With that 24, you know whatever you want to know about a quasit.
You read a smuggler's journal, which includes a map of what appears to be a smuggling tunnel under the Glassworks. There is no mention of a quasit.
Sunday Daud
"You have told," pausing slightly to run a finger circular to indicate everyone else. "Zhem, Not I. I know nothing about Nualia other zhan 'celestial taint', 'freak status', 'sheltered', and zhat she is now trying to destroy Sandpoint vith zhe aid of Goblins and Demons."
DM Crispy
Delendir Farnes
"We are all also surprised by the discovery." Delendir says frankly to the cleric "I would like to save her if possible. Is there any way to pull out a demon like that from a young girl body?"
At some point Delendir also introduces a new point "Is there any help you can provide us against those more than probable demons we will have to fight on cleaning the tunnels under the Glassworks?"
And here it goes when I am hit back again...
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
Delendir Farnes
"Will it be possible at least to get some healing and blessing material? We aren't precisely rich, but we can make a good donation to the church." Delendir shows the bag with the 500 gold pieces.
Jessica DuMorne
"Is there anything you can tell us about demons and their weaknesses Father? I am sorry to say that my knowledge of them is practically nothing."
DM Crispy
Father Zantus draws upon the power of Desna, his holy aura bathing you all.
He channels you all back to full health, if needed.
To Delendir, "Sadly, I don't have anything of that sort on hand at the moment."
To Jessica, "Weapons of cold-forged iron can inflict damage upon some demons, and good-aligned weapons are always effective. Electricity does not work, and the other elements are sluggish to work against them. Most have to ability to shrug off spells, as well. As far as weaknesses, I can't say, beyond their completely chaotic nature and relative inability to work together."
Jessica DuMorne
"Thank you Father, that is more than we knew before and might save our lives, and the town, someday."
Delendir Farnes
Feeling the healing relieving him Delendir breaths more calm now, kneeling in the floor "Thanks father for your blessing." and raising again "Your information about the demons is more than welcome!" the ranger draws his cold iron dagger "Something like this? I hope I had my family falchion with me, regretfully it was broken on the assault to my home."
Then, yet again before leaving Delendir seems to remember something important he wanted to ask "Do you know where could we get a second-hand healing wand?"
DM Crispy
The Father nods, smiling. "Exactly like that, Delendir. That ought to bite deep."
The priest turns to all of you.
"Of course, you may have my small piece of Desna's power whenever you wish it...but my place is here in town, helping to rebuild and strengthen in these trying times. I wish you luck down there, and I will pray to Desna for your safe return."
Basically, you can get free after-the-fact healing here once you are done with missions, etc, as long as you don't abuse it. Start trying the 10-minute workday approach, and he'll suddenly get ill. Cool?
Sunday Daud
Works for me ^w^
... Hope Jessica doesn't get jealous.
Delendir Farnes
Crispy, I understand from Zantus answer you don't want partial charged wands buying in the campaign. Am I correct? Just wanting to make sure.
Noding to father Zantus "Thanks a lot again for your offer. Let's hope we don't need it, but it is much appreciated."
If none has anything else to add Delendir will go back to the Rusty Dragon to split the loot definitely.
----------------------------
Once back at the inn, and trying to sort out the loot logistics Delendir starts placing numbers "Good, so we sold the flute, the earings and the dust, and we got a total 505 gold pieces. I think we want some healing power backup, thus, I propose reserving 100 to buy cure scrolls." Delendir looks at the others to see if there are different ideas "That shall leave us with 100 gold pieces for each of us, and 5 party pieces."
Placing the bow over the table Delendir adds "I will keep the bow and the arrows for myself, thus, keeping only 61.5gp, and leaving the party gold at 43.5gp, so we can raise the share by 10gp and leave only 3.5gp in the party bag. The thief's tools, the healing potion and the protection ring, I consider them party items and would be unfair to make someone to pay for it individually." looking at his fellows "With that we should be settled on about the party loot share. Any different thoughts?"
With Delendir's deal we should get this:
Delendir: 71.5gp
Jessica: 110gp
Tal: 110gp
Daud: 110gp
Party: 3.5gp, 1 cure light potion, 4 cure light scrolls (Jessica), 1 protection ring (Daud), 1 thief's tools (Delendir), Tsuto's journal

Tal will copy the map from the book he found at Quinks. He buys some crafting materials so he can make his own scrolls and heads back to the rest of the group.
==================================
Tal returns around dinner time. He sits with the rest at the table and over dinner discusses what he found during the day.
"Ok, so I found a map of the tunnels under the Glassworks which was made by a smuggler. I copied it from the book so we can use it. I figured out some things about quasits. Here's the list of their abilities. Their spontaneous invisibility will be annoying so we should get something to counteract that. Perhaps we can throw a net over it which has a rope attached so it can't escape."
