Mikail spends a few moments curiously looking at the little familiar. He remembers a number of situations from his own childhood that allows him to relate acutely to the creatures predicament, and is wholeheartedly glad that they were bringing the tag along with them. As Ferabras points him on, Mikail remembers his duties and scurries forth to make sure the way is safe for his friends.

Hoshiko thinks if the holy warrior is ok with the little guy accompanying them then she is ok with it...after they resume moving she takes her spot in the back... to better watch the little guy in case it changes its mind.

Soran takes everything in with silence, and shrugs at Ferabras taking the curious little creature on his shoulder.
I've seen stranger... And if Fera is fine with him then he should be a decent companion.
The hunter follows Mikail, ready to push on.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

With Mikail leading the way you head north and west, to where you find a door in the western wall. Mikail checks it and it opens to reveal a short hallway. Listening at the door, he hears nothing.
Inside, this square chamber is covered on all sides by strange canisters, chains, and metal tubes. Dusty statues and the shells of slumped-over constructs are lined up against the walls next to the strange apparatuses.

![]() |

Ferabras considers the room they've found and says quietly, "I don't like this, seems in this place those creations are sure to leap and attack us."
He turns his head to speak to Dax, and is a bit startled to see the little being sitting right in front of his face, making direct eye contact. Attempting unsuccessfully to draw his head back from his own shoulder, Fera asks the forsaken familiar, "Have you been here before, little one? Do you know anything about this room?"

![]() |

Mikail pauses, waiting for the little creature to answer before he moves into the room, keeping his eyes peeled.

The little creature shakes his head. Mikail moves in, his eyes sliding over the many pieces of constructs and machine parts. As he scans he notices an old intact wood golem, looking misused and deteriorated, leaning against the wall. All of the sudden it lurches to life, stumping toward you!

Ferabras moves in and chops at the wood golem, cutting it in half and ending the decrepit golem's brief, but termite infested, life.
End of combat!
The room proves to hold little of value. You head back out, where you're forced back into the gravity-free room, where you can float clockwise or anti-clockwise. Which will it be?

![]() |

Soran instead places his arrow in his quiver and nods approvingly.
Nice swing Fera. Those wooden machines don't last very long against us, do they?
The youth follows along to the next gravity-less room, and floats along with the party, a dour and disgruntled look on his face.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

After a brief swim through the no-gravity room, followed by a screaming reception by the floating fish, you emerge in an antechamber to the east. A door opens into a long hallway that turns to the south before finally ending at a door. Mikail checks, but hearing nothing, opens it.
This strange dome-like room is mostly unassuming at first glance, but upon gazing upward, the magical nature of the chamber quickly becomes apparent. Looming trees with black bark and dry, writhing branches extend from the arched ceiling one hundred feet above, defying gravity and growing downward rather than up. A fine layer of soil covers the stone floor of the room below, and several sets of bloody footprints lead from the northern doorway toward the door to the west.

![]() |

Before Mikail can recover from his shock, the danger is past, and Ferabras has turned the thing to kindling. Mikail claps the teifling on the back as he passes, and quips "What would we do without you, my friend?"
In the magical room past the anti-grav, Mikail looks about in wonder.. and then his eyes return to the earth and rest upon the footprints. "Uh.. Guys?!" he points out. "Think we should follow them.. The gods themselves only know what else could be down here. Hey, does our new friend know anything about these?"

Soran speaks up from the rear of the group, loud enough to hear but not screaming.
I've heard tales of a fey hound the size of a horse. They're called Barrow Hounds and they're supposed to be noble and obedient servants of the fey lords, and are quite intelligent. They understand, but cannot speak, Sylvan. I think that's what we're looking at here. I guess just keep poking holes in it until it stops moving.

![]() |

HA! That's what I have been waiting for!! Not that it will really work now anyways, but..
When Soren calls out his recognition of the creature, Mikail yips in astonishment. Another one??!!" he cries out in common before turning to the dog and saying in sylvan "Stop! Down! Heel! We won't hurt you anymore if you stop fighting!!"
Really though, after that round of attacks, I expect the dog to be dead by now..

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Sorry, since I completely missed your KN roll, I have no problem with you using the better roll, Soran.

"Um, no," Ferabras replies as he wipes plant-hound slime off his armor, "you were here when we walked in. But we've run across a couple of other creatures who have been brought to this place against their will. I'd wager whoever or whatever brought them here brought you as well."

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

The Hound looks discouraged by this news. He sighs deeply and looks sad, almost homesick.

Soran pipes up from the back as he approaches the group.
But we may be able to find a way to return you all home. Something is... wrong... here and I have a feeling we'll figure out what as we keep exploring. What say you come along with us, give us a hand in figuring out a way to get all of you home?
