Ok, so by my reckoning, after using 7 disks to buy two potions, there will be 49 discs remaining. This is enough discs to have 8 each, with one person gaining an additional disc. I will vote that Preli gets the larger stack, in the hopes that he will see that sharing isn't so bad :)
Preli Othont III |
Thum should get the extra, the light he bought helps the group.
If my understanding of what Shady said is correct your "share" was taken by Onna. you just happen to start with exactly the same wealth.
So after all this (sorry, opened a can of worms there) we each get the equivalent of 80gc, thrum gets 20gc having bought the light?

Any gear we buy will help the group...or at least should in theory. An even split is fine by me.
We might want to start a pool of cash to buy things that belong to the party, and stay with the party if a character departs or dies. Perhaps we could divide future loot seven ways instead of six, and have the seventh share be for wands of cure light wounds and such. How about we start that immediately, so that everyone gets 8sd (80g) and there's still 1sd (10g) in the common fund, plus the two healing potions.

I don't mind you RPing however you like. We can keep the accounts as players instead of as characters.
Kayla Striegold |
Let's play it out. Individual shares of treasure. Pitch in if you choose. Share your potions (or not) as you choose.
Kayla has opted to buy one potion with her share of disks/current gold. Because she has four sunrods, and is willing to use them for the group, she will hold off onhelping to purchase the ion torch...

Hey guys, I mentioned this to the GM but I wanted to let you all know as well. I was in a pretty serious car accident on Monday, and I'm still pretty shaken up along with having to deal with day to day life along with insurance claims and all that nonsense. I'm thankfully not seriously injured--I'm very lucky to be alive, let alone able to walk/move--but I'm just caught between a lot of stuff right now and I'll be doing my best to keep up. Shady, as I've said before feel free to bot me if I hold things up, but I'll be doing my best to keep up.
Preli Othont III |
Shoot Adrian I completely missed your post, sorry! Glad you're ok. Take your time.
GM- No drama, as and when. Don't let this add to your stress.

Hey Darian, I don't know why I didn't think of this, but since we were talking about ideas for higher levels I can't suggest that you pick up Shock Bombs strongly enough. Most robots are vulnerable to electricity damage, and even those with resistance to it as well end up taking extra damage. Ozymandias is taking the Elemental Strike ability in the future for much the same reason, most likely. It'll be a nasty combo at higher levels.
Also, thanks for the well wishes, guys. I'm headed to the doctor tomorrow for a follow-up (I might have a punctured lung, which is bad) but hopefully nothing too bad is wrong with me that they missed.

Hey guys, I'm posting this in all my active games so everyone is aware of it; I'll be traveling abroad to Iceland for about three weeks through my university starting on Thursday. I should have reasonable access to internet while I'm there since we're primarily staying in its two larger cities, but I don't know how often I'll have the time to post since I'm on a trip through school and not traveling by myself. I imagine I'll be able to post on a semi-regular basis, but I want everyone to know I probably won't be posting once a day for the next three weeks or so. Some days I'll probably post fairly regularly, and others I might not be here for a few days. I'll try to keep you guys updated on when I'll be around and when I won't, but the truth is I don't exactly know.
If I'm gone for a few days, feel free to take control of my character if we need to move on or if there's something specifically relating to me needing to post, as I can't guarantee I'd be able to answer it in a timely fashion. Anyway, I'll still be here for the next few days, and if I'm not around for a while, have fun gaming!

Hi, I've had a few nightmare weeks at work (I'll tell you over a drink some time) but think I am back in the saddle now.
Just separately, I'm currently running an interest check on a Midgard campaign. My general practice is to offer slots first to players already involved in existing campaigns. So if you're interested please give me a shout via PM.
Adrien Belmont |
I should actually have internet for the next four or five days, guaranteed. I don't know how long we're staying where I am, but it's close to a week and I'll be back every day in the evening to post and keep track of everything here on the forums. Iceland has been absolutely awesome so far, by the way.
As for the Midgard campaign, I'll have to do some reading on the setting and stuff, but I'm interested in a spot.