As Delendir discusses the sharing of goods Tal looks over the resources.
"It sounds good, but we should bring a few more potions. Should Jessica ever go down, we have no healing except potions. I just spent some money at Quinks for materials for scrolls myself so I should be good for tomorrow. Let's hope we can find some more resources soon. I doubt we can fight a goblin horde with this."
Delendir Farnes
Taking the map from Tal's hands Delendir gets very happy on the sight "That's great Tal! Well done! With this we can plan much better our exploration! I have to admit I feel even a bit excited about the exploration. Have you ever been in a similar situation?"
Any chances we can have a handout with the map so we make a better idea of what kind of information we have and better plan for it? :)
Thinking carefully at the matter of the healing backup the ranger gives his two cents "You are right about it, we can buy instead one pot and two scrolls. We should check for a way there's someone else in the group able to use healing items in case of emergency. Do you think there might be someone else in the town able to help us? Shall we place a recruitment advertisement?"
Taking into account our current set of skills, I think a Bard or Magus might be the perfect match for the party. If we want even more tanking I would say a Paladin, and if we want more blasting, a Druid. Shall we open the recruitment thread? Another option might be taking a real rogue into the party and giving back Delendir's ranger divine casting capabilities, but I think that breaks the continuity feeling.
Jessica DuMorne
Smiling rather sadly, "It seems like those I am meeting are leaving us so fast, first Kiley, now Vivi, I hope things work out for them." Looking to Delendir, "I think that would be a wise idea, especially since we have to deal with a demon down there."

I think we have a concensus about the loot don't we? Bad GM, Bad!
Sunday Daud
Don't you know you never ask players to use planning and cohesion?!?! We react the same way as cockroaches to sudden light!
Slightly more seriously though I believe the loot is okay, save I think Jessica wants the ring, which I am okay with.
Delendir Farnes
Just to make it clear, I am not buying anything for now with my share of the loot. Unless I can buy a special leather armor for my animal companion.
Other than private buys, I think we are done Crispy. Well there is one potion we haven't agreed on who to carries it, I just suggested against giving it to Jessica as if he is split from the group it means losing all our healing power.
Loot summary:
Delendir: Bow, Arrows, Thief tools, money
Tal: Money
Jessica: Money, 2 scrolls, 1 potion
Daud: Money, ring
Not decided: 1 potion
Jessica DuMorne
I am not on the front lines, and if I am, we are already screwed most likely, so Daud, the ring is yours if you want it. I am sure there will be more later anyway.
Sunday Daud
Okies, but if you change your mind just ask.
Jessica DuMorne
"We're going to Disney World!"
Sorry, couldn't resist, I imagine we may go "recruiting" for our next pc, I think that is what was implied. I'm up for suggestions. Doubt I will get to post again today, but I will try if I can.
Delendir Farnes
After placing the announcement in the Inn looking for volunteers to help explore the smuggler tunnels. Delendir waits a bit in the Rusty Dragon for any to present. He then goes to sleep and in the morning the ranger goes check his traps very early, with the sunrise.
Once at the forest he will check the place he promised his animal companion, Gina, to wait for. "Fiuuuu!" the half-elf places his hand for the hawk to come "Oh Gina! I missed you so much! I want you to come with me this time. There are some problems and I need your skills." As the hawk looks at him and shrieks the ranger grins glad.
Later, at breakfast time, Delendir goes back to the Rusty Dragon and prepares a small cage in his room for the hawk to stay "You can go free ok? But when you stay inside the room, remain in this cage, do you understand?" the half-elf looks at the bird for a while, then opens the window "You can go have a look now around. Shriek if there are problems, do you understand?"
Handle animal (seek, trained) DC 10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Then he goes down to have breakfast with the party and wait for volunteers "How was your sleep? Are you going know to try luck with Tsuto Tal? Let's see if some volunteer presents to help us..."
Jessica DuMorne
Finishing her devotions and coming downstairs to sing her morning blessing for the new day, Jessica looks for her friends and goes to join them. She goes to Delendir and joins him, sitting comfortably, she orders her breakfast. Looking at Delendir, "So, have we had any luck on finding additional help for dealing with the quasit?"
Delendir Farnes
"None really presented yesterday, but let's hope someone comes this morning, now that the new has probably spread." pleasing at the song he adds "Thanks for the song, you know, I am getting used to your beautiful music every morning." Delendir eats and drinks copiously "I have the feeling today will be a long day... let's hope we receive some visits!"
Jessica DuMorne
Leaning over and giving Delendir a quick peck on the cheek"Thank you Delendir, it makes me glad to know that people are appreciating my music."
