"Move aside girl." Castiel says to his pet as he takes her place and tries to slam the remaining germ.
attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
dmg: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Prothero regains his balance and draws his fist back, hitting the germ creature hard.
Unarmed Strike, flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 = 24
Unarmed Strike damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

With a couple blows, the final germ splats all over Eldren and Prothero!
No mechanical effect, just fluffy gooeyness.
Out of combat!
We're almost done with this, so go ahead and post PFS numbers and day jobs in the discussion forum. Meanwhile, heal up and we can proceed.

Plus the one Janira gave you a CL 3, with just a few charges left.

![]() |

I think I'm the only one that took damage there? Currently at 6/12 HP.
"May I?" Zlata borrows the halfling's wand from whomever's currently carrying it and uses it on herself.
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 >.<
"That should suffice. Is anyone else hurt?"

As Eldren mentions Janira, you continue to hear her voice filtering through the walls. As you continue to the east, it seems to be getting louder and louder. Shortly, you see some light filtering in from the outside.
Coming out, you see a pitched battle already being waged! Janira looks definitely the worse for wear as she shouts, “You vile beast! I know not what drives your black heart, but I shall not fail in my duty. I shall see you driven from this forest, back to the hills from whence you came!”
A: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
C: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
E: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
P: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
T: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Z: 1d20 ⇒ 19
J: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
M: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Janira steps back from the beast, continuing to assault it with her words and her whip.
1d20 ⇒ 15
Its crack breaks the still of the forest before the minotaur comes in to silence her!
Party up!

Indeed, a log and a stream. The stream is crossable, but difficult terrain.

![]() |

Prothero moves quickly out of the cave, sliding an arrow out of his quiver and nocking it as he moves. Once he's out in the open, he concentrates a moment, drawing on his years of training with the bow. He stands still as a stone, his bow the only thing moving as it tracks his target perfectly before letting fly.
Move action to get out of cave, then use Perfect Strike on attack. Higher of the rolls is attack, second is confirmation, 1/2 uses of Perfect Strike today.
Longbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 =crit confirmation roll
Longbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 =attack roll
Longbow damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Crit damage damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 = 11 Likely not needed, but...

Zlata runs closer as Prothero strikes the beast in the leg with an arrow, narrowly missing a vital spot.

![]() |

Arcana feels all the soreness from her half-healed wounds dissipate with the half-orcs healing. "Thank you, Zlata."
With only a shortbow to do combat with, the monk has to move forward through the brush before engaging the monster.
Running to the edge of the stream as a full round action.

Teric moves out into the middle of the field and calls a blessing on the group.
Move out into the open and cast Bless. Cant do the map right now. Can someone position me 30 feet out where the spell can affect the most? 50 foot range from Teric.

Castiel sends his companion out ahead, moves up and starts summoning.

The party advances on the minotaur as it steps up and swings its battleaxe at Janira with both hands at the haft!
Axe!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Narrow miss!
2d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 6) + 12 = 23
Axe!: 1d20 ⇒ 7
1d6 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
With his attacks missing, the beast lets out a howl of rage!
Janira steps back once more, pulling a pouch from her belt and tossing it at the minotaur.
Janira: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
The dice favour the players right now, it seems.
The bag explodes against the minotaur, covering its legs and torso with gooey strands, sticking it to the ground where it stands!
Party up!

An eagle pops out of nowhere and attacks the minotaur from the left. The Allosaurus moves to attack it from the other side. eagle talons and bite: 3d20 + 3 ⇒ (20, 1, 15) + 3 = 39

Castiel moves 30ft towards the log to cross.

Prothero takes a quick step forward, then releases two arrows in quick succession at the minotaur.
Moved Teric where he should be able to get us all with bless.
5-foot step, then flurry.
Flurry with Longbow, bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 = 20
Longbow damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Flurry with Longbow, bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24
Longbow damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Between the beasts and the arrows, the minotaur falls.
Out of combat! =(
Janira rushes to your side, beaten and bleeding. "Well done, Pathfinders! I am glad fortune brought you to my aid when it did! Tell me, how goes the exploration of the caves?"

