Drungaard |
If it is Drungaard's turn?
Drungaard will do a quick perception check to see if he hears anything. Perception check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 If all is well he will continue to move through this tunnel.
GM Silbeg |
On the fallen goblins, you discover
2 small horsechoppers
a slew of small shortbows
a plethora of small arrows
2 small studded leather armor
1 potion
Drungaard
Nothing to see, just a narrow tunnel leading to a door.
Sigríðr Jǫrðhamarr |
Sigríðr angrily kicks every goblin that owns nothing more than what she describes as "More goblin s$!%!" When she gets to the potion she tries a taste.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
"So...do we dig Captain Torag out, or do we accept the irony and assume that he's happy that his dead corpse is probably fine laying in a pile of stone? In either case, is everybody ready to keep moving?"
Elizabeth Spaghetti |
Elizabeth does a few quick stretches as her guardian angel suggests pressing onward into the darkness. She is eager to crush more goblins in hopes to impress Sigríðr.
"YES."
Drungaard |
Drungaard will also search the bodies near him. When that is done, he will move near the rubble. he will then try to let his fellow party members know that he is alive by either yelling or even banging on a wall or a stone. He will wait a few minutes and if there is no answer he will go back down the tunnel to the door.
GM Silbeg |
There was really nothing of value on the "regular" goblins... dogslicer, shortbow, a lot of ratty crap. Drungaard hears no answer, and goes down to the door.
Drungaard |
Drungaard listens at the door.perception check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 If he hears nothing he will check for traps perception trap checking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 If no traps are found then he will carefully check the door handle to see if it is locked. doing so as quietly as he can.
GM Silbeg |
As the rest of the team heals themselves, and just wanders around without progressing further into the tower, Drungaard opens the door at the end of the tunnel. It isn't a particularly nice door, having been obviously made by goblins.
From this curving room, doors lead east and west, and a passage leads south. A small table with four rickety chairs sits in the middle of the room. A pair of dice lies on the table amid cups and plates.
At the table are a pair of goblins, who immediately stand up, and get ready to fight!
(At this time, only Drungaard may act. The rest of the group doesn't know that anything is happening yet)

We'll call it 6 rounds.

Drungaard finally drops a goblin, as Betty moves up, and attacks another. Declan makes it there just in time to see Betty's goblin fall to the ground like a sack of rotten potatoes.
Combat over
Drungaard |
As Drungaard yanks his war axe out of the goblin's body he says "Well that's number 4 for me. How many did all of you get?"
Sithy Rockskin |
Sithy leads Anya through the darkness to catch up with the party.
"C'mon bird!" he yells as they pass the crow.
Drungaard |
Drungaard looks at Sigríðr and says "Was that stupid bird 1 of the 3 you killed?"
GM Silbeg |
As he says this, Drungaard hears the pathetic squawk of a raven that is totally lost in the dark.
Sigríðr Jǫrðhamarr |
Sigríðr glowers, "Are you deaf and dumb? I commented that I saved the lives of our fellow adventurers, not killed them. And that squawk you just heard? That's the worthless raven behind us, that can't see. In fact, that's something perhaps we should talk about. Clearly some of us can see, but Elizabeth here and Anya can't see, so perhaps, before running off on our own, we should take that into consideration. We can't all be perfect. Cooperate maybe?
Sigríðr frowns, "If everybody's healthy, which way?
She then hollers into the darkness, "Hrafnr come!"
Handle Animal (Come): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Elizabeth Spaghetti |
Elizabeth shifts her glowing earthbreaker around.
"ROCK LOBSTER MADE MY WEAPON GLOW AND PAJAMAS-FOR-ARMOR HAS A SUNROD. FROWNY FACE SHOULD JUST CHARGE INTO DANGER AND I'LL FOLLOW HIM IN."
She glances around for a bit before moving into the adjacent hallway.
"I KNEW I SAW WALLS OVER HERE! WE SHOULD GO THIS WAY! GET NEXT TO ME, FROWNY FACE," she says, gesturing to Declan.
Sigríðr Jǫrðhamarr |
Once Hrafnr shows up, Sigríðr again puts her bird on defend pointing at Betty and her light, "Hrafnr, defend her!
Handle Animal Defend: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Smiling that the bird seems to have listened to her for once, Sigríðr walks up to the door and awaits at least half the party to get into position before opening it.
GM Silbeg |
Betty's light goes out as everyone tries to organize where they are. The group is able to get Betty, Anya, and Hrafnr in the are light. (Please let me know who has light, and what it is)
Is Sigríðr opening the top or bottom door?
Sigríðr Jǫrðhamarr |
Back in town, Sigríðr hits the alchemist and the general store, dragging Anya complaining the entire way, but not letting go and gritting through her teeth, "We're making your lame ass less worthless."
Upon visiting the alchemist, she procures a vial of alchemical glue (plunking down 20 gp in the process) as well as 8 sunrods (dropping another 16 gp in the process). "I'll take whatever coin you yahoos can give when this is over, since you're the one that can't see, but probably can't afford some basic gear."
At the general store Sigríðr finds and purchases one folding pole, a harness sized for humans, and a very long length of twine (spending another 10.2 gp in the process).
Not caring about quality of worksmanship, or even how keen it looks she sets to work putting together a contraption of amazing simplicity. Using the twine, she ties the folding pole to the harness so it sticks out towards the front the user just under their arm (mostly in the hope that if it starts letting loose the user can hold onto the pole). Then with a dab of alchemical glue she attaches a sunrod on the harness, one on the tip of the pole, and one on the mid-point. She then folds the pole back up onto the harness and out of the way.
Smiling at her handiwork, she then takes the twine and cuts it into a 20' length. With a little elbow grease and some dabs of glue here and there, she ties one sunrod to each end, and then another at the 5 foot intervals along it's length.
Smiling, a horrible smile none of you ever wish to see again, she shoves Anya into the harness and gives the rope to Betty. "There. Quit yer whinin'."
She then makes her way back to the same exact spot she was previously standing and waits for everybody to get into position while smugly whispering, "Priest of the forge my tight Dwarven ass."
GM Silbeg |
When she tries the door to the north, after the monstrosity of a rig has been created, Sigríðr, she finds the door is locked. She slams her shoulder into the door, but it does not break open.
STR check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Elizabeth Spaghetti |
Back inside the spire, Elizabeth swings her chain of runrods about in the darkness.
Did we rest in town? I'm voting 'yes' to get back some bloodrage rounds.
Declan "Downer" Dumpernickle |
Edit: I sure wouldn't mind getting my rounds back either.
Seeing Sigrid fail to force the door, Declan will move over and pull out a crowbar.
"Let me take care of that."
Breakdown:
+4 from strength
+2 from crowbar
+2 from destructive blows trait
+2 from gatecrasher alt-racial
GM Silbeg |
Based on Sigríðr's description, the answer is no.
I've moved a few tokens, so that Declan get there, and Anya and BVettey are next to each other.
Declan throws his shoulder into the door, but it still doesn't budge.
Sigríðr Jǫrðhamarr |
I tried the door to the south, not north.
Sigríðr poises by the south door because she didn't notice the north door, waiting for everybody to get in line.
Sigríðr, completely confused of north and south, which is unusual due to her Dwarven heritage, turns around and tries the other door.
GM Silbeg |
Technically they are east and west. Otherwise, my bad.
Sigríðr goes to open the double doors to the east, and finds that they open just fine. Stairs wind downward to the right, circling around a glowing wall of semi-translucent green stone. It seems the Azlanti tower was built around a core of some other material—a spire within a spire.
In the area, are a pair of goblin sentries.
