How much damage has this thing taken already? Just tossing up the merits between attacking it vs healing everything (which unfortunately would include it) but its hard to get a picture on how much punishment its already taken.

Nevermind, I'm dumb, its a contruct, so doesn't get any healing from channel anyway.

Elisai steps back and unleashes a Channel Energy, healing all allies in the radius.

You don't yet know this is a construct, but how about we go through the process of identifying it? That would save Yavenee wasting a spell and avoid meta-gaming knowing that it is a construct. It is a DC19 Knowledge Arcana to successfully identify it.

Witht he path clear for her Krysta rushed into the room and slipped around behind the thing staying just out of it's reach as she did and then lashed out with her jaws at it's back from the extreme reach of her jaws. She managed to tear a chunk of it off as she prepared to strike again and began to munch on it, the sound of carapace grating between crystalline teeth.

Elisai knows this is a construct called a Skull Ripper. Skull rippers were once guardians of the dead, the grim custodians of the great ossuaries of Thassilon. Although most skull rippers are discovered in ancient tombs and sepulchers, occasionally a geological upheaval or massive flood destroys a given catacomb or leaves a skull ripper stranded. In these cases, the construct emerges and ventures forth into the world above, harvesting skulls and causing widespread panic as it searched for a new tomb to guard. You get two questions about it if you wish.

With that knowledge, let me know if you want to retcon you action Yavenee.

Kyrsta's bite rips off a portion of the rear body of the Skull Ripper and determines it tastes like old bones. Though her attack succeeds, the hard stone body seems to prevent as much damage as she should have inflicted upon it.

Delendir's trident does not have that problem however. It pierces deep into the body of the beast which skitters loudly, reeling from the pain.

Elisai knows that the skull ripper has DR/admantine and is immune to construct traits, resists cold and has a fairly high spell resistance.

No word from Yavenee on her previous action, so I'm moving on. If you want to change it when you check in, just retcon it.

Still holding on to the barbarian, the creature squeezes him tighter and begins to constrict the air from his lungs as he pulls him 5' closer to him. He then lashes out with his tail and free claw, adding to the damage. (12-2)10 + (16-2)14 = 24 damage. When Sunday drops unconscious, the skull ripper drops his body from his claw and turns it attention back to Delendir. It lashes out with its tail at him, but Yavenee's misfortune and curse cause it to miss the fallen ranged.

Krysta saw Sunday drop and the thing turn to Delendir again and gave a roar of anger as she shifted closer and unleashed a flurry of strikes on it. She put as much fore behind them as she could as she lashed out faster than a whirling dervish.

Looks like in my head you still had DR2 and not DR5, so yes you are up and that was my mistake - apologies. In which case I need to retcon my action slightly. Sunday is still being held by the skull ripper and his third attack did not go to Delendir, it went to Sunday. Sunday's total damage for this round would be (12-5)7 + (16-5)11 + (10-5)5 = 23 which should take you down still?

The party is partially successful in their retaliatory attacks on the skull ripper. Krysta lands three strikes and Sunday lands one, the dense bone body of the creature proving difficult to pierce. The creature can't sustain the continued punishment that the group puts on it however and it finally collapses to the stone floor loudly.

With the beast finally destroyed, Delendir inspects that item the group spotted wedged in the crack earlier. Yavenee determines that the pale ellipsoid is actually an ioun stone that is capable of absorbing up to six more spell levels.

Delendir kneels with effort helping himself with the adamantine trident "That was... tough..." the ranger kicks one of the metallic pincers of the construct "A terrible grab. What a monstrosity. Whom a why would create such a thing?"

After finding the ellipsoid and inspecting the remaining areas of the room Delendir nods to the group "We need to rest. We are in a horrible shape. We might need to have a look at the structure to make sure its safe though..."

Sneering at the vile creature as it finally collapses, Yavenee releases the dark energies at her command, turning to take in Sunday and Delendir with concern. "Unpleasant....walking around mostly dead is just unpleasant?" she mutters, walking right up to him, drawing her wand and beginning to administer its healing effects.

The group beds down in the lower chambers, rotating watch and make sure nothing awry happens in the night. It's not the most comfortable arrangements you've had, the smells down here make it terribly difficult to fall asleep, but at least it isn't raining in here. Eventually sleep comes and goes and you awake at some point the following day. Due the exhaustion from yesterday and the lack of sunlight, it's difficult to tell what time of day it is.

Eating a light meal and picking your belongs up, you start the long trek back to the surface. As you are ascending hundreds of feet, you think about just how far down in the damn structure you must have been. After twenty minutes of climbing, you make it back to the top with the room with five sets of doors.

You are greeted by the sounds of rain as it continues to pour down outside, shrouding any signs of sunlight. Moving through the doors to the northwest you open the extremely heavy doors and move north through an empty room to another set of doors after Delendir claims they are free of traps.

Piles of rubble dominate this large room, along with bits of flesh, broken weapons, splashes of blood, and a few dead ogres that have been torn limb from limb. Wind and rain howl through circular openings to the north that look out over the Storval Deep, and puddles of water have collected on the floor. Thick sheets of ropy green fungus grow along the walls here, winding in through the windows and through numerous cracks in the domed ceiling thirty feet above; behind the fungal vines, the walls are decorated with hundreds of skull-shaped carvings.

When you enter the room four trolls leap out from behind in the fungus and prepare to attack, as if expecting you. Unfortunately for them, you were expecting trouble as well. Only Krysta is slightly caught off guard as she was momentarily distracted by the wind and rain howling in the room.

Everyone but Krysta is up.

Staring out at the massive snarling trolls, Yavenee throws up he hands, chanting as she conjures a glittering burst of golden motes that explode in the faces of two of the monsters.

Delendir slowly advances through the room full of dead bodies "It seems a fight has happened here recently. Look all that gore. And it seems our ogre friends were involved... I hope whatever they were fighting is gone"

Sunday is up. Elisai acts before Delendir, so haste affects him this round and he should be getting another attack.

Delendir gets one last shot off on the northern most troll, pegging an arrow in his chest. Sunday does the rest of the work as he critically severs the right leg from the beast, sending him toppling to the ground. Once on the ground he throws another wicked strike across the creatures neck and lets his spirits do the work and send the troll unconscious. Yellow is down.

In a blinded rage, the two trolls charge forward towards the party. The pair last out at Delendir and Krysta respectively, but the glitterdust has their completely off their mark and this miss, badly.