![]() |

"There's a mean man in there, he stole our cloak. There was an army of undead led by magic gummy bears, but we took care of them. One of them ate Zlata." She looks over the Minotaur's corpse, already losing interest in the subject at hand. "Cave's some kinda religious monument for gillmen. Mean gillmen."

![]() |

"'Ate' is perhaps too strong a word," Zlata chuckles at her companions description, "but yes, the caves contain a spring which is sacred to the gillmen; they worship the water and revere the tides in particular. Of course, a spring wouldn't normally be tidal, so there may be some interesting geology at work."
"It also seems others have used the site in the past, as well," she adds, motioning for Castiel to report on the engravings and model city.

![]() |

He absent mindedly feeds his Allosaurus a bit of meat. "Yes there was a mini Absolom in there. Looked quite nice. It even exuded a bit of magic, though faint. We also found several reliefs of Eroden in different forms."

![]() |

"A bit of a standoffish fellow, but we were the intruders there. Some carvings on the walls." Teric nods at the other people's words. "Yes, something to do with Aroden."

![]() |

"I'd agree with Teric," Prothero weighs in, "the one fellow who could speak in there didn't particularly want to talk to us. The ones who couldn't speak attacked us."

![]() |

Yes, the gillman wasn't hostile but he certainly wasn't hospitable either. Despite that, he did share some of his knowledge. Some. I'm sure he could have told us more.

![]() |

"Well at least you got some insight about the place, both from the gillman and the caves themselves!" Janira grows a little misty-eyed at the thought of meeting a gillman.
"So do you think you've examined the caves enough to satisfy Master Zey and the other Masters?"

![]() |

"Wasn't there another exit from where we talked to the gillman?" Prothero asks. "He said something about it leading back outside, but not the way we came in. Do you think we need to check that passage out before we can report back?"
Not sure if you were prompting us to explore further or not, Sior. I'd be fine with wrapping it up, if we're ready to do that.

![]() |

It's entirely up to you. We can indeed end it here if you desire to. You have already completed the primary and secondary objectives. Just up to you all how you'd like to proceed.

![]() |

I'm good with ending here, since there will be other opportunities to explore these caves in future Confirmations, and it's nice to find something new. The first time I played this, we missed the secret door to the germ/amoeba room, so I had a new thing to experience my second time through. Maybe there are yet more surprises!

![]() |

Just throwing it out there, the amoeba room is the optional encounter and is gotten to either via the secret passage or by the other exit from the gillman. Will post a closing post tomorrow when I'm back on my laptop and get chronicle sheets out as well.

"There was a passage we didn't go through, but I'd rather not intrude on Uori's meditation further. I think we're ready to make our report. It has been a pleasure to work with you all."

![]() |

"Yes, the fellow did seem irked at having been disturbed. I believe we have enough for Master Zey at the moment."

![]() |

"He was an irksome fellow either way. Best leave him to his troubles. If he wanted our help, he would have asked."

![]() |

Janira claps her hands together. "It sounds like the Masters will be most pleased! Let's head back to Absalom with your findings!"
The journey back to the city is without further incident. Once safely back in the Grand Lodge, Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine inquires excitedly about what you found and asks to see any notes. As you are now the foremost authorities on that cave and what it contains, Shaine also invites you to come up with its name.
His excitement fading, Shaine is sure to compliment Janira for her guidance and assistance, much to the halfling’s delight.
Three days later, the Masters of Swords, Scrolls, and Spells, the one who best represents your interests confirms you each as a full Pathfinder field agent. As part of the ceremony, that mentor also gifts a personalized wayfinder to you, reminding you that this is not only the symbol of the Pathfinder’s trade but also a reminder of the three principle duties: explore, report, and cooperate. (If this is your first time playing The Confirmation with ANY character, this wayfinder is free. If you have played before, this wayfinder costs 1 Prestige point.)
Thus finishes The Confirmation! Working on Chronicle sheets right now.
