods when Jharun suggests returning to Thornkeep.

"I'd say so...Thornkeep may not be the most neighborly town, but at least they respect the River Freedoms, an' aren't right bastards to Triath and Slagh! Bloody Hellknights!"

Triath responds with a cautioning grunt.

"Aw, have some more self-respect, Triath! I know ye don't mind being stabled, but they didn't have to be so rude about it!"

Frizz waves a tearful goodbye to Perfire.

What are your goals in Thornkeep?

Frizz has no agenda.

We're largely reporting back to the Goldenfire Order that we found Jharun and he's okay, and I suppose we'll need to also go to Fort Inevitable to report our discoveries on Klarkosh's level to Royst.

keep Frizz out of the worse of trouble and make my report to the order and buy some new clothes and find my new cat animal companion

Man, we're gonna have a MENAGERIE comin' along with us!

Frizz ears perk up and her head snaps in the direction of Jharun.
"Uhhhhhh, what did you just say?!? DidYouSayWeWereGoingToFindYouACatCompanion?LikeAFluffyFurryCuddlyKittenToAd ventureWithUs?DoYouThinkItWillLetMeRideItOrSnuggleIt?Oh,AndI'veNeverHadToPa tchUpACatBeforeButIReadThisVeterinaryBookAboutTheseGlandsOnACat..." she says in a excited flurry of words.

Wymond arches an eyebrow at Frizz.

"He didn't say ANYTHING, Frizz!"

In character, at least. :P

Triath gives a chuckling-sounding grunt.

"oh..." Frizz says sheepishly.

She glances around the forest on their way back to civilization and stops short.

"Sometimes. I think I hear things but they're not there. But I know they are... I think it's the First World." she says in a whisper before carrying on merrily.

Rebecca walks up and holds hands with Frizz swinging the hand back and forth and passing a small bottle up to Frizz as if it was only a flower and continues to walk along.

Frizz accepts the bottle without a second thought.

"Oh?! Thanks!" she says giving the bottle look over and preparing to drink the contents, because, ya know, that's what you do when passed a bottle.

Wymond's eyebrow remains raised at Rebecca's behavior, but he doesn't say anything. He was used to running with animals smarter than him. Triath was one of them.

The town of Thornkeep, place of Wymond's rebirth, is a dismal and lawless place ruled over by a grasping and indifferent baron, but it is at least free of Hellknights. No one troubles the armed party of dwarf, halfing, elf, man, troglodyte and menagerie that strides into town on one sunny morning, but many eye your expensive gear and valuable armor with envious gazes.

Jharun leads the team to the tower of the Goldenfire Order, where you are welcomed with happy surprise by Iliara Starcloak. "Jharun! You've returned! Blessings of Nethys! But what befell you and where is Tiawask?"

Thank you Lady. Tiawask and myself were attacked by clockwork creatures and worn down and she escaped deeper into the Spire while I was taken prisoner to lanquish until the help you sent arrived in the closest of moments of time to rescue me Jharun says with a smile and a slight bow

"And we already walloped them robits so they won't bother us again when we go back there!" Frizz adds to the end of Jharun's statement.

"Aye," Wymond says with a nod. "Also, Perfire 'ere was thinkin' about workin' with you folks a bit, get a better handle on his spells before returnin' to Cheliax...which'd mean he'd be leaving our little group."

"Deeper into the Spire? Then there -is- something deeper. Curious."

"You shall rest here until you are ready, but my offer still stands - a bounty for the return of Tiawask or certain news of her fate. And you have earned the bounty for Jharun's return. I shall have it ready by morning."

"Speaking of bounties. Bring me news of any portal technology you find there and I shall reward you." Practically, this means a reward for three pieces of research about the dungeon’s portals.

"Now then, Perfire, is it? I am in need of students at the moment, so as you have rescued one of our own, the Goldenfire Order welcomes you."

Wymond gives the others a knowing look.

"Well, I know one thing we should probably take a closer look at. Though Jharun may wanna waterproof his spellbooks an' such before we do..."

"Oooooh! The mudman level! There were those portals and such. We should get some way to breath underwater. I bet Jharun could give us magical gills or something. Couldn't ya Jharun?" Frizz says.

I can cast a spell to allow us to breathe underwater and of course I will be coming with you with your leave Lady? Jharun says

"Of course. I want you to help find Tiawask!"

"I can let you have potions of water breathing at cost."

So, instead of the typical 11 gp, The Goldenfire Order will let you have up to five at a cost of 5.5 gp each.

"That'll be handy, milady. Thank ye kindly!" Wymond says.

"Thanks lady!" Frizz says with a grin as she heads toward the door.

Do you buy some? And what now?

Frizz buys a potion for herself and will buy for anyone else that's new character broke.

Jharun will buy a two potions of water breathing which is cheaper potions or scrolls of healing?

Scrolls are always cheaper, but less universally useful.

I would suggest we use some of the group money to buy potions of healing and spread them throughout the group. Jharun says sagely.

"Aye, smart thinking," Wymond says.

How are we going to get around the fact that we're technically down a member? I don't wanna look like a jerk by buying enough potions for the group minus Lukas though he's still technically there...

We'll have Lilika back. So ah bleeve we're ready. Doing anything else in town? If not, someone head us back, please.

So...? Somebody do sumthin'!

Frizz adjusts her bag with its new weight on her shoulder as she prepares to head back to the Spire.
