NGL, when I was making a submission to this game, I came >< this close to submitting a fighter with a heavy dose of Cleric Dedication, based on seeing that at work in your Fighter guide.

Honestly, I'm not sure which one is preferable (buff vs debuff/control), but I think either one would work well. Hell, I'm just trying not to totally pooch up playing my first full-caster since about 2003 here. :)
Wymond, Frizz, you have an opinion here?
So long as we have a mage doing SOMETHING, I'm happy! Whether that's making Wymond doughtier or making his enemies weaker!

Wymond Dwerryhouse |

An elfy character would round out our party nicely! :D

GM Tarondor |

I have a quick question. I want to take the ancient elf ranger dedication and Elven won familiarity and would also like to pick up witch dedication at 2 and basic spell casting at 4 to get half level on spells from the occult list, right? And can I do both?
No. Ancient Elf gives you a multiclass Dedication (like Ranger) at 1st level (saving you from spending a Class feat on it). But you still can't take a second archetype until you have taken at least two feats from that first dedication.
I'll warn you that two archetypes might leave you feat-starved in your base class -and- the two archetypes.

I decided to take speech, independent, and manual dexterity on a raccoon not because of Guardians of the Galaxy but because my wife feeds crows and a local raccoon she named Rebecca has been coming into my yard to eat the bird seed for a couple of years and is now yet another character in her folio of characters that visit our yard. Imagine Snow White only goth with crows, Pileated wood peckers, downy wood peckers, cardinals, blue Jays, chickens, and a racoon...

Lukas Vanivek |

In my kids' bedtime stories when they were younger, Snow White used to go on wacky races and contests against the Wicked Queen, who was constantly being hampered by her three doofus henchmen, three animated brooms (Broom-Bot, Broomby, and Broombo). So no, it's hardly a stretch for me to imagine that.

Frizz Doctrina |

1. Your wife sounds awesome, but more awesome is your backyard it seems.
2. My oldest loves monsters and we look at the "monster book" sometime aka Bestiary 1. :)

Wymond Dwerryhouse |

You and your spouses are all awesome!

Aww yah dog, greyhawk the room! Show that age you league playin maniac you! I started playing in the chainmail white book days but I remember Greyhawk fondly and Gen Con in Wisconsin along with playing with Dave at the Source comics and games baby. Man I am old

GM Tarondor |

My first GenCon was Kenosha in 1980. I played "Awful Green Things from Outer Space" with Tom Wham, played Metamorphosis Alpha with James Ward (not happy to be playing with kids) and paid for drawings by both Jeff Dee and David Trampier (of Wormy and Emirikol the Chaotic fame). I recall the nerds pestering Gygax's pretty daughter who complained to daddy that she didn't want to be around "all these gamers."
Turned out we weren't old enough to rent a hotel room in Wisconsin, but we were stuck there so the manager turned a blind eye to our young age.
In 1982, they decided not to have advance registration, so you had to get your tickets for the events at the door. My friends and I camped out on the sidewalk like it was a Rolling Stones concert. We went to bed about 9th in line. Woke up about 155th in line. We were furious. I got into a shoving match and got a warning from the police. That was the same con where we camped at a campground. A tornado (yep, Wisconsin's got tornadoes) threw our tent into the trees while we were at the con.

GM Tarondor |

Oh, speaking of Wisconsin police...
In 1982, we were driving between our campsite and downtown Kenosha where the con was being held, and I ran a stop sign because we were in the middle of miles of corn and I couldn't see a reason to slow down. Well, the police were hidden in the corn (I kid you not) and pulled me over.
The cop tried to collect a fine right then and there, saying he could see we were from out of state and knew we wouldn't return to go to court. I told him we had no money, which was true (I didn't even understand that he was shaking us down for money).
My idiot friends were in the car, laughing up a storm and making the officer mad. I was being very respectful, but then he said "Do you think this is a joke? There are no jokes in Wisconsin!" At which point, I couldn't help myself and I started laughing, though I got it under control pretty fast. He stormed out of there fuming and I guess I was pretty lucky not to spend an evening in the local lock-up.

