Mine's a computational modelling project, looking at the local environmental impact of underground coal gasification. It's a combination of rock mechanics and fluid mechanics modelling. I'm about two and a half years into the four year project and starting to look forward to it being over!

Mine was on computational algorithms to make mobile 3D laser scanning systems more viable for the then-limited processing systems. Of course, now you can pretty much do my thesis on a single chip, and most mobile laser scanning systems come with them, but you have to start somewhere, right?

Oh wow
I'm starting my phd, but nothing like that. Mine us on creative writing, focused on the use of heroism in literature, primarily the space opera sub genre, and how that relates to cultural perception. And I'm trying to be a writer, as well.
| GM SpiderBeard |
Awesome! I'm not lettered in any significant way myself but work with a lot of professors and am currently negotiating the union contract for the University.
And all of that sounds like fascinating work. Is there any positive environment for academic jobs in Australia, Lena? It's rough in Canada and I hear it's getting downright impossible in the US.
| Arval Beyondane |
I'm feeling left behind here xD Currently working on my bachelor mechanical engineering... On the other hand I don't have any plans for a master or a phd. As a side job I am doing some research but nothing as sophisticated as you guys ^^
| Dr Iozif Drabardi |
I never had any plans to do any more studying after my degree (Chemical Engineering), but ended up doing this anyway (not entirely because I couldn't get a real job, but that certainly helped...)
| GM SpiderBeard |
Hey I'm computerless from this evening until Saturday so expect few if any updates after this afternoon.
Vladlena

Wow. Suffering 30 degrees here (centigrade that is) and 90% humidity. Cyclone weather. Hope you get through it. Weather that cold is a strange thought where I am. I have only seen snow a couple of times in my life, and that was on holiday.
Vladlena

Townsville, state of Queensland, Australia. Right in the tropics.
| GM SpiderBeard |
It's common knowledge that Australia is two metres from the surface of the sun.
I'm up in northern Canada. Well, not very far north on a map, but north of all the major cities. So we'll see -40C occasionally. The coldest I've ever seen is -53.
| Arval Beyondane |
It's in between here the Netherlands... A lot of rain sometimes bordering on snow. We had some 'cold' days this winter but -40 is way away for us here... It's slowly turning to spring right now.
| GM SpiderBeard |
When I lived in the Netherlands for a year it snowed properly for the first time in Limburg for like a decade.
I'll update the game in a few horus. Work calls!
Vladlena

It is true we are close to the sun, so you actually cook if you go outside, but Canada is near Pluto. I mean don't you have a hotel made of ice!!!
Vladlena
|
I would love to go to such a hotel, but only with warm footwear
:)
| Dr Iozif Drabardi |
I'll be in San Francisco for work in June. What's the weather like that time of year? I'm pale skinned and have red hair, so will I be needing factor 50 sunscreen or factor 1,000,000?
| Eldon Appleton |
The sun doesn't burn me. I burn the sun :P

You can find the link to download them on the Additional Resources page. Just scroll down to the Carrion Crown section and there should be a link. It also comes with the rules and a list of what sections we need to finish in order to get the chronicle.
| Eldon Appleton |
Sure!
I'd also like one!
If I'm eligible, which I think I should be as I've played the entire book, here's the info of the character I'd like to give the sheet:
Name: Miyako_Okori
PFS#: 115025-6
Faction: The Exchange
She's my haunted oracle, so it fits to give the 'Harrowstone sheet' to her :)
| GM SpiderBeard |
You can get credit by chapter, and so since you've finished chapter one you can certainly get credit for that! I don't have access to a printer until Monday and so I'll do chronicle sheets for anyone who wants 'em in the game.
| Eldon Appleton |
Any update on the chronicle sheets? :)
Vladlena
|
I've got a character too. I'll post details when i get to my computer.
Vladlena

People of low wisdom unite. I'm thinking this party is full of them, present company included

Lol

I currently don't have the time, but I'll post again tomorrow!

I remember a joke from the old TSR days of Ad&d
One of the roleplay researchers at TSR announces that they have discovered the one sided dice, and explains what a technical achievement it is. He goes on to talk about the many hours of work and the expense. When asked what would you use it for he replied
That's up to marketing.
Vladlena
|
BTW, my character ID for the chronicle sheet you were offering is
Chilly 107199-2
If its not too late.
Vladlena
|
Sorry if its a hassle, you don't have to if it's a problem.
Vladlena

When my friends and I first heard it, we actually tried to reason out what it looked like. We came up with a marble. In which case you could use it as a paper weight, or to play marbles I guess. Or, if it was black, it could be used as a sphere of annihilation. Something i have never seen a figure for.
| GM SpiderBeard |
Okay, as you all may be able to tell I actually haven't done PFS game mastering before, but sheets are almost filled out.
Sheets are pretty much done. Two questions - Kawrock, do I need to know your character/#/faction or can I just give you a direct link ot the sheet?
Secondly, what do I put for gp for an adventure path? It's not stated in the PFS guide for Carrion Crown.
And game update will be later today!