Sunday Daud
Mulling over yesterday's 'conversation' with Tsuto Daud sips on his liquid breakfast while listening to the sounds of the inn. "I agree, it is quite beautiful Miss Jessica. I'm more accustomed to dirges and nocturnes so your morning reprieves are quite refreshing."
Wicked Grace
Dressed in ruffled white and soft black, with leather clothes and beautiful hat, Wicked Grace enters the Rusty Dragon. A scorpion whip, thorned and deadly, hangs from her belt, ready to bite.
A picture of Wicked Grace's current outfit.
The gothic woman makes her way slowly through the room, hip swaying back and forth with each step in an invitation to watch her progress. She does not stop until she stands before the assembled party.
Grace places her hand over her heart and inclines her head.
"Heroes of Sandpoint," she purrs in a voice that promises pain and pleasure and other words beginning with the letter "p". "I am Wicked Grace. Word of your deeds and your need have both traveled to me on the whispering wind of rumors. I offer my services as one trained in both combat and the mystic arts. I am not alone in this. My companion will be along shortly. She sings the songs of rage and blood and her weapons slice as keenly, I assure you, as does her tongue."
Sunday Daud
Seeing the dominating newcomer enter the building and make her way over Daud puts hus bottle down and attempts to assume a stance of nonchalance... And fails miserably as he gives the woman a dead stare as she walks. Her presence, her attire, her weapon, the entire air about her brought back memories, not all good... But not all bad either.
Jessica DuMorne
Looking up at the woman who introduces herself as Wicked Grace, Jessica smiles at her and gestures to a seat, "Please, feel free to join us. I'm Jessica a priestess of Shelyn, this is Delendir our trapper and woodsman, and that is Sunday the man who puts himself between those of us not as suited for combat and our enemies." She looks around, "I'm not sure where Tal is at, maybe still with his Aunt?"
Sunday Daud
Jessica's compliment brings Daud out of his stare somewhat to acknowledge the person in present. "Pleasure, milady." he'll say with a slight bow.
DM Crispy
The help at the Rusty Dragon does an admirable job of keeping the 'Heroes of Sandpoint' well fed and watered (or boozed, in most of the PC's cases), bustling about to wait on them and the other current patrons. A middle-aged barmaid gives the newcomer a shy smile, nodding in greeting. "May I help ya, milady?"
Elisai Aurear
The door opens and Elisai strides through, walking purposely with a determined expression on her face that she hopes will hide the fact that she is very obviously late. Making a beeline for Grace, the differences between their dress are similar, yet slightly different. Where as Grace prefers black and white leather, Elisai prefers brown, but presents a slightly more imposing image with a Greatsword strapped across her back, compared with the scorpion whip that Grace seems to favour.
As she crosses the bar, Elisai shrugs off the stares, confident that she wouldn't ever be recognised as an escapee, largely due to the heavy use of her Prestidigitation spell to change her hair colour from red to a more common brown. Stares wouldn't therefore, hurt her, and truth be told she still enjoyed the attention, a relic from her past opera days.
"I apologise for my tardiness" she remarks, upon standing next to Grace. "My name is Elisai, companion of the undoubtedly Wicked Grace here, part time student of the arcane magicks and fairly handy with a Greatsword if the occasion calls for it".
There is a slight pause as Elisai quickly appraises those present, her dark eyes flicking from one to the other while quickly attempting to judge just how much Grace had revealed in her absence. Elisai had never particularly been one for perceptive detail, so her glances are more cursory rather than detailed before she continues on.
"I assume, that Grace has already introduced me to some extent, please be sure that she...and I for that matter, have a flair for the dramatic, so please don't believe everything she says about me", she finishes with a quick smile.
Sunday Daud
"Pleasure to you as vell, milady." Speaking while languidly turning to face the second newcomer his eyes dart up and down in appraisal, eyeing her sword more than anything.
Elisai Aurear
Elisai raises a penciled eyebrow in slight surprise "Well I must say, a polite greeting in a bar of all places...pleasure to you as well sir", Elisai responds, the words more of a returned greeting rather than an implied invitation.
DM Crispy
As a whole, the bar is well-kept if a little run down. There are quite a few tables, and they actually serve food here! The White Deer across town sports better accommodations at the same prices, yet still loses most business to the Rusty Dragon. Hopefully Ameiko will not be out of sorts long, since it is suspected that she is the glue that holds it together.
The barmaid will quickly get drinks (whatever strikes their fancy) for the two newcomers, scurrying to take other patrons' orders as the tavern starts to fill up with the morning crowd.
Sunday Daud
"I may be a miserable pile of secrets but I may still keep some of my manners." he says while inclining with his hand to one of the free seats.