I finally got round to doing some paperwork on XP and loot.
XP: I've updated and now have a spreadsheet in place (up to this level anyhow) tracking. You're on 1135 each. A 4 player party would be on 1700-ish and, had it executed on all the possible encounters thus far, would have levelled. There's a school on APs that basically follows the books with "When you start this bit you should be at this level" - I have that in an AP I inherited but in my observation for a group of 6 that means the group is generally overpowered for its encounters. It also encourages a rush through the main plot rather than stopping for side-investigations. I'll continue to update as we complete rooms going forward.
Loot/Gold: Here's what actually was collected thus far:
- a valuable looking agate
- 42 gp, a silver unholy symbol of Zyphus, and two water-tight potions of cure light wounds.
- 7 silverdisks
- a pouch containing 49 silverdisks and five strange cards made of a flexible, smooth material. These five cards each bear a brown stripe
- 5 nets
- some as yet unidentified technical geegaws from earlier this level
1 silverdisk = 10 gp. I suggest we convert directly to gp. I also suggest converting non-technical, non-magical goods at 100% market price when in town, without having to roleplay market encounters. Note you get a 20% discount on available items when in town.
For technical items, either you need a Know/Technology check to succeed or to find and meet with an appraiser in town. Similarly for magic items.
New joiners get the same amount as the leavers, so players should always have access to the total divided by 6. The leavers will take their bought items, unless they're "pooled" items.
There was some spending earlier - can you pls let me know who bought what and I will track that also. I believe there was an ioun stone, anything else?
Adrien Belmont |
I forgot to answer this; I was waiting for it to be my turn in combat to reply to this, but it took longer than I thought. I am fine with converting items we won't use into GP when we're in town; however, it would be a Knowledge (Engingeering) check to determine the value of a technological item, as long as we possess the Technologist feat, correct? As Adrien is a tinkerer and archaeologist, I took that feat to represent his admittedly limited understanding.
I didn't buy anything; I believe Thum bought the Ioun stone.
Arkady Bollerend |
I' was waiting for it to be Arkady's turn.
The only other things that were bought were the three potions of cure light wounds. One was bought between Kayla and Arkady's spare gold (15 from Kayla, 20 from Arkady I believe), and the other two were spent from the silverdisks (7 spent in total)
Kayla Striegold |
Arkady had it right - Kayla helped to cover the potions.
"Kayla has opted to buy one potion with her share of disks/current gold. Because she has four sunrods, and is willing to use them for the group, she will hold off onhelping to purchase the ion torch..."

My suggestion is
- "Pool" purchases get contributed to equally. If a character leaves the team gets to keep them. I think the Ioun stone falls into that category.
- Individual's purchases are kept by the individual. If the character leaves they go with the character.
- Loot which is retained (e.g. magic or tech items such as armour, weapons) can go into either the pool or be taken by an individual
I can manage the bookkeeping on the pool items. You'll just need to manage your own inventories.
Re identification - correct - but there are NPCs who can help with identification, having higher Know/Engineering scores than any of you.
Who has the 2 potions of CLW you found?

Howdy everyone. I'm the new player that GM Shady asked to join. Don't have a character quite done yet, but he'll be good to go by the time he needs to come in. Definitely thinking an Android, though I'm a little torn between Witch and Wizard. Given that there's supposed to be a lot of construct enemies, I'm not sure how effective the Witch spell list will be. I do prefer Witch though, so I'll try to make it work.
Arkady Bollerend |
Apologies for the quiet the last few days. Couple of things came up with home and work that required my attention, but I am back now and will post up tomorrow morning (my time).
GM Shady |
Just to point out this post earlier ... (further up this page)
http://paizo.com/campaigns/GMShadysIronGods/discussion&page=5#232
... there were two additional CLW potions in the loot collected in the first run, which I think are unused (there having been one - bought - potion used).
However - can you please sort out who has what inventory.
My current assumptions:
??? - a valuable looking agate
??? - a silver unholy symbol of Zyphus, and two water-tight potions of cure light wounds.
SPENT - 7 silverdisks
Kayla - five strange cards made of a flexible, smooth material. These five cards each bear a brown stripe
Prelli - 5 nets
Thum - some as yet unidentified technical geegaws from earlier this level
Thum - ioun stone
Pool/should be shared out - 42gp + 49 silverdisks, converted to gp = 532gp total. Should assume those who invested in the ioun stone get their money back so this is 532/6 = 88.6.6 gp each + return of funds spent. Please update your inventories accordingly. Thum will return his goods to the "pool" by handing them to someone on return.
I'll recontact the new player to replace Thum, whether you use the CLW and carry on or return to town now.