Frizz Doctrina |

I've only been playing since early 2010's but my first GM referred to our room clearing afterwards as Grayhawking so the term stuck in my head. :)
Also haven't been to GenCon yet... :( but one day for sure! Sure happy to play with experience though! :)

Well, I guess some things don't change. REALLY fuming about what happened today (along with a whole lot of other existential angst). >:(

Wymond Dwerryhouse |

Huh...so you're gonna be one of the wizards we're trying to rescue? Kewl!

Lukas Vanivek |

FYI, I'm looking for 1-2 players for my online "home" game of Age of Ashes Online.
Sounds cool but I can't commit that much time at a pop. (Plus, I'm trying to limit how many times I enter an AP in the middle.)

Frizz Doctrina |

It's a super fun game! I even got to see the real Tarondor and he's fun too... for a gold dragon....

Wymond Dwerryhouse |

Yeah, I really, REALLY don't like entering APs in the middle.

GM Tarondor |

Well, then it's not a good fit for you. Which is okay, but it's also too bad, because I'd have liked to have you. But there'll be a next time, I'm sure.
I'm always mulling new games for when old ones end. I've been toying with at least four different ideas recently (An Arthurian campaign, updating a classic 1e AP to 2e (maybe Tyrant's Grasp or Return of the Runelords), a game of The One Ring once the new edition is out in April, or and this is my latest flight of fancy, an Amber Diceless game.)
as Frizz will tell you, I'm old as dirt. But I believe I'll never die because I have so many game ideas I haven't tried yet.

Lukas Vanivek |

Well I'll tell you what, you do any more 2e games here, LMK. I'm eager to try a million different things in PF2.
Okay fine, most of them are just variants of "stab the bad guy in the face," but even that has so many choices!

Frizz Doctrina |

Frizz confirms with a roll of the eyes "You don't become an ancient dragon without being ancient..."
------------------------------------
Tyrant's Grasp! I've only heard about the first chapter of that story but man does the whole gleaming light against an undead king appeal to me as a player. I've specifically been enjoying Wrath of the Righteous computer game because I get to be the holy light of vengeance destroying all the demon hordes. :)
Alas, 6hrs on a Sunday really wore on the wifey since it conflicted with family time. I even asked Tarondor how he managed it.
"The game predated my marriage and family so it was kind of part of the deal" Haha! (not exact comment but rather paraphrased. Frizz not held liable for misquotes of those in another plane of existence.)
I've since secured an every other Wednesday at 5pm that I intend to hold onto vehemently.
And now that I've overshared, I hope you're all having a good week.

Lukas Vanivek |

As far as live sessions go, I have a single game that meets every other Tuesday night. Beyond that, I think time management would kill me unless I managed to like, split into multiple bodies like Jamie Madrox.

Wymond Dwerryhouse |

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Frizz Doctrina |

Happy Turkey Day! Hope you all had some pie, even if you're not celebrating with us Yankees.

Lukas Vanivek |

Oh hell yeah. For Thanksgiving I always make this spinach pie recipe of my grandma's. It's basically eggs spinach and cheese, and sits in the pan like a cinder block, and it's awesome. I deviated from the original recipe this year and my sister was expecting bolts from the blue or some kind of Poltergeist-type disapproval from beyond. Luckily I don't have an Anathema as a class feature. ;)

GM Tarondor |

Lukas, I want to make clear that the levers are dead simple. Push them up, the turntables turn in one direction. Push them down, they turn in another. Leave them in the middle and the turntable is unusable.
So getting around to the east side of the unexplored area is very easy. But that door takes you right to where the automatons are.

Lukas Vanivek |

Fair. I got as much as you said, and the rest, it's entirely possible I'm overthinking this. But, looking at the map, there's an unexplored area due east of Perfire's location on the map. Am I crazy or is that section accessed by the SW turnstile being open to W & N?

Wymond Dwerryhouse |

Overnighting at the hotel I work at due to a snowstorm, so my posting is limited to my phone. Please feel free to bot me if necessary.