Delendir Farnes
Blushed still by Jessica's thanks, Delendir looks judgamental as the two women enter and then approach the adventurers.
Looking from top down clearly uncomfortable the ranger says "For Erastil's sake! Weren't there no proper clothes for covering your body appropiately where you got that?"
Sipping half-tank of beer Delendir almost spills half when he realises the weird couple is reporting themselves as candidates "I don't mind to offend you w...maids. But have you been told how dangerous is our mission? We need real warriors here, perhaps some fruitful connection with the gods, like our daring Jessica here present. Are you even able to hold that massive sword at your back lady? Last thing we need here are more women to be protected." the man looks around "Where is Tal? Is he taking that long with his aunt? And Vivi? What is he doing for Ameiko the whole night? There's an incoming attack over the town!" Delendir clearly seems stressed out by the preasure of the town responsibility as the Sheriff is away.
Talathel "Tal" Darkariel
|
Tal enters the bar moments later, his hair a bit more ruffled than usual, and he looks around to where his companions sit. He raises his eyebrow in appreciation of the two new beauties that have joined the group and approaches them. As he reaches the table he takes off his sunglasses and introduces himself with a bow.
"Greetings ladies and friends. My name is Talwin, but you may call me Tal for short. Am I correct to assume you responded to Delendirs poster concerning the exploration of the Glasswork tunnels? It seems the gods have smiled upon us for sending such gracious and lovely allies."
He takes both of the ladies' hands and gives them each a quick peck of a kiss.
He sits down at a free seat and puts down his spellbook.
"I prepared a spell which will hopefully get some information out of Tsuto. I'm not sure what the spell's odds are for succeeding so I didn't prepare any other spells right now in case I need to try it again.
I also took the liberty to write some scrolls last night and this morning which may be useful.
Since both ladies seem to be familiar with the arcane, perhaps we should compare notes so that we do not prepare the same spells."
Sunday Daud
At Delendir's "appraisal" Daud will reflexively reach out and slap the back of the half-elf's head as he talks, adding a death glare as the misogynist rant continues.
Elisai Aurear
Initially, Elisai seems rather perplexed by the rangers initial remarks, cocking her head to one side, before frowning in replay "What on earth do you mean about appropriate clothing...what's wrong with what I'm wearing?"
As Delendir continues on however, Elisai's eyes, just for a second, flash with irritation at the slightly outdated remarks, but the moment is quickly gone as she just as easily retains her cool. "You needn't worry good sir, if we should encounter goblins, or bandits, or any other horrible thing, you have my word, I will protect you", she remarks, flashing her sweetest smile.
Barely pausing, Elisai turns her attention to Tal. "You are most kind, but I fear your own arcane skill far exceeds my own, I dabble, nothing more...as for my spells however, I studied the art of silent illusions, as well as the ability to inspire someone, some might say in the nick of time as it were. I also picked up the useful addition of a Grease spell, because really, its amazing what you can do with a spell such as that one".
Jessica DuMorne
Looking a little put out at both Sunday and Delendir, Jessica says to them sternly, "Knock it off you two, Sunday, quite hitting Delendir, Delendir, be nice," she gives both of them a pleading look, "please?" Looking at teh newly arrived ladies, "Please forgive Delendir, he's a good man at heart, just rough around the edges."
Seeing tal arrive, Jessica stands up and gives him a hug before he sits down, "Morning Tal." From the tone of her voice it is obvious there is some emotional attachment to him, at least from Jessica's view.
Diplomacy (can't we all just get along?): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Sunday Daud
Indignant at first but at Jessica's pleading he will let a sigh escape his nostrils as he goes back to nursing his drink.
Delendir Farnes
Delendir tells Daud as he catches him "You better stop thinking with your cock before we get in trouble here."
The half-elf further rants about the volunteers, only finally quieted down by Jessica's words "Well, I guess we have no time to further look for stout adventurers here..." and looking around at the others "And everybody else seem delighted at your company, thus, let it go, just try not to distract our males here. Loot share is proportional for every member, but we may distribute some of the most expensive items by usefulness. We are on business." And let's hope we don't get killed on our circus parade.
The ranger places his arms over the back of the neck and mostly looks to other places, deepen on thoughts while the others are driven by the new and pleasant conversation.
Sunday Daud
"You have me confused vith zhat one, Senir." Daud growls while jabbing a finger at Tal. "Just because I am not an ass towards a lady does not mean I immediately vant to bend her over and mount her." Stopping only momentarily he'll switch to cursing quite obviously worse in that low rasping voice of his.
"Stupid worthless patriarchal-lording piece of s%#+."
With a sour look on his face he'll finish off his drink and try to catch one of the server's eyes.
